great zoo, big enough there is plenty there, small enough to get around, great prices for food and drink, will be taking the kids back in the summer

Visited with family on a busy Easter week. Although it was busy it was a really good day out and although not very big there’s plenty to look at, various places to eat and things to do. The dinosaur world tour was pretty good with realistic dinosaurs and a couple of good photo spots. Lots of animals to see which looked well cared for. I don’t remember much about their part in animal welfare and habitats but I might have missed it. Exit was a bit weird as there was a long queue to get through the double gate and there were a few potholes on the approach road. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was the usual comfort food. The ice cream kiosk was good.

Loved it. Very simply laid out Zoo, some incredible views of the Tiger from the pizza bar.

The meerkat experience was delightful apart from the keeper throwing 95% of the food onto the floor and leaving very little for the lad and I to feed them from the bowls.

Cant fault the place though well worth a visit. If it was closer a season ticket would probably be a good idea.

Great zoo. Lots to see and do. Get there early to avoid parking in the remote car park! Doesn't accept cash anywhere in the park.

Just wanted to say this is a beautiful zoo, small but the animals are so well looked after and it so enjoyable to wander around with plenty of places to sit. The park is clean and the keepers and all the staff are super friendly.
I recently asked them to organise a card for my sister's 60th. I took the card in expecting a handful of signatures, but instead there were a lot of signatures from all animal departments and personal messages. My sister loved it. Shout out to Maisie and Sharon.

What a delightful experience we all had Easter Monday, very helpful staff who guided us to the spacious disabled parking, we were all amazed at the dinosaur park, we saw big cats and red pandas. The whole zoo was well maintained. Can highly recommend to visit.

Brilliant Zoo.
The enclosures seem quite new and everything is well looked after.
The zoo is a great size that you can walk round the whole site without it being too much for the kids (6 and 4).
The dinosaur wood and playground was also great fun.
First time we’ve been and we will definitely go again!!

We had a fantastic day out at Hertfordshire Zoo and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great family experience.

First impressions were excellent – the car park was well-organised and easy to navigate, which made arriving stress-free. The entrance process was smooth and efficient, and we were quickly on our way to exploring. Every member of staff we encountered was incredibly helpful and friendly, which really added to the welcoming atmosphere.

The grounds were clean, tidy, and clearly well cared for, with a great selection of animals to see. There was plenty to keep us engaged throughout the day, and everything felt thoughtfully laid out.

A real highlight was Dinosaur World – it was absolutely outstanding and a big hit with everyone in our group. Another standout experience was the bird of prey demonstration, which was both very informative and enjoyable to watch.

Overall, it was a brilliant visit from start to finish. We would definitely recommend Hertfordshire Zoo and will certainly be returning again in the future!

An really good family day out. We were lucky to go on a lovely sunny day in the school holidays and spent the whole day there from 10.30 until 5pm. The keepers we spoke to were wonderful with our two children, answering their questions and asking their own to find out what our kids were interested in. Yes, the food and drinks are a little pricey and the Rex Express train isn't good (at £2 per passenger, no leg room and a long queue - caused by the fact the driver had to take payment and get everyone seated by themselves), but all in all our kids loved the dinosaur world and playground areas. Our favourite parts of the day were the keeper talks and sticking around until late in the day made it feel like we had the place to ourselves. If you're not in a rush, make sure you stay until at least 4.30, when it's quieter and you can get the best views of the animals. Yes, it's an expensive day but it's worth it and we'll be back... we might just bring a picnic and skip the train next time.

First time back with our young Grandson, after a 10 year gap.
He absolutely adored the Dinosaur park, so life like and real.
Although it was Easter Monday and very busy, there was plenty of room and easy to move from area to area.
Watching the Lions and Tiger enjoying the Spring sunshine made our day.
Well done to all involved, superb day out.

2nd time coming here, just as good as the 1st. Our two young kids absolutely loved the dinosaurs and found the zoo animals amazing. They made the most of the playground and the soft play and didn't want to leave. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially the security guard in the dinosaur shop. Would highly recommend for a family day out

It was the first time I have been since it was Paradise and I was amazed at all the updates!
We came with my sister who is disabled, they have changing places with left and right handed transfer to proper changing beds with hoists which a lots of places do not have!
All staff were very approachable, helpful and friendly.
It was just amazing, we cant wait to come again!

Very nice zoo. Enclosures are nice sized and the park was clean and tidy.

Only down side was the slow waiting time for food and drinks. The staff seemed unbothered.

I went with my 22-month-old son. It's best to arrive around 10 a.m. for convenient parking. The dinosaurs alone are worth the price of admission, honestly; Ryan loves it! We saw many animals that captured our attention, especially tigers and lions, although they weren't very active, but we were able to appreciate their beauty. Overall, it's a great place to spend half a day with an infant, or even the whole day when he's at least 3 or 4 years old. Today was a special day for us, as we met Paddington Bear at the zoo event. We can't wait to go back!
