Marvellous Longest Yarn. Worth visiting for those alone. But the cathedral is beautiful and very peaceful.

On a recent visit to Lichfield near Birmingham, I came across Lichfield Cathedral and was genuinely amazed by how beautiful it looked ⛪ The architecture is absolutely stunning, with intricate detailing and towering spires that instantly catch your attention. The whole area around the cathedral feels peaceful and historic, making it such a lovely place to pause and admire while exploring the town. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. ✨

Amazing building, the cathedral with three spears which is unusual. The entry is free but donations are welcomed.

The cathedral is amazing. I've met a few interesting people in there. The only shady thing is that the ones who have been put in front of the people have dirt inside. And they have to clean that through open hearts, not just open bags.

Lichfield Cathedral is a stunning medieval cathedral known for its unique three spires and beautiful Gothic architecture. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and inspiring, with impressive stained glass windows and intricate stone carvings. The surrounding close and gardens add to its charm, making it a wonderful place to visit for history, architecture, or quiet reflection. A true gem in the heart of Staffordshire.

Picked the right month as they have the longest yarn on display. Just wonderful and how clever the people are who created the scenes. The Cathedral is magnificent, and a great place to look around. The stained glass windows were colourful and plenty of them to admire. Don't forget to check out the history of the cathedral, it has been around a long time.

The longest yarn has 80 scenes from the Second World War in Britain. It is beautifully created in wool. I found each tableau to be emotional, reminding me of stories from my parents' lives.
There are also full size male and female figures in knitted uniforms. Reminding me of my father saying how the heavy army uniform itched to total distraction.
It is worth making a special effort to see.

We took a trip to Litchfield Cathedral today having booked the rooftop tour.
This is an amazing trip, packed with interesting information given by two guides.
Definitely need the instructions on tickets, definitely wear a good sturdy pair boots/shoes.
Staircases are narrow and spiral but there are opportunities for a rest if you need it.
Stunning views at the top and I would highly recommend it.
