Nice enough Zoo. We had two free entrance tickets so only needed to pay for children (11 and 13). This zoo is definitely aimed at the younger children. So many young kids playgrounds, soft plays etc. The dinosaurs were interesting and children loved reading the facts about them. More information would have been better. The models were very realistic and moved. The animals are really nice. It was great to see so many big cats.
But....
The zoo is small for the entrance fee. You see everything in 4 hours.
Colchester zoo charges much less and is in comparison massive.
Yes we had a nice day out due to the free tickets. But would we return? No. It's not aimed at older children and there is not enough to see to go back anytime soon.

Absolutely brilliant day, we met up with my son, daughter in law & 2 grandsons. They loved it, so much to do & see, they loved the dinosaurs. The weather was perfect too, what more could you ask for. Thank you for a fantastic day out, it's definitely worth a visit 😊 🦕🦖🦁🐒🐫

We went on a Saturday in early October, grandparent with 2 families including 3 grandchildren under 5 arriving from 3-directions. It’s expensive, but we were there for 5-hours. The dinosaur walk is animatronic and impressed a sceptic like me. The 3-yr old balked at the 2 T-Rex display which was loud, so be prepared. The zoo itself has White Lions, Tigers, Jaguars and Bears in large paddocks. We watched the Bird of Prey display, feeding the penguins and there were other talks going on. The restaurant sold burgers but also had a few veggie options and a kids menu including sausages including a pasta dish. The self-service was remarkably quick considering the volume. There is a kids playground, but I was sitting down exhausted minding the baby by that stage.
Helped by remarkably good weather for October the Wildlife Park was much better than I’d expected. They ask you to pre-book online.

Great place for the whole family and plenty to keep the kids entertained. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the unnecessary repetitive noises and jurassic park theme tune continuously playing throughout the dinosaur part. It really spoils the experience, and tbh all I could think the whole time was them poor Wolves having to put up with it.

Zoos aren't very fashionable nowadays but this one proves they still have a role in educating children about nature. For example, you can get closer than most other zoos to the big cats, thanks to the medium size enclosures, and their charity and conservation work is explained clearly at a level kids can understand. Lots of other activities for kids too with the added bonus of a fun 'dinosaur park' (and what kids don't know the name of all the dinos by the age of 6??). Well worth a visit.

Wonderful for all ages. Most enclosures have huge thick glass panels so you can actually see the animals at all times.

Awesome, how delightful youve finished what you have so far.... such an amazing Zoo. YES HERTFORDSHIRE ZOO! its what is absolutely NEEDED. can you please provide a good vegan and vegetarian selection of food for your customers too, as some have this strict diet forced on us out of health problems... and eating at your establishment helps to provide extra income to you.... thank you too for excellent staff who go out of there way to provide a little extra at no cost, like your delightful staff at the cafe overlooking the lions and tigers upstairs... her additional knowledge was invaluable... and the cleanliness of the park was perfect... thank you for an excellent day out. This was worth every pound😉 cashless is definitely a great idea...

Wonderful day out my Grandaughter loved the dinosaurs 🦕 they were so good. My husband and I loved the big cats. Had a lovely lunch which was very reasonable. I would highly recommend everyone to go and visit.

This is great value for money. We loved our experience here with the Dinosaur bit being a highlight. The food was reasonably priced and delicious and we loved seeing the animals too. We can't wait to return!

Great views of the animals and lots of them were active too (compared to some zoos where they can be hard to spot or just sleeping!) Good keeper talks, cafe good too. Could maybe do with a few more signposts. Overall a great day out.

Amazing place. So much to do here. Has a discovery centre on site too. Could've spent all day here and still not have got bored. Dinosaur walk through is brilliant, all animatronic ones. Animal viewing areas get you so close to the animals.
