We had friends visiting from Chicago and took them to the Cathedral.

A service was in progress but we were still permitted to take a look around. Such a beautiful place to visit, it never disappoints and is always clean.

The gift shop was open an had several lovely gifts for sale.

A great place to take your family and visiting friends.

A very historical building whose site predates the current cathedral finished in the 16th century on which both Norman and Saxon artefacts of buildings have been discovered.

When I last came here with my partner, there was an art exhibit on which was a nice little touch since it wasn’t planned. It was a very culturally interesting trip and it taught me a thing or two about the religion. I would recommend this to anybody in Lichfield who has a spare 30 minutes.

This isn't a quick 20 minute mooch around a cathedral. So much history to see inside we spent nearly two hours there. The place is really beautiful and so much more than a few statues and stain glass windows. The memorials inside were amazing. A section of the cathedral was set aside for memorials to the members of the Staffordshire regiments and most poignant for me was the Zulu shields depicting the Boer War and the battle at Rorks Drift. Will definitely revisit when we go back to Lichfield. So well worth the visit.

Always good to be at Lichfield Cathedral see the windows and imagine how they managed to build without the building equipment we have today.
