A great family day out … loads fir all the family

The zoo is reached by following a winding narrow road that is not in good condition but on arrival parking is very good. Access to the zoo is across the road. Expect queues fir entry. Once inside this is the dinosaur part and there are no signs to show you how to access the zoo part. I tried going back out and along the road towards car park but was turned away (rudely) by the man controlling the crossing saying he could only give access via the crossing as the road walk was too dangerous. Oh well. Walked back down the road and in and found my way to the zoo side. Lovely to have so many aerial viewing platforms to see the animals and the info boards were excellent. Keeper talks knowledgeable and entertaining. Toilet facilities very good.

I have to leave a 5 star review because this place was amazing. We took our two boys aged 6 and age 4 (4year old birthday) the dinosaur park was amazing the best I’ve ever seen. My boys loved every bit of it. The shop at the end was very reasonably priced my 4 year old had £30 spending money and he brought 3 mini dinosaurs and a teddy. The stage entertainment was brilliant. Donuts 5 stars. Lots of toilets around. The park was clean. The zoo was great we saw the penguins being fed and lions, tigers, bears all up close. Soft play was fun. The only negative I would say is the price to get in l, just over £100 to get in for 2 adults and 2 children. And the poor guy working in soft play on his own. He needed some help for sure. But that’s doesn’t lose a star because this place is just awesome and we will definitely return :)

Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.

A compact but very well appointed little zoo, with clean and interesting enclosures for the animals and a large animatronic dinosaur trail. Can get very crowded at weekends.

My partner and I had the opportunity to do the Red Panda Experience day yesterday! Was super fun and interactive and just an all round incredible experience. Just wanted to give a massive shout out to Vivien, who lead us through the whole process. You can tell she has lots of love for Ash (and his new girlfriend!) So thank you!!

Hertfordshire Zoo is a lovely day out for families and animal lovers. The enclosures are well kept, and the animals seem happy and active. The staff are friendly and informative, and there’s plenty to see without feeling rushed. A great mix of wildlife, play areas, and peaceful surroundings.

We had such a brilliant day at Hertfordshire Zoo & Dino Park! The place was spotless, the staff were super friendly, and there was so much to do. The animals looked well cared for, the dinosaur park was amazing, and the playground kept the kids happy for ages. The food was tasty and reasonably priced too. Everything was clean and well organised — a perfect family day out! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you!

Always liked this place but hadn't been for a few years. Recently went back and it's better than ever! Loads of new areas which have been designed really well (tiger viewing gallery just one of them!) and all the staff are just as friendly as I remember!

Lovely zoo, smaller and family run, huge clean enclosures, all look new or very close to.
Visible enrichment in the enclosures and lots of staff around working with the animals.
Staff in general really friendly too.
Dinosaur world is incredible, my lad loved it, especially the baby dino show, don't miss it. We went 4 days ago, and it has been the only thing he has talked about since! Will definitely be back!

This is a great place to visit with something for all the family. We are members with annual season tickets which makes it very good value as we live locally. Day tickets are quite expensive so be sure to take a picnic to keep the cost down.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them.

It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.

This zoo has got to be by far the best zoo we have been to in the UK so far!

Initial impressions walking in, we had made the assumption it was small. However, once you’re inside the zoo it is far more spacious than you’d know!

The viewing areas for the animals were phenomenal and being able to view them from high and low, you really get to experience everything.

The dinosaur area was what we went for and it did not disappoint. Every single one had movement and sound and we had a little boy which had his mouth open in surprise the whole way round.

Very happy toddler! Will definitely return!

Nice day out with the family. Good selection of animals including some you would expect like Lions, Tigers, crocodiles. Restaurant is a decent price if there's only a few people going but can be pricey if there's alot of you. Would go again
