Now in its 8th year the Hitchin Wine and Food Festival was a great success at the weekend. Hitchin Market place was packed until dusk settled in with the wine trade carrying on until 6pm

Andrea has worked in the wine trade for well over 20 years, travelling the world sourcing wines for all to enjoy. She became a Master of Wine in 1996 and is one of only 312 fellow Masters of Wine scattered over 24 countries and 6 continents.
Shoppers in Hitchin Market will be treated to a free and thrilling display of acrobatics on Saturday 29th October when Team Kinetix – experts in Parkour, free running and acrobatics, showcase their skills in aid of Herts Air Ambulance.
Emma and Ben Robson own Bat and Bottle Wine Merchants. They buy directly from producers (ie the farm) and sell directly to people who enjoy wine - (ie, normal people - you and I) with a few discerning restaurants in addition. They will be at the Wine and Food Festival on 19th November
Now in its 8th year, Hitchin Wine and Food Festival is run by a team of volunteers from Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary Club and is taking place on 19th November in the Market Place and Church House. This year, local Celebrity Chef Andrew Turner is patron of the festival.

As well as it being Apple Day on 15th October, there will also be purple crocus bulbs for sale in aid of Polio. Please come down 9am-2pm and see the iron lung which until recently was used to treat children with Polio.
BBCs DIY SOS are in Welwyn Garden City in August helping to rebuild a home for a family in need. They are looking for trades to get involved with the build and are holding a trades day on 2nd August.
A great morning of sportsmanship saw over 400 runners in the Hitchin Hard Half, 10K and 5K races
