I needed to rearrange my home insurance urgently when my previous insurer ceased to provide domestic cover. They did, however, provide several suggestions for suitable insurers, one of which was Howden.
I phoned and was very quickly connected to a most helpful lady. She recorded all my details and within a very short time recommended an insurer who met all my requirements. Not only that, the cost was significantly less than I had previously paid.
The policy documents, etc. arrived promptly as promised.
I would certainly recommend talking to Howden before automatically renewing.

I have used A-Plan (now Howden) for years. They always telephone me when my policies are due, are very helpful and friendly and always get me the best deal possible. I currently have several policies through them and I can highly recommend them to anyone.

Always a good service and they do everything possible to gain the best policy for me. Although I pay a premium, given what’s going on in the industry, I think it’s worth it to have Howdens working for me.

Called Howdens yesterday to get a quote for car insurance after having a very positive experience with them recently when we moved our buildings and home contents insurance to them; the person I spoke with then was very helpful indeed, and the same goes for Christopher Ashford yesterday who was really helpful and very patient with this deaf old woman!! Obviously no experience yet of making a claim but top marks for their communication, would recommend them so far.

It was disappointing that I had to waste a lot of time trying to get a better deal than the one for car insurance renewal from Howdens. The initial quote was ridiculously high and when I went in the shop they could only knock a few pounds off. Having found a good deal online I was about to take it up when I thought I would try Howdens again. This time they were more helpful and they came up with something which was far better. Had this price come up with the renewal papers it would have saved us all a lot of time and trouble.

Have to totally recommend Lendyl from Howdens. He was an absolute star when I broke down without my documents (of course!) last week and really went over and above after hours to help me out. Really appreciate his help and five star customer service. This is what makes great companies.

Sue at Howden’s was absolutely brilliant when I phoned her about my home insurance. She immediately understood the problem I was facing (where my previous insurers just told me to go on comparison sites ) and agreed to negotiate with an appropriate company on my behalf. The relief after phoning several companies to be speaking to someone knowledgable and who understood the situation and my anxiety! By the afternoon Sue phoned me back with the offer of insurance which met my needs and at a reasonable price. I certainly would recommend Howden’s
