A great day out, if you're looking for loads of things to see you'll be dissapointed...but if you talk to the folks there, listen as they tell you about the place, it's a treasure trove of knowledge. We'd been there an hour & only reached the cafe, which was handy as it was lunch time. Food was great, freshly made & the sponge cake was the best I'd had in a long while.
We certainly return.

We throughly enjoyed our visit to Acton Scott Farm. Whilst there we were lucky enough to see Edward the shire horse in work during a hay making demonstration. Staff were all very friendly, kind and informative.
Our children were fascinated with the farm machinery and all of the animals.
We will definitely be returning in the future.

Really high quality, authentic experience at Acton Scott, which we'd heard so much about. All the activities were appropriate and well delivered, with the in-character staff both knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery provides the perfect backdrop for timeless reenactment of historic pastimes, which were also fun to get up close to and try first hand. Cafe is superb and would be great to visit again even without rentering the farm. Don't forget to call in at hatton farm just up the road for fresh organic milk from their vending machine too!

A great place to visit with family. We heard a very interesting talk on shire horses, saw some spinning visited the herb garden and loved seeing the calves. The cafe lunch was good. Even better when all the old machinery, butter making, barrel making etc it back up and running as it used to be.

This is a great day out. Staff are friendly, informative, and inspirational. If you have an interest in history, rural matters and/or Shropshire, I would recommend a visit. There’s also a cafe selling fabulous bakes!

We had a great time visiting Acton Scott. It was really interesting seeing how farming and life was. When we went, there was a demonstration of sheep shearing and working the shire horses. The scenery around the farm is stunning. Paths are well made up. The farm yard is cobbled. So if you are not confident on your feet, then you will need to take care.

Had a really lovely few hours at Acton Scott today. I took an older lady that I care for who has a farming background. She knew a lot of the implements and loved the shire horses.
We had a great lunch outside the cafe. My friend thoroughly enjoyed it.

Went on a tour as part of the pre-opening. Wonderful location (although a sign at the entrance is needed - everyone we spoke to got lost and pastr the entrance!). Wonderful historic farm. The volunteers, especially the young curly headed guy and the woman playing the 'Squires wife' were both excellemt and very knowledgeable. Can't wait to return when the farm is back to full capacity!

Due to re-open in 2025 but we visited today as part of the trial tours being run to help the charity get ready. Lovely people and a superb location for this historic farm

Our second visit to the farm (August 2019) and it was just as good as our previous visit. If your into farming history or even just like farms and farm animals, Acton Scott is the place to go. Watching the heavy horses doing what they do best is a wonderful sight but you're reminded that Shire horses are now more endangered than Pandas. The only downside to this visit was that many of the displays that we had seen in our previous visit weren't there and the hand milking of the cows, which I had the privilege to take part in and had enjoyed greatly last time, had been stopped some time ago. All this said and done, I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely go again.

This was outstanding. Our guide, Rob, was so interesting and made sure that people at the back or slow to catch up heard everything.

we spent a morning at the farm and very much enjoyed the whole experience. There is a lot to see and do for all ages and the staff are extremely knowledgable and approachable. It still has a proper farm feel about the place and not too theme parked. We spent a few hours remembering how we used to use some of the old farm equipment, a few years ago now! It is also a great place for families.

A great day out at Acton Scott Farm. Despite the Covid restrictions there was still plenty to do and see. Our children managed to help Farrier Tom make a horse shoe at the forge and were given it as a keep sake. Great demonstration and Tom was a real character. There were baby chicks that were held and the opportunity to sit in a 6’ high shire horse! The grounds were stunning along with the beautiful views of Shropshire.
There was a willow maze which the kids loved as well. Loads to see and a great insight into the past.
Only draw backs were the lack of toilets and cafe due to the restrictions, some porta loos might help along with other drink outlets.

Wonderful day. My grandchildren had a great day, seeing all the farm animals, stroking lambs and holding chicks and ducklings. Staff were really helpful. We were there for 6 hours and the children were occupied and inspired the whole time.

An excellent morning spent here. The staff are brilliant and seem happy to answer any questions. There is plenty to do for a morning/afternoon with scope for more as restrictions ease. The 'little farmers' walk around in the early part of the day was brilliant for children of all ages.

We all had the a fantastic time, the perfect place to take my young grandchildren. So much to see that met all their different likes: chicks, piglets, horses, tractors and wheels and the highlight for one the shepherds hut! Plenty for me and my big children, amazing veg patch, beautiful scenery, weaving and dairy and delight at watching the kids run excitedly around in a safe and well looked after venue. We all left feeling more than happy. I realised I’d lost my purse there, rang up and was told they’d found it and put it in the safe. I live around 20 miles away but a member of staff delivered it to my door. Wow that’s service! Thank you so much to all at the farm who helped to make our day special. We’ll definitely be back.
