We stopped here to appreciate the architecture of the cathedral, which appears to be visible from every part of the town we visited. We had just missed the Christmas tree service, but enjoyed the display of decorated trees lining the church. Take time to visit while this is still on if you can, but still visit anyway, to see the carvings, statues and stained glass windows. Inspiring and moving.

Internally and externally the Cathedral is a delight to behold. Acting as a venue for many special events. The pipe organ is very well worth a listen

Very nice place with a huge history behind. We had a walk around and we went inside as well were you don't have to pay a ticket but the kid of expect to make a donation witch is ok if you want to is not a must. So is not very crowded so is ok for a getaway and a bit of history if you are around.

I love Lichfield cathedral. Great place to visit with lots of major activities during the year. Charles Darwins grandfather lived over the road and there is a fascinating museum in his old house. Well worth the visit, it's free as well!

What an amazing experience. Absolutely fantastic, enjoyed by the following ages 71, 68, 41, 40, 11, 9, 8, 7 - we really enjoyed the evening. They had strung up the messages from last year, they looked like they were floating. We will definitely be going again next year. Well done.

Lichfield is nice. But it appears to live in the shadow of the cathedral which seems to watch over the town (city)

The cathedral summoned us and in we went. Our timing was perfect. Carols just about to start. We indulged in the caroling.

The cathedral is large and impressive and traditional and we were impressed.

There was a Christmas tree festival on with many trees on display and some local school children had clearly put a lot of effort in. Some more than others but it never mattered due to the terrible system.
There is an entrance to the display and it is not explained clearly that there are 2 rows of trees so by the time we discovered the 2nd row, we had already voted and we felt bad for the trees in the 2nd row as they won't get many votes.

We may come back here next Christmas

We visited the event on Thursday. It was well organised and the staff were polite and helpful. The cathedral looked beautiful and the show was amazing. Inside the cathedral felt peaceful and Christmassy with the trees and other displays. I will definitely be returning next year.

Took a chance on a day out in Lichfield, and discovered Staffordshire's jewel, the old town gives the city character, from early Tudor days through to the prosperity of its Georgian hay-day, walking ye olde streets and alleyways.

The cathedral is 3 minutes walk from the centre and provides a quiet space to escape the bustling shoppers. Grand gothic spires and buttresses conceal st. Chads spiritual home.

Take time to sit beneath the vaulting arches and think on the thousands who have worked to create and preserve this lofty tabernacle of stone and calm.
