Arranging home insurance renewal via phone for my mum who struggles. Very helpful chap at the Altrincham office patiently updated some incorrect info & provided sound, reasonable advice about details in the forms. He even got an updated quote in a few minutes & saved my mum £30. Star!

I had a lot of questions about my vintage car and Heather Gorton answered my questions in a professional and friendly manner. I have been a customer for over 20 years and would not wish to insure my vintage car with any other company. I have found them to be very efficient, knowledgeable and professional at all times. Howden's Welwyn branch were able to review a couple of quotes for unoccupied house insurance. They advised on the best option. I felt able to discuss it and consider my needs. They also lowered the price when asked.

Four stars because the policy was not sent once the payment was made, I had to email and ask for the policy document, unlike other insurers who send it straight away or confirm the policy is in place. It took five days for the policy documents to be sent by email.

Made an enquiry about insurance for contents and valuables. Received very clear and helpful advice on the options and then on the quotes from the various insurers. Felt that I was able to make an informed decision as a result, and it resulted in cost savings compared to our existing insurer because we weren’t paying for unnecessary ‘bells and whistles’ - the policy was more appropriate to our needs.

I had an issue with my car whilst driving in Spain. The Breakdown Recovery company, which was an add on to my motor insurance was absolutely awful. I contacted Tom at Howdens, (who I had spoken to when taking out my car insurance policy) to ask for help and he was amazing! Such great and caring attention and service. He contacted the breakdown people on my behalf and helped enormously. When you’re in that situation it’s so good to be looked after and supported. Thank you Tom!
