Burntwood
Burntwood
Burntwood is a former mining town and derives its name from the burning of heath in Cannock Forest and has long been associated with Woodhouses and Edgehill, or Edial, as it was once known. One of its claims to fame is the town is home to the smallest park in the UK, Prince Park.
This fabulous statue that graces Sankey's Corner is the work of local artist Peter Walker and is of a miner and his pony Scamp.
