I am retired but still work part-time as self-employed. My customers required me to take out public indemnity insurance. A few years ago, I contacted Howden for a quotation. Their staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. As a result, I am now in something like my fourth year of cover via the company. Throughout that period, I have been impressed with the service that I have received both over the 'phone and face-to-face. What is more, my insurance costs have actually reduced this year.

I have arranged my buildings, household and motor insurance through Howden. They have obtained excellent quotes each time. They have also helped me with a motor claim which was concluded without problems. This time it concerned renewal of a combined buildings/contents policy. This was dealt with promptly by Catherine Smith who arranged for a considerable saving on the premium versus the previous year. As others have pointed out, it's good to deal with actual people and not have the bother of hunting around the web. Good all round service.
