Cool place, very quiet and peaceful. There's real size dinosaur park, which was somewhat cooler than lions or tigers which ones we didn't even see, because apparently they were hiding somewhere. Snow leopard saved the day though, it was literally next to the window having a lunchtime.

Visited Hertfordshire Zoo on a scorching 30°C day, which made it tough to spot many animals as they were wisely hiding from the heat. Understandable, but a bit disappointing for visitors hoping to see more wildlife up close. The variety of animals felt a bit limited, nothing you wouldn't typically see in other safari parks.
Food options were quite limited and on the pricey side, but to be fair, the quality was fine and did the job. Staff were friendly and the grounds were well-kept, but overall, it didn’t quite live up to expectations given the entry price.
Worth a visit if you're local or haven't been to other zoos, but maybe not a must-see on a hot summer day.

Hertfordshire Zoo was decent, with some highlights like the sun bears and raised viewing platforms that offer a unique perspective. The park is clean, and the staff are friendly, but I was disappointed by how many animals weren’t visible during my visit—snow leopards and others were nowhere to be seen, which was a letdown. Compared to Colchester Zoo, it feels less impressive; Colchester has a wider variety of animals, better enclosures, and I found the animals there more active and easier to spot. Hertfordshire’s World of Dinosaurs and play areas are nice for kids, but overall, Colchester offers a more engaging experien

Best place to be especially for families with children.
There are so many activities at the zoo that the kids will absolutely love.
There is a soft play are too, in case the weather conditions are bad.
There is a pool too that is opened on summer time.

Fabulous day out and plenty to keep the children amused. The zoo keepers are friendly and very knowledgeable. The animal talks are informative and interesting. The food outlets are varied and the portion sizes are large at a very reasonable price. All the staff are friendly and helpful when you get lost !!! The animals are in great condition and have enrichment throughout the day. I would highly recommend Hertfordshire Zoo as a fantastic family day out and we will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful day out as a couple, differently a site you can spend a good 4 hours at. Would recommend buying tickets before you arrive.

A really lovely place to visit. Very clean, great range of animals, friendly staff, nice enclosures too. Easy to get around with a pushchair. Great animal talks and shows throughout the day. A brilliant day out for children and adults. Highly recommended.

I took my 3 years old niece and it’s her fav place now. There is mini pool, indoor soft area, outdoor play area, dinosaur park and of course an awesome zoo. You can’t beat this place for variety to activities. I am now thinking of getting annual pass.

1st time visitor. Booked the Capybara experience which was amazing to feed and give scritches to Manny and Maple
Chole the keeper was very informative about the Capybaras. The enclosures were well thought out and was large enough to enjoy a whole day there.
Will definitely visit again.

I am not a fan of zoos normally but these guys are trying their best to care for and enrich the lives of these wonderful species all at risk of future extinction at the hands of horrid selfish greedy humans. There wasn't a single member of staff who was unhelpful or rude in fact the total opposite, all of them were super helpful chatty kind and pleasant and very knowledgeable ( vivian/jess/hannah to name a few)
They all deserve a huge bonus and a million thanks at the super effort they are making. I loved my day/ evening at the zoo ...thanks a million guys

Decent zoo - more applicable to young kids. Our 10 year old found the dinosaur park a little boring. Nice large cats, pity many of the food stalls were not open even though it being a Monday in June. Tuna sandwich from main canteen was good. Also, please ensure the train runs more often, it was closed both when arriving at and leaving the zoo.

Fantastic zoo. Family loved every part of it. The only one negative is there isn’t enough food variety but the chip stand was nice. Kids enjoyed the whole day. Highly recommend

We Travelled up from Kent to experience all that Hertfordshire Zoo had to offer and wow, it was most definitely worth the trip. Our visit was born out our sons obsession with the TV show 1 zoo 3 based on the zoo and he was completely overwhelmed and somewhat starstruck when we got to meet Aaron Whitnall in person. We would definitely recommend a visit and suggest buying tickets in advance just to aid access.
