I don't use the term "awesome" very often but if ever something deserved that description it was what we experienced yesterday. A bit of muddle getting through the scrum of people at the entrance with very poor communication but the experience after that was truly magical and I would recommend it to anyone of any age.

Recently came back to Lichfield from the States with my partner and had a walk around Lichfield, shopping and dining etc.

I wanted to show her the beautiful Cathedral in all of its glory at around 6pm and it was in total darkness.

Whoever’s idea it is to leave the outside lights of this building off is complete idiot. Especially close to Christmas time.

I love this amazing building. A visit for the annual Christmas carol service is a cornerstone of Christmas. It's always busy but visitors are lovely and the service with the Salvation Army brass band and cathedral choristers is both enjoyable and uplifting. This year there were two double lines of Christmas trees to enhance the experience. Negatives that reduce my scoring are : 1. No nearby parking. 2. There were no candles for lighting to remember those less fortunate. 3. This event is so busy that latecomers (no matter how far they may have travelled) risk being turned away from worshipping. This service, however, remains a wondrous event.

Been to ‘Peace ‘ and the poppy light shows. Fantastic ideas to bring people from every walk of life together. Very thought provoking and moving tribute to the war dead. Looking forward to seeing the Christmas lights.

This is the most stunning cathedral I think I have ever been to. I honestly was blown away by its beauty. The exquisite detail was just AMAZING. I would highly recommend a visit. I can image at Christmas time it's the most beautiful place to be in Litchfield.

The moment you arrive in the quaint but buzzing little town, you notice the huge imposing cathedral, with detailed features. Inside is a definite atmosphere of antiquity, but well preserved by many centuries of continual re-building & restoration. The internal architecture gives a 3D sense of depth & intricate repeating detail.

We were lucky enough to hear a school choir rehearsing Handel's Messiah & see the Xmas adornments. The guide gave us a good half hour tour, summarising the entire history, so we left a £10 donation. Well worth a visit, regardless of your religion
