Four of us stayed here 14th Jan Saturday night. A snug bar with wood fire was welcoming. Then we were taken to our rooms which were fabulous warm and welcoming. We had booked a table and had a fantastic meal from a simple menu using local products. We enjoyed our hosts attentions and great stories as we ate and obviously drank some wine. Prices were very fair for this restaurant quality food. Sunday morning and a great full English breakfast. We definitely recommend The George.

We were made most welcome and would stay again. It was well located in a charming village in the Welland valley. A hidden gem in a rural setting. It was run by a very friendly couple Neil and Steph. The food was excellent. Nothing.

This is a gem of a place: we were down from Nottingham visiting friends, who had wisely booked us in. All the touches were there: generous, high quality mains and home-made desserts (so often they're not). To top it, very good value for money, and way better than you would get around where we live.

Our son recommended the George at Asley for Sunday lunch. We are so glad he did. Roast lamb for me & roast beef for my partner - both were delicious- followed by the cheese board for two. The Baileys float coffee was great. Friendly service and a lovely ambience.

We like to go away fairly frequently for the night and often the pictures online look better than the reality. This is not one of those times.
Really lovely hosts. Family ran business and passionate about their quality of the rooms and food. The room we stayed in was ground level across the courtyard from the pub. Nice location and a stone's throw from the bar and restaurant. Accommodation was nicely decorated with all the necessary amenities and a really good sized shower room. The food was another level! Absolutely amazing!!! This place is worth the visit just for the food. There is obviously an amazing chef passionate about his food because it really shows. No more expensive than anywhere else decent but we eat out a lot throughout the year and this place has to be one of the best places we've ever eaten.
The place itself is a bit dated and the toilets and interior probably could do with an update but this place does market itself on being a traditional get what you see type of place and despite the lack of the fancy entrance and bar decor we couldn't fault it. We would definitely go back again and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. You must visit this place! 5 stars ****

Tried the new lunch menu, excellent range of choices, good beer and a nice fire. Gammon egg and chips were super and reasonable price £10. Will go again, it’s a must to visit this lovely pub. Food always cooked well and nicely presented. If you’ve not been, well worth a visit

Perfectly comfortable stay in a lovely village Room was cozy and so comfortable. Lovely location and away from main pub so wasn’t particularly noisy. The shower door stuck and needed a bit of force to open. There was a constant low level whirring noise from a fan or generator outside the window that was on and off throughout the night. Not terrible but a little irritating.

Excellent friendly and comfortable accommodation with really excellent food and service.. Dinner was excellent husband had steak cooked to perfection I had the vegetarian option Butternut Squash risotto with pesto - it was delicious. Then breakfast good choice for individuals. We had the full English once again cooked to perfection with excellent local produce. Can definitely recommend.. The only thing that could possibly be improved on is the towel for the shower could have been larger but only mentioned because you asked.

We came over for dinner and to stay in the rooms, both did not disappoint nor did the breakfast!
The staff on arrival were very friendly and quick to check in and help us to our rooms. The rooms themselves were very clean and modern, comfy beds and with all the facilities you need in a b&b! Nothing was too much trouble.
The pub itself is situated in a beautiful, tranquil village with lovely walks available around. As the sun was shining, we got to enjoy drinks on the decked area at the pub which is full of colourful flowers and very well kept.
Our dinner in the a la carte restaurant was beautiful and very tasty.. we both opted for a starter- I had the bruschetta, my friend has the scallops (amazing!!) and then for mains we both had steak and for dessert shared a cheeseboard. Hats off to the chef! There was a good choice of meals on the menu. The next morning we both had a full English, which was beautiful and set us up for the day.
We both enjoyed our visit and cannot wait to return, thank you!
