Our grandkids (6 & 5) had the most fantastic time. We went in the afternoon at a quiet time which meant they could get involved in everything. Operated the bellows for the blacksmith and he gave them the horse shoe. Helped collect eggs from ducks and hens - mammoth task there! Rode the cart horses. Fed the geese, ducks and hens. Threshed the corn. Lots of other things. A truly memorable day. We were very lucky because it was late and the weather wasn’t great so they got a lot of attention but I know they will remember it for the rest of their lives. Wonderful staff. Thank you so much. They ask to go back regularly - wanted to see the lambs but then came CV19😕

Both my boyfriend and I had a wonderful day here / the volunteers were amazing - very knowledgeable and friendly! Animals were very well cared for! Amazing food available in the cafe!

Been on a 2 day ploughing course with shire horses
The instructors Simon and Jak were great very knowledgeable very easy to talk too and nothing was to much trouble and there was no such thing as a stupid question
There were 3 of us on the course Karen,Alan and myself and the ploughing was shared between the 3 of us
I would highly recommend this place even if it was just to step back in time for a day or just a few hours

I have wanted to visit Acton Scott since the Victorian Farm series was on television nearly 10 years ago. We finally managed it today and, despite the grey damp weather, we really enjoyed our visit. I was sad to learn of the demise of Clumper the Shire horse a couple of years ago as he featured in the original TV series. Nevertheless, the Shire horses were majestic and wonderful to see - especially Joe who stands 18.2hh! We also really enjoyed the wheelwright demonstration which really brought the craft back to life in the 21st century. We rounded off our visit with a hearty warming lunch in the cafe and can thoroughly recommend a visit to all countrymen.

Loved this place, such a lovely place to walk around and see all the different animals. Especially loved Charlie and Joe the Shire Horses as I'm a big fan of them. Definately will be going again. Loved there 1940s day!

I haven't been to Acton Scott in a while. It has some changes for the better. Nice day out enjoyed my visit. I also enjoyed the gluten free cake that they have, they also do food in their cafe. The children had a lovely time. We got to see how they lived back in the days gone by.

Seen Acton Scott in many of the historical programs but was definitely drawn in by the wartime farm program . Decided that a visit was needed & away we went . Very welcoming staff & lovely entrance building soon had us wandering around inside . The old school is now a cafe serving hand made on the premises food of a very high quality . The originality of the farm is evident , with the bare minimum of the modern world interfering in it .
A very relaxing & nostalgic day in many ways for us both , would love to return again , if just to feel like a child again and enjoy the experiences of being on a farm for the first time . The smells ( all good ! ) sounds & sights stirring memories of the past

ALSO look out for events put on by the FOLKlore group that often hold specialist days at the farm. Halloween, Christmas, Lammas...real folklore for everyone. Very entertaining and interesting. Brilliant performers: Storytellers, musicians and folklorists. A unique 'must see'.

It's very interesting and educational to see how an old style farm operated . Remember, old style means just 100 years ago ,so much has changed in the last 100 years .I would say it is well worth a visit for both adults and children .it's quite compact and easy to get around, with animals to see along with wild fowl, chickens and if you are lucky you may get to see the horses ploughing, depending on the season

To visit an old ( working ) Farm was a great treat, to see a large number of implements that we have seen and used in the past, watch butter being churned and learn what we had done wrong in the past, talk to members of staff and see how the farm is run, children able to hold day old chicks, horses should have been out binding in the oat field because the weather was good but staff spending time talking to visitors. It seams uncertain what the future is because of running costs Shropshire county council run museum .
The cafe is very good , they do serve. Fast food, they serve homemade food as fast as they can!

Been here lots of times- I love the old fashioned things- lots to do and see. Set in beautiful countryside. Nice shepherds cottage tearoom

What a fantastic place for people of any age lots of history with the building's which have lovely exhibitions in them or lots of different animals. Highlight for me was watching a farrier putting new shoes on one of the shire horses.The cafe in the old schoolhouse was very good value with indoor and outdoor seating. Seeing whrre a tv series was filmed in real life made it even better. Will definately come back for another visit, highly recommend
