Great place for younger children with lots to do. Lost one star as no where takes cash.

Massive improvements from the last time I was there many years ago. However, some disappointment was that the memberships now lost a few benefits such as the train ride and golf etc. Also the queue to enter was taking quite a while as the payment system was being temperamental, so whether you prebooked tickets or not it meant everyone was waiting anyway!

A really wonderful day out. The mini golf, great play area and a big soft play make it a good one for a season pass. A lot of the enclosures have been recently renovated and look brilliant. It's a lovely place to spend a day

I knew most places are cashless, but it does not say this on their website. Only about food vendors within the zoo it's self, I believe they need to update their policy on blue light cards with notice to veterans also. With all this was a good day out and a very clean and upto date zoo

New Lions Of India experience is really great. We went on Easter Holidays, and had a really nice time with the family.

I would recommend to visit it near Afternoons as that’s where the Big Cats are mostly active.

I can never understand why there's always an extra charge for the train, just include it in the gate price!
Also you will sell a lot more food and drink if the prices are reasonable, £2.49 for a tea? £2.99 for a coke !
Food was expensive aswell, tables not clean, bins full and never any sugar replenished, when you pay this sort of money you at least expect clean areas to eat.
Definitely take your own food and drink, zoo was good, paddling pool looked good and dinosaur area was good as well, just that attraction way of ripping you off with the extras and food and drink

First time visiting Hertfordshire Zoo, we travelled up from Cornwall to take our son here for his 3rd birthday. The zoo is pretty big, lots to see and do. Little train, play park, slides etc. lots of outdoor and indoor seating areas. The food we had was underwhelming, tables not clean and some of the toilets we used were not very clean throughout, overall was a nice family day out.

Amazing family day out!

We had a fantastic time at Hertfordshire Zoo. The park is very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. There’s a huge variety of animals — from big cats and monkeys to reptiles and exotic birds — all looking healthy and well cared for.

One of the highlights is the World of Dinosaurs near the entrance — a brilliant, interactive trail featuring life-sized animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar! Kids absolutely loved it.

There’s also a great café with a good selection of hot food, drinks, and snacks, plus plenty of places to sit and relax throughout the park. You can tell the staff really care about the animals and the visitor experience.

Highly recommend for families or anyone who enjoys animals and nature. Definitely one of the best zoos we’ve been to!

Went on a slightly drizzly day in the Easter holidays. Enjoyable experience for 3yr old and adults. Wasn't crowded mainly due to the weather. Best bit for 3yr old was the dinosaur train and sand pi. Best bit for adults was the dino walk. Could have spent longer. Knowledgeable friendly keepers, genuinely proud of what they do. Will visit again.

Hertfordshire zoo was an amazing experience. Lots of cute animals, nice shops, lovely food and enough seating areas and toilets. All of the staff are very nice, helpful and friendly. My favourite animal was the snow leopard. I was also blown away with with the dinosaur bit.Strongly recommend hertfordshire zoo to anyone who loves animals and is looking for a great zoo to go to.😀👍
