Expensive day out but worth it to hand feed the Jaguars, so close yet don't touch as it's just a wire fence between you and them, they are obviously well used to it and were so gentle taking the meat, probably better table manners than some kids 😂

Took advantage of feeding the Meerkats as well which wasn't planned, there was the wise one who knew food was in the bowls, so after cherry picking the sweetest bits that were scattered he came up and claimed both bowls one at a time leaving the others to clear the floor while happily eating his way through both bowls, I snuck a couple of bits out and put them on the log when the others realised the floor was clear, so they turned to the bowl that still had some, but he wasn't going to share it with them 🤣

The food and drink was quite expensive, but I guess it helps keep the animals cared for as that's a never ending battle, being low season there were no queues which was great for me being disabled, and many of the smaller eateries were closed (probably open when it gets too high season or events) which limited you're choices, but had a hard time going around there, doing anything is a challenge, but if you don't push it you go down even faster, some animals were a no show, probably in their hidden quarters, and some you need a very good eye to spot them.

Access for disabled is good overall, bays are by the entrance, some ramps are quite steep but most are fine, the entrance is split so wheelchairs don't have to go all around the ropes while those who are able use the more roped side, missed out on any 'shows' there may have been as we were just trying to cover as much as we could and getting to the experiences took all I had in me, long day time to collapse and recover now I'm home again.

What a beautiful day out this place offers. Was amazing to see the animatronic dinosaurs and the zoo animals were interesting and close to observe so that was cool. One of the best we visited. We especially appreciated how they had “warnings” telling us about how certain areas may be ( environment wise) so neurodivergent people know what to expect in said areas which helped us with our ASD kid. Will definitely be back. In the meantime I will follow them on the socials as their videos are great!

Nice zoo, animals seem relatively happy although enclosures aren’t huge. The food options are awful (the pepperoni pizza in particular) and prohibitively expensive though. Friendly staff.

A great educational day out for the whole family
We had a brilliant time at Hertfordshire Zoo. What sets it apart is the focus on knowledge; it’s not just about seeing the animals, but truly understanding their habitats and lifestyles. It was just as engaging for the adults as it was for the kids. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun yet educational trip.

Great zoo! Loved the high viewing platforms, and cleverly thought-out enclosures. Even though it was a busy weekend, it never felt crowded. Saw almost all the animals.

I have visited a lot of zoos in the UK and this one is by far the best in the UK. The conservation work Hertfordshire Zoo do is amazing.

This is a wonderful attraction for families with children. The animals are in lovely environments with an amazing variety of ways to view them. The dinosaur exhibits are the best I have ever seen. There are things to do when the kids have had enough of animals. The catering is quite nice, more so in fine weather because there is plenty of outdoor seating. The only issue is the slow queues to get in. They need to be speeded up somehow.

We haven't been here for a few years and it has improved considerably. The animal enclosures are brilliant and very different to other zoos.
My son loves Lemurs so I think we will be back when their new enclosure is opened.
Its a shame the road splits both parts of the zoo, but it works well and im sad that you dont walk out through the shop anymore, although with a high presence of security in the shops they didnt feel very comfortable.
My sons loved the dinosaur park and enjoyed the train ride, although for the cost i feel there are some empty spots and other random bits and bobs on the journey that could do with sorting.
Shame the soft play is only up to age 7 but the dinosaur dig was a hit.
Was really great that there were so many picnic benches available dotted around especially when bringing your own food.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a great day out with the family. There is a wide variety of animals to see, aswell as informative talks about the animals throughout the day. You can purchase up close animal experiences for an additional cost. There is also a dinosaur exhibit, plenty of gift shops and places to grab a bite to eat. We have visited a couple of times and would come back again.

Nice zoo overall. It’s clean and well looked after, and the animals seem healthy and well cared for. The ticket price is reasonable, especially since you also get access to the dinosaur park, which is a nice extra.

The zoo is a bit on the smaller side, but still a good place to visit, especially for a short trip or with kids.

Visited with family on a busy Easter week. Although it was busy it was a really good day out and although not very big there’s plenty to look at, various places to eat and things to do. The dinosaur world tour was pretty good with realistic dinosaurs and a couple of good photo spots. Lots of animals to see which looked well cared for. I don’t remember much about their part in animal welfare and habitats but I might have missed it. Exit was a bit weird as there was a long queue to get through the double gate and there were a few potholes on the approach road. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was the usual comfort food. The ice cream kiosk was good.

Loved it. Very simply laid out Zoo, some incredible views of the Tiger from the pizza bar.

The meerkat experience was delightful apart from the keeper throwing 95% of the food onto the floor and leaving very little for the lad and I to feed them from the bowls.

Cant fault the place though well worth a visit. If it was closer a season ticket would probably be a good idea.

Great zoo. Lots to see and do. Get there early to avoid parking in the remote car park! Doesn't accept cash anywhere in the park.

Just wanted to say this is a beautiful zoo, small but the animals are so well looked after and it so enjoyable to wander around with plenty of places to sit. The park is clean and the keepers and all the staff are super friendly.
I recently asked them to organise a card for my sister's 60th. I took the card in expecting a handful of signatures, but instead there were a lot of signatures from all animal departments and personal messages. My sister loved it. Shout out to Maisie and Sharon.
