My feeling upon leaving this superb, medium-sized zoo was that someone with great powers of imagination and organisation is behind it. I could not see how it could have been improved upon.
First impressions are that there are a heck of a lot of childrens amusements and, initially my heart sunk as none of our party were under 30 and it looked as if the emphasis was massively skewed towards kids.
But I was wrong.
There are, indeed, a lot of facilities aimed at kids. They look great fun and I shall certainly recommend the place to friends who are parents. But the zones containing the playgrounds and games were separate from the areas exhibitting the animals and the effect, far from overpowering the zoo with amusements, was that the playgrounds were full of capering kids leaving the zoo areas relatively calm and peaceful.
There is a good range of animals considering the relatively small scale of the zoo. Big cats are very well represented, whilst lemurs, gibbons, reptiles, camels and many others make an appearance.
Staff give interesting talks at various of the enclosures. We did not have time to attend many but particularly enjoyed the gentleman who spoke about the history and prehistory of the cheetah.
The animals appear very well cared for and the attractive enclosures are clearly designed with their welfare as the first priority. However, visibility is good, particularly enhanced by an impressive complex of raised wooden walkways.
The surroundings are pleasant, wooded and green and zoo buildings constructed tastefully in wood.
The zoo is well provided with places to eat and drink which, unlike many other zoo cafes, are a pleasure to use. This is achieved by having more, smaller cafes rather than vast eating halls, by decorating them tastefully, by providing good quality food and drink and by placing some of the cafes so that you can view animals from your table. Many a zoo could learn from this.
As a wildlife enthusiast, I have visited zos frequently since childhood and always enjoy them, from the point of view of seeing the animals. But it is seldom that I feel I have had so thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable an experience in all respects.
Well done Paradise Park, you can be proud of your zoo.

I fully enjoyed this day out with the family good selections of animals and things for all ages. be careful as when you first go in there is a lot of rides that are charged £1 each but if you o past these you will find plenty of play areas for children of all sizes and bouncy castles and slides which are totally free. The free shows especially the bird show are worth a visit with keepers having a good knowledge and enthusiasm for the animals. However, the animal feeds did not have this same feeling with the keeper sounding unintrested and not confident in what he was saying (may have been a new keeper in which case I hope he will learn from the other presenters). The other downside is the place does look a little dated but when we visited large parts of the park were closed for refurbishment so I think they are aware of this. A lot of the hand sanitizers were empty and I felt there could have been more wash facilities around the petting areas.

This day out was a gift from my sister, we had an experience with the wolves booked which was amazing!!! All the staff were very friendly and as we had particularly bad weather on the day we visited they even loaned us an umbrella to keep the rain off, spent the entire day there loads to do and nice snug places to have a cuppa.

We took our two grandchildren to Paradise Wildlife Park, firstly they charge an extra £3 for parking, where else is there to park?? The cost for two children ( 4 and 6 years old) and two adults is £60 and once inside almost everything is extra, almost as soon as you walk through the gates you are putting a £1 in different rides and the kids are disappointed that they cant go on them when you say no, a burger or a hot dog £4.20!! I don't think so! A lot of the animals didn't seem to be there, the play areas are not bad but the "show" at different times of the day are pathetic. All in all , we'd never go back, the kids thought it was OK, but even they are in no hurry to go back. Should be re-named, "Not exactly Paradise Wildlife Park"

Large playground outside with various free rides throughout the park, eg Helter Skelter, bouncy castles etc.Enjoyed the free shows and talks, watched the animals being fed, loved the otters so cute dident know they are mice.
loved getting close to the big cats especially the White lions gorgeous. saw all the animals, spent a whole day there and dident get bored once. even a splash pool which we dident have time to use. Definitely recommend as a day out..

Easily accessible and easy route to follow. Saw all the animals (unlike the zoo as they are so vast) decent food and splash pool. All in all a lovely day out.

Beautiful animals in wonderful condition, guide was informative. Only cat that was elusive was the White tiger, he stayed hidden all morning! Breakfast is pleasant. This park is big on conservation and all the animals are in top condition and seem very content. Good layout to this park and not widespread, lovely day out for the family.

There's a lot worth seeing at Paradise Wildlife Park but bear in mind it is targeted at the "Hello Kitty" age range so for my 9 year old that's a lot of the park that has no interest for her. That said she is animal mad so that was our main reason for going. All the children's activities were too small for her apart from some outdoor play activity. I was disappointed that after paying the entrance fee we came away earlier than I had hoped ( we left early afternoon) that's despite repeated visits to see our favourite animals. I also think that whilst there is a £3 per vehicle levy as it is a pay on exit scheme I can't see the barriers being taken away once the cost of the car park has been met.

The park overall is clean (although the gibbons enclosure window was a sight to behold💩). We came especially to see the white tiger and the snow leopards so boxes ticked there. We couldn't find the Ocelot but presumably it was hiding! Whilst the animals all look well cared for I was concerned to see the size of the enclosures which are way too small for nearly all exhibits which was very saddening. We went to the Red Panda talk and the PA was of poor quality. We also went on the Woodland Walk but couldn't do the Dinosaur trail as it looked like by being by train only.

Staff seemed to be happy and were helpful when approached.

There are plenty of seats as well as picnic area dotted about the park and we were glad to sit looking out at the Red pandas. The Tiger tree top cafe gives you a birds eye view of the Tigers which is really special although we only sneaked in for a picture.

There is also a paddling pool (Paradise Lagoon) which would be brilliant on hotter days. We also had a tractor ride and it helped us get a feel of what is in the park.

Given the number of wheelchairs it obviously is wheelchair friendly. You can hire out little cars for children from the gift shop for £2.50 per hour or £5 per day. We preferred the gifts at the volunteer stall just by the Red Panda enclosure.

More to like than not but not a full days entertainment which is a shame given the entrance fee.

Went here with our 2 year old. Expensive to get in but we used a £10 off voucher so reduced the price. I think it's cheeky charging £3 for parking - it's not as if there is anything else in the area taking advantage of the parking. Also think it's cheeky charging £1 each for the train ride - although the man operating the train was very friendly and called everyone young sir and young lady even the kids! Park laid out well. Lots and lots of play areas. Lots of opportunities for them to take more money from you (coin operated rides, little car racing things, squirty water games, face painting etc). We heard the male lion roaring throughout the day which was cool. Toilets needing cleaning. Sam's safari dinner had good food but expensive. Had a fun day out seeing all the different animals

My children of 9 and 7 loved the park, lovely animals and little paddling pool ( summer only I think ). I'd say perfect size as not too big and not small. Nice tractor ride around the park .

Since I last went within 6 months the car park is now £3 which I thought was a bit much really and a train ride for a £1 per person when u can walk round it within 5 mins. I'd say take a packed lunch as cafe / restaurants are very expensive, there's lots of picnic tables around.

Overall a good day out which my children enjoyed and that's what's it all about..

Google discount for paradise park there's normally 20% vouchers around and it's cheaper than booking online as you only save £1 per person.

Very surprised by prices of entry for what really is a 3 star wildlife park , walkways are narrow so push chair congestion everywhere . Animal displays put me in mind of parks in the 70s . Limited display as "works " but they've got the cheek to charge full price ! No this place has had its day won't be returning .

Great place to take your family! All the staff are friendly and helpful. It isn't the biggest wildlife park but it is perfect size for the smaller children.

I went with friends and did enjoy myself, but feel the place is more suited to familys. It is wonderful if you have young children as the place isn't too large and there are lots of things to keep the children entertained. There is a good varity of animals and various activities happening throughout the day. We felt that some of the enclosures were a little tired and some a little too small (the lions in particular looked bored). They are improving many of the exhibits though, so please support this small local attraction

Paradise wildlife Park is a family run business and it shows. No attention to detail is overlooked. A really fun and educational place to go for all the family and if you fancy it, book to feed a big cat or meet the Meerkats or Lemurs up close! There is so much to do that one trip is never enough.

There are cafeterias for lunch or refreshments. If you have kids, there is so much for them to do, miniature railway, bouncy castles, crazy golf, electric rides and slides etc... They will love it.

For a romantic couple's day out its just as wonderful. Take your camera you will want to capture everything.

Lovely place, took 18 month grandson there, he loved the animals. Lots of food places, but wasn't happy with the restaurant we picked, too expensive considering we didn't finish it, as wasn't cooked through, wasn't worth complaining, took long enough queueing up for food and finding a clean empty table, just wasn't in the right frame of mind to queue all over again, and debate state of food. Loved walking round and seeing all the animals, and that is what visiting these sorts of places are really all about, so will go again, just won't eat in same place.

Took my 2 year old grandson who loved the animals. I have to say though, bitterly disappointed about having to pay £1 for all the little rides on the train, the roundabouts, cars the water squirter and the digger etc... If you had more than one child the cost would spiral considering it isn't cheap to get into the park in the first place. You even have to buy a bucket to play in the sand pit! A staff member even agreed with me...
Other similar farm/zoo attractions in the vicinity include all the little rides etc so much better value for money if you had several children. Also having to pay £3 to park your car is outrageous!
That said, animals and park kept in supreme condition!

We visited PWP with the nieces and it did not disappoint. A fantastic afternoon out, but could easily spend the whole day there.

There are lots of different animals to see. Something for all the kids, especially with different age ranges, they were all interested in different animals and learnt about many more along the way.

Along with the animals, there were lots of play areas in the zoo between seeing the animals and lots of benches to take a quick rest.
The great thing about PWP is that it isnt too big so the kiddies don't end up getting too tired, lots of places to take a pit stop and the play areas also break up the visit. so they don't get bored of just walking around and looking at animals.
To entice them round the animals we promised them time in the main play area at the end and they loved it.
Best part of the trip for me was the meerkats - an aeroplane was flying over and every single one of them stood on their hind legs and were looking up at the sky in awe. Great to see.

This is the second time we have been to the Park as my daughter has done the Meerkhat and Lema experiences (which were both fab). I wished I had known about this zoo when our kids were young (particularly under 7's) as it has so much there to do apart from of course the Zoo itself there is a splash area, play zone, park, picnic areas etc. This is a lovely family run Zoo and what I liked about it is that you could get really close to seeing the animals. The staff are all really enthusiastic too.

Please note that there is now a £3 charge for the car park. I believe due to health and safety madness they have been made to put in a very expensive tarmacked car park and they need to recoup this money some how. At the end of the day we need to ensure that the profits go as much as possible to the keep of the animals which I believe this zoo is doing.
