Lichfield Cathedral is impressive. We visited twice, once in the morning to look around. We were given a really warm welcome. And then we came back at 2pm for the guided tour which was tremendous. Malcolm, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humour which made it all very digestible. We would definitely recommend doing the tour as it really brings the place to life.

Went twice in 24 hours. One for a Pink Floyd concert . Then in the day time the morning after. It is amazing if you like local history. The architecture is fantastic. It dates back to the 10th century. What a cathedral. It has 3 spires which is rare . It’s free to get in and you can make a voluntary contribution. At night time for the concert we were amazed they sold alcohol but needs must . The dim lights created an atmosphere in its own without any music . In the day time you can see the stained glass windows which are amazing with the sunshine shining through. I’ve got to say this is a must to go too . The skills , the sculptures are all amazing. So glad it’s well maintained. The toilets are not in the cathedral just down the road but well maintained. It’s amazing 🤩

Lichfield cathedral is a very ornate cathedral in the small city of Lichfield. This cathedral is a very appealing site for people interested in history. Additionally, it is FREE to enter, which is a very nice change to the standard british cathedral

It is a really beautiful Cathedral, probably my favourite in the UK after Wells and Canterbury Cathedrals. Beautiful main facade, beautiful context and really is the standout of the city, seen from every corner.

Extremely interesting medieval three spired cathedral with marvelous Gothic front.
There's a lot of history regarding the destruction by Cromwell's Puritans but I'll not spoil that, but you'll notice for instance there's no, Stations Of The Cross. Don't miss the relic there's a video on Yeyong & Jamie's Adventures.

The Tower Tours are definitely worth doing if you have a spare hour or so! Fascinating to hear about the history of the building and see behind the scenes. Our guides David and Alan were very knowledgeable and friendly. A lot of very small spaces and uneven spiral steps, so not for the faint hearted but the views are amazing!

The origin of the first construction dates back to the 11th century.

Its particularity is that it is the only cathedral in England to have 3 bell towers.

The stones used for its construction are Sandstone, which gives it its very particular color which varies throughout the day and depending on the sunshine.
From dark pink to salmon orange.

Well worth the detour.
