I recently visited Hertfordshire Zoo and had a fantastic day out!

The variety of animals was impressive, and the enclosures were well-maintained, providing a natural and spacious environment for the inhabitants. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to share interesting facts and answer questions. The only downside was the price, which felt a bit steep. Despite this, it's a wonderful day out that I highly recommend!

What a wonderful place. Visited with our friends & their 2 disabled children. Had an amazing day enjoying the World of Dinosaurs & World of Animals. Very busy later in the day but plenty of space for all to enjoy this amazing zoo. Lots of food/ice cream/drinks outlets at very reasonable prices. e.g. a bowl of skin-on fries was £2.40. Loads of photo opportunities. Several gift shops selling all the usual soft toys etc. also tucked away is the lovely Conservation Shop which sell more unusual gifts. The staff were brilliant and the kids loved meeting the dinosaurs (Stage show) Lots of places to sit & picnic with shaded areas to get out of the sun. Plenty of free parking & a dedicated area for Blue Badges which was great for our wheelchair access. Would recommend this place to young & old.

It is quite expensive, as the animals there are mainly the smaller animals.
The only large animals there were the tiger, leopard, zebra and Camel.
They should have family deals or prices reduced. As with a bit more you could go to a wildlife Safari instead.

Can get around to seeing all the animals in 3 hrs.
Which left plenty of time to spend in the water park area.
The water area is a bit of a disappointment, could have deeper water, and maybe like sprinklers or bucket drop water play.
It is quite small.
However the kids enjoyed it, spent 2hrs here, and it was a great way to cool off.

They also have an indoor soft play area, and two large playground areas, so to end the day the kids spent in the playground 1hr.

It is better suited for kids under 9. But it was good to spend time with the family.

The Dino experience piece is good other than your have to pay for a train which is pretty rubbish. The zoo side is small and ok but it's just not worth the cost £55 for one adult and one child... Plus food and the train.Visited on

Absolutely the best zoo we have been to! We got there early for a full day out. Even from queueing we could tell the zoo was designed to engage children. The park staff were phenomenal. Could not do enough and really went the extra mile to help make our girls dreams come true, special thanks to Chris and Becky!
So much to cram in to one day, we didn’t manage it all.
Plenty of places to stop for drinks, snacks and food. Really child friendly, we took our two and six year olds, they both loved it.
Honestly cannot say enough good things! Such a wonderful place ❤️

Hi,

I enjoyed visiting the zoo today in this lovely weather. The atmosphere is very calm and amazing animals onsite. The world of dinosaurs was astonishing as well.

They have great facilities, such toilets, play area for kids, Zoo shop etc. Thank you for your service.

Take care and I recommend coming here if you want to visit with kids and explore during summer especially.

Great day out to be had here. The new dinosaurs were really good as these were not here last time we came. We brought a picnic this time as the food was just ok last time.

My 9 y/o wildlife and dinosaur is a big fan of the zoo having watched the TV show. Love the recent addition of dinosaurs, the bears and the splash pad.
Only complaint is there is nowhere to fill up water bottles.

I normally find Zoo trips are mired by the odd failure in services, like bad toilets or badly maintained facilities, however Hertfordshire Zio had really well presented enclosures, an amazing dinosaur area, play parks, quality resteraunts and friendly staff.

Everyone we spoke to seems very happy and proud of their work, from the ladies in the donut stand all the way through to the people giving talks, putting on shows for the children and even toilet and facility staff.

I was really impressed with the whole site and the enclosures for the animals were well laid out, the animals didn't seem agitated or unhappy with their surroundings and the keepers genuinely cared for them.

Of all the Zoo's I've been to, I think this has to be my new favourite.

We went to one of the summer evenings. It was far too busy if I'm honest and felt a bit disorganised with starting in the car park so not sure I would go again, it's much better on a normal dayVisited on
