Excellent highly recommend The most delightful property where the staff were charming and helpful, my room was fresh clean and provided everything I required although on the down side it was very hot with only a very small window which was in character with the property and an electric fan was provided, it is a petty issue as I like a very cold bedroom. The food was of a very high standard breakfast was excellent and restaurant first class. Would definitely stay again Nothing

Nice stay in beautiful village. The accommodation is in a separate building next to the pub set in a beautiful village. Neil and Steph the owners are very friendly and helpful. Even though id been offered a different WiFi option, non worked. The phone signal was also very intermittent. This was a problem for me as it was a work trip.

Local produce , wine from Duncan Murray , friendly staff particularly Neil , best meal we’ve had in a long time, looking forward to going back as they change the menu every weeks and have specials. (Also a great locals pub for a pint)

We often go over on a Wednesday for steak night and sometimes for Sunday lunch, and the food is always delicious.

Great wine list - excellent ‘by the glass’ choice, different from the usual offerings.

Love the banter and the atmosphere.

Reasonable prices, lovely people, what’s not to like?!

And the wine and food pairing evenings are so much fun.

Wonderful country pub with amazing food and friendly owner and knowledgeable owners. Had a fantastic visit on Steak Night, high quality, locally sourced food and a fair price considering the quality. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant night was had by all. A lovely pub in a lovely location. The rooms, which are separate from the pub in the courtyard, so very quiet, are very well appointed. Very comfortable beds and excellent, spotless bathroom. Our dog was made welcome. Breakfast was superb and every member of staff we met was very helpful. We would return!

We visited the George to meet with friends for dinner, Ashley was a great midway point .
We only stayed for one night but a lovely small village pub with lovely hosts. The spacious bedroom was spotless & had everything you could want. Nice bathroom with a lovely walk in shower and well stocked with toiletries.
It was very hot in the evening and there was even a fan for the room which was most welcome. It was so quiet that we were able to sleep with the window open, the beds were comfy and we slept well .Breakfast was very good and locally sourced sausages were especially good - full English, plus the usual cereal, tea, coffee and fruit juice
We had a lovely stay and would 100% stay again. Lovely place with lovely staff not one bad thing to say!!

We came for Sunday dinner, I was the only one bin our party that had previously been.
I had the Squid starter which was very nice and plenty of it, 2 if my family had Scollops and one the Fig and Fera Cheese salad, we all enjoyed our starters. My main was the Roast Pork don't miss this if Pork is your favourite, this was the best Roast Pork I've eaten when out anywhere! High praise I know but absolutely true. Everyone else in pur party had the Beef, one felt theirs was a little fatty and it was replaced immediately.
The pudding were as good as the rest of the meal and the staff were fantastic and looked after us and were on hand for a friendly chat, there was no rush.If you haven't been then go yiu won't be disappointed and we will be back for sure.
We have a small dog, not with us today, but we did enquire and in certain areas she will be welcome so another great reason to return.

Very low ceilings - would not stay again. It was pretty and very clean and the bed was comfortable. the room was under the eaves so extremely hot. As the room was small my partner bumped his head off the ceiling every time he walked round the bed.

What a hidden gem! Tucked away in the beautiful Welland Valley, The George at Ashley is just perfect. Staying overnight in the b&b accommodation we also had dinner. Compliments to the Chef as dinner delicious, scallops followed by monkfish all perfectly cooked, so why not pudding….the tiramisu went down well. And let’s not forget the very tasty Chablis; in fact The George has a real quality wine list.
And so to bed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Slept like a log on the bed.
Breakfast was what you’d want to set you up for the day fruit juice, cereals fruit, yogurts and toast from the buffet, a cooked breakfast, and really good coffee - couldn’t fault any of it.
And of course it wouldn’t have been so good without the attentive, friendly and professional staff working there - well done Steph and Neil, the pubs owners who have created such a hospitable and top quality place to stay.
