My wife and I visited and were delighted to join in a, free, tour. Unfortunately we could only stay for about half of it. John the guide was excellent, unpretentious, and super informative. I was particularly pleased at how he prioritized the tour for our limited time.

You cannot miss the Cathedral as it dominates the city of Lichfield - well worth a visit - easy to view all the buildings special areas and amazing architecture - the staff where very helpful and knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions etc.
Shame the shop is moving from the grounds - into town will not be the same having to hunt out the shop within the city centre

Beautiful cathedral in magnificent surroundings. Grounds and Cathedral are kept beautiful. Very peaceful and do mush history to learn. Volunteer staff were so very helpful and gave us lots of interesting facts. Would return with a more in-depth visit.

Well worth a visit Easy to get to and walk around. Lovely pool and park nearby Although Lichfield is a city the centre is quite small. Some nice shops and cafes.

Went in the cathedral twice to fully appreciate it. It is certainly one of the most impressive in the country. There are three or four large interactive displays which tell you about St Chad, pilgrimages, the windows, the chapels etc. etc. Really worth reading to understand more of the building and its history.
We were even shown a page on the WW1 Book of Remembrance relevant to our area when we asked the verger.

This is a stunning building with lots to look at. The staff are amazing- friendly and positive and welcoming. They were running a children's "messy church" in the central area with paints etc. How utterly fantastic is that? Great to see an ancient building with a modern attitude. Gorgeous.

A cathedral with medieval roots and stunning architecture. A tranquil place with much history and many stories to tell. Take a guided tour and allow plenty of time to read a few of the inscriptions. This would be of interest for the history of the Staffordshire Regiment as well as a religious monument.

Due to the water burst into Ironbridge we went to Lichfield cathedral it was a breathe taking to see the amount of detail as you walk around cathedral

Although much older, this cathedral has been very much restored by the Victorians. A pleasant setting and the 3 spires tower over the town. Although there was a guide around they did not advertise they were there which was a shame. The cathedral suffered a lot during the Civil War and somehow I found it a bit sad inside - it seemed to lack warmth. Worth stopping to see if you are passing through Lichfield but I would not make a special journey to see it.

Excellent Art installation of 1800 trees and light shows. The Cathedral has many different tours all year round. Many are in the summer with the Lichfield Festival. However things happening most weeks year round.

Living in lichfield the cathedral is a wonderful place for quiet reflection and contemplation. There are places to sit and gather your thoughts in a safe and welcoming environment.
I always try and support the events put on at the Catherdral, most recently the Peace exhibition. Very different from previous events, so moving and thoughtful at times it brought tears to my eyes. It gave time to think and remember those we love.
A wonderful place that everyone should make time to embrace and enjoy not only from a religious perspective as it offers so much more.

an amazing cathedral have visited twice in last few weeks. even though there was building work it is still one of my favourite places as visited when i was a child.

We had lunch in Litchfield and we were told to visit the 3 spire cathedral! We thought about it! But then just decided to have a wonder. The structure was beautiful, the faces on the statues were in tact and beautifully crafted. Inside was well kept with a full organ playing!
Would definitely recommend a look if you are in and around Litchfield, if only to see the artwork on the building, it is worth a visit! It is lovely to see a building full of history being well kept.

Beautiful church and helpful guide.<br>Ongoing repair work meant lots of scaffolding in places, plus noise which played havoc with my hearing aids.<br>The large computer screens scattered around where very informative.

I made a donation at the reception desk as I entered. Unfortunately, there was a church event taking place and a good deal of the building was roped off to the public. There was a nice atmosphere inside and I enjoyed looking around. The statues on the front wall of the Cathedral are the most striking thing. There is a nearby tearoom and toilets just over The Close on the right hand side.

This is a truly magnificent building on a site dating back to 700AD. The Norman Cathedral building as it stands dates back to 1330, with fantastic stone carvings on all the exterior walls. It's free to enter (although they ask for a donation) and is well worth a visit. it needs to be thoroughly cleaned and brought back to its former glories. The exterior particularly is very black and dirty - one of our national treasures that needs preserving and protecting.

On a recent visit to our son in solihull he took us to the City of Lichfield, a bonus was that it was a feastaval weekend too with many continental food and drink stalls lining the streets, the catherderal though was breath taking the structure, stone, metal, wooden carving were very detailed and seriously makes you wonder how on earth did these artisans manage to achieve these features to such detail with the tools they had to their disposal in the days of there creation. The three spire is one of very few in the UK the height was seriously scary, when you think back in the day they build scaffolding out of wood.

Beautiful architecture, dedicated to saint Chad. Medieval in construction however the cathedral was decimated during the English civil war due to its highly defensible location in the close. It's the only cathedral in England to have 3 remaining spires and can be seen from all over the city. Is well worth a visit and is a wonderful day out! Nearby is the pool which is overlooked by the cathedral and makes a great place for a picnic. Definitely worth a visit and full of history! There are a few pieces collected from the Staffordshire hoard on display which was an interesting surprise also.

Went on Sunday for choral evensong, my Favourite time to hear the age old acoustics of the Cathedral. Lovely building, not as old as some and with major Victorian facelift, but very impressive nonetheless. I wanted to do the tower tour but was disappointed to see these only run a few Saturdays through the summer.

Visited late in the evening for this exhibition. Rather disappointing as many write ups could not be read because lighting was very dim and some were near the floor. A lack of joined up thinking. When will Marketing people realise sensible presentation is so important. 'Being pretty' does not always work.

Lichfield is a lovely place lovely shops all nice clean place enjoyed totaly but as i drove into this small town turning the conner in car the cathedral was the most impressive building i have seen took me a long time just to walk ronund looking at all this stone carvings in red stone then inside what a place a must see i would say dont miss this if your passing through worth a stop
