My husband and I visited this historic farm 17/8/19 for the 1940's event. A warm welcome from staff & we began pottering around, following the paths. Many people - visitors & staff were wearing clothes in the 1940 style. It felt so natural & everyone blended. There was even a place where one could have hair done in the style of the period.
We were slightly concerned about having to wait a long time for food, having read a t'advisor review for the preceeding day. We'd packed some edibles to leave in car - just in case. We need not have worried. I sat in my borrowed w'chair at an outside table by The Old School House whilst my husband waited in a queue to order food. As he returned to the table, about 20mins later, a waitress followed carrying our lunch - yummy jacket potatoes etc.. If any are concerned about waiting time...it IS a Victorian Farm - a conveyor belt type food system just would not suit.
I am a Blue Badge holder & was grateful for the borrowed w'chair. I could sit when nec. or use for stability when going over some cobbled areas. It was great to see so many free ranging chickens scurrying around everywhere. A flock of geese happy to share their space with visitors. Goats, piglets, calves etc. all looked very well.
We both pickd up on the fact that whilst many children were around, there were no tantrums nor screaming from any. The tranquility of the place had worked it's magic on everyone.
Thank you to all concerned for creating such a place of interest.
We will return.

Fantastic day out with the family. Plenty to see and do and lots of opportunities to get hands on with the animals. We enjoyed sampling the cakes and lunches in the cafe too.
From my 6 year old “this is the best farm I’ve been to, it’s got all the animals you could ever want and lots of great events too!”
We got a groupon voucher making it even better value for money.

Visited with my daughter and two young grandsons. Was only planning to spend half the day there but stayed until the end. Saw all of the activities which were great. What is special here is the staff doing the demonstrations - they make sure that every child has a go no matter how many children turn up for holding a chick or lamb feeding. You can also get close to the lovely animals and there are lots of them, many running around for you to see. My favourites will always be the shire horses such big beautiful giants. The tug of war with a grass rope was such fun and the staff and lady we spoke to towards the end were so interesting. There’s lots of space to run around, have your picnic and all and will definately be back

There is a fabulous off road mobility scooter that can be hired at the farm. Well worth booking this ahead of a visit if someone in the party struggles with walking. Cute pygmy goats, free range chickens walking around and beautiful piglets. Great family trip we could all enjoy

We thoroughly enjoyed our day here and spent a lot longer going around than we expected.

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a full programme of demonstrations, guided walks and animal interactions throughout the day.

Study the map they give you to ensure that you don't miss some of the features.

We loved seeing the working horses being trained.

Reasonable prices in their cafe.

Took children age 8 & 9 here for the day & we all had fun. Pretty surroundings, interesting old-world farming displays, animals well cared for, helpful staff & plenty to see and do. The cafe was excellent serving home-made food that was fairly priced. Clean facilities & some play areas such as sandpit and gypsy caravan for younger children.

Spent the day with a group of friends learning how to make focaccia, spelt loaves and hand churned butter. We also enjoyed a butter churning session using a traditional end to end butter churn. Thankfully, we managed to all make a smaller batch of butter using less muscle power.
We didn’t have time to see much of the farm except the dairy and it wasn’t a working day but there seemed to be lots of things to interest all ages.
I would highly recommend the bread and butter session, and think the rest of the farm is well worth a look.
I noticed baby changing facilities and the shop looked inviting too.

Attended the Historic Farm with my parents, had a nice and relaxing time wandering about the grounds. Enjoyed watching the animals in their natural habitats and taking in the atmosphere. Friendly staff; especially liked chatting to the Horse and Donkey keeper (pictured in the groups' photos ploughing the fields). Lovely chap! Food was delicious. Must check out the café which used to be an old school.

We didn’t know what to expect from our visit, but we had seen the TV programme some years ago. It was so interesting, the hi-light for us was to actually see an old fashioned horse and plough in action. There were numerous animals and old fashioned farming equipment. The staff were very knowledgeable. The homemade food in the cafe was fantastic. Ideal day out for young and old.

Took our three granddaughters here yesterday, they had a wonderful time, holding day old chicks and ducklings, feeding lambs, pigs & ducks and then collecting eggs and putting the livestock away at the end of the day.
We took a picnic and there was plenty of benches to sit and eat it.
The staff were brilliant, they got the children involved in all the activities.
It cost us £25 for a day ticket, I thought this was real value for money and we also got a 25% off voucher to use again or pass on to a friend.
My wife and I also enjoyed this visit to a no frills historic working farm.
Thank you.

We visited over Easter and the whole family loved the farm. We saw the horses in harness working on the land. Lots of animals to see at close quarters. It was not over busy and we looked round at a gentle pace. We had lunch and my daughter and her husband had the ploughman’s lunch. One cheese and one pie and scotch egg. They looked wonderful. A lovely day out for the family.

We are frequent visitors and it is our ‘must go to’ place. It is a gentle, unassuming peaceful place in a beautiful setting. A real feeling of being amongst a family of people who really care both for their animals and heritage.
We arrive as it opens and leave as it closes. There are no gimmicks just a working farm museum.
The gift shop sells good quality gifts and crafts alongside produce which is truly excellent.
Well done and thank you.

The weather could have been better, but it didn't spoil our day here. All the staff were wonderful, chatting and explaining everything they were doing, a great inspiration to some members of our party to take up new skills. Lovely to watch the two new heavy horses being prepared for harrowing and see them working in the field. We have been to Action Scott a few years ago in the summer time, but it was a real treat to visit late spring as we saw the newly hatched chicks and ducklings, together with the new lambs, piglets and calves. The soup and cheese scone in the cafe were delicious, served by very friendly staff were a great end to our visit here.

We visited on a wet drizzly day for our daughters birthday and felt the entry price was a bit too high for what was offered inside.
It may have just been our luck but there didn't seem to be much going on. There weren't many animals for a farm and we had done the whole site and seen all the animals within an hour.
We chose to eat in the cafe and which was very overpriced. Charging £6 for a small Panini that didn't come with any chips or sides (had to pay extra for those) left a damper on the day as it cost us almost £40 for 3 adults and a small child to have a small bite and a drink each. I'm also not sure why they freeze their frube yoghurts either as it meant the child wasn't able to eat it until it had defrosted enough to sqeeze it out the gap at the top you tear off.
Not only that but there wasn't enough seating for the amount of customers they were serving as the cafe is tiny.
With that said the staff we encountered were very friendly as were the animals we saw.
Ended up leaving disappointed overall so unlikely to visit again when there are much better farm parks out there for there.

Lovely animals, huge variety. We were lucky enough to see piglets being born. We also stroked the horses and had a ride on the cart. Fabulous day out, suitable for all - we will be returning 2019.

We had a really lovely despite a bit of drizzly rain to start but it soon cleared up. After enjoying a lovely snack in the old school, we wandered around the exhibts and really enjoyed talking to the people who work in the various places, dressed in period costume. We met the lady who looks after the beautiful heavy horses and I told her of my love for horses, having grown up in Epsom (The Derby) and especially the Shires. Well, to my delighted surprise she asked if I would like to ride 'Charlie' the shire but I explained that the arthritis in my hips wouldn't let me straddle such a wide back as Charlies; she then asked if I would like to take the reins to drive Charlie pulling the hay cart and I readily agreed. I was allowed, under supervision, to lead Charlie from the stables around to the where the cart was, buck him up into the shafts and do up some of the straps. After instruction, I the took the reins for the normal route taken for passengers who normally sit on the hay bails for a ride. I was over the moon to have done that - Thanks Acton Scott Farm - We went back into the school for another drink and a bite then returned to our B&B. What a lovely day ! !

We went unsure what to expect and found it to be a lovely little place with hands on experiences for kids and adults alike - our toddler was able to grind the corn for chicken feed and then he got to hold a chicken. he also feed a lamb which was almost a sheep! It’s so lovely to hear people talking so passionately and with such knowledge to young children to keep it all alive and not forgotten

We visited Acton Scott after seeing the television program "The Victorian Farm". Had a wonderful time seeing all the areas, except the farm house, that were shown in the programme. Even hand milked a cow, something I hadn't done in over 22yrs, but hadn't lost the touch. Planning another visit in April.
