July flyer from Howden Insurance piqued my attention. Spoke to Liam Snaith who was excellent. Succinct comments and very knowledgeable. He listened and came up with a quote that I accepted. We have used Howdens previously Aplan for many years and always found them to be efficient in dealing with our Insurances. Maria Ormesher at the Welwyn office was very knowledgeable and helpful in rearranging our van insurance this year.

Lovely to ring an insurance company and not be onto a machine for an hour until you get through.
Pieter was so helpful , I rang to get a comparison as auto renewed with Coop for home insurance and thought it looked pricey. Howdens was half the price and a much better policy, just shows you need to compare! Pieter has been on the ball with getting our policy sorted and explained everything so well. Highly recommend this company!

I've just renewed my insurance for my campervan and dealt with Kerry, who was friendly, easy to talk to and made the renewal very simple and quick. Very rare when talking to insurance companies. Kerry checked the van clubs I'm with and found I could get a discount as well..Top marks...

Appalling customer service! I cancelled
My insurance as bought a new car on Sunday and they are not contactable on a Sunday. Charged 250 odd for cancellation. Spoke to a really rude guy who said he was entitled to a day off and it was fine they weren’t open on a Sunday. Then called to take the payment I was in a meeting and couldn’t take the call so then straightaway send an email saying if payment is not paid they will instruct a debt collector. I’ve been with A Plan approx 10 years and not had a claim on car or van. Their approach is appalling and I will be cancelling all insurances I have with them at renewal.
There are a lot of better insurance companies around who treat you with respect! Nothing but rude!

I was since contacted and they waived the £50 cancellation fee and sincerely apologised which was much appreciated.

I like that you can call and speak to someone without either a long hold or a fee to speak with someone if wanting to query anything. I like that you talk to a live person and not an automated system, especially if the query is not a common question.
