Have just stayed again at this hotel and it was even better than I remembered. The staff were so amazing, I cannot praise them enough. They are so welcoming and helpful and really looked after us whilst we were there. We also tried the spa facilities this time and they were fantastic. We will definitely be returning again.

Stayed 15-19th September. Good room and nice setting. Sadly poor service. Ordered room service one evening - it took four visits to get the right food, drink and cutlery, by which time the food was cold. Good food at breakfast - just a shame that the waiters prowl around waiting to take plates etc away - often before they are even finished with.

Stayed for 7 nights 6-13th September 2014. Three people in our party in two rooms. All facilities excellent. Breakfast was amazing, unbelievable amount of choice. Nice clean rooms both with a balcony. Bathrobes and bottles of water available. We all used the swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi (best Jacuzzi we have been in) great facilities. The changing rooms set up is a bit strange as you have to walk through to reception from the changing rooms in your robe to get to the entrance to the pool.

All staff were very helpful, got some great tips for places to eat from the concierge. We ate once in the Victor Hugo Restaurant, the food was good but bottles of wine seemed expensive compared to restaurants in St Peters Port. We also ate in the bar on one evening, table cloths gave a nice touch, food was absolutely fine. Some of the drinks prices in the bar could be expensive but always served with olives, wasabi nuts and peanuts. The facilities of the hotel is great as it is set in it's own grounds including tennis courts, golf course and a lake. The hotel has a car park, but as the bus service in Guernsey is brilliant; buses 4 times an hour just down the road from the hotel. Definitely would return.

4th visit here, arrived 4 September and didn't want to leave. Still as good since Hand Picked Hotels took over. Breakfast had even more choices. Concierges excellent, even when I locked our key in the room! Looking forward already to our 2015 visit

After an error on the room allocation the porter dealt with it swiftly and ensured a suitable room was allocated. The new room had a beautiful view of the rear of the property and was very comfortably furnished, even having an Nespresso machine, so I believe we may have received an upgrade. I didn't expect the rooms in this hotel to be so warm in early September, upon check-out I did hear other guests on reception being offered fans so if I had raised this then I am sure I would have been offered the same.

We had a comfortable 3 night stay. We had two rooms a double and a twin for our sons.
The rooms were a good size and the beds large and comfortable, everything worked and the bathroom was clean and functional. Some of the public areas are a little tired. The staff were excellent, professional and service orientated.
It's a pity the wifi was not better, very poor signal on the fourth floor, i would expect better coverage in a hotel that caters for conferences. How much would that cost in the scheme of things to remedy ?
We did not eat in the hotel apart from breakfast which was a buffet with a good choice. It's a pity that hotel restaurants always seem to charge a premium for lunch or dinner and when there is so much choice locally I would expect it to up the ante. Usually they are busy with functions and I suppose that brings in the money which i would say this hotel caters well for.

Very good hotel, excellent facilities in a lovely setting. Various eating options, comfortable bedrooms and public rooms. Conveniently situated for St. Peter Port and touring. Professional and amenable staff. A really very enjoyable experience.

We stayed here for 3 days at the beginning of September.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was clean and the grounds were very attractive. A great breakfast spread and the beds were very comfortable.

On the down side the walls were paper thin so it was quite noisy. Don't know if it was just our room but furnitture looked as if it was in real need of an upgrade. No air con in our room so baffled why they had a 10 tog duvet on. It was far too stuffy to sleep really well. Did eat in te restaurant one night. It was ok but nothing special. This is a complaint about all hotels but why charge so much in hotel bars? Would have had more drinks there as lovely view over the lake but far too pricey.

About 25 minute walk into town but new that when booking. Overall it was ok but not sure I would say merited it's 4 star grade.

I have stayed here several times and I would endorse the comments made by the reviewer in February who complained of the mobile phone mast EXCEPT for the comments on the mast.

I stayed there in 2013 and haven't made a review but felt compelled to do so because the February review was grossly unfair on that one point.

The comment about the phone mast was misleading if not a bit 'chicken licken' . The emissions from the mast according to Guernsey Regulator surveys are between 3,000 and 11,000 times lower than EU recommended minima. In other words you'd get more radiation using your own phone.

So with such as silly comment can we rely on the rest of the review?
In my experience the hotel food was poor, at times the services is indifferent and the hotel is not as near the centre of town as it presents itself. However its grounds are pleasant, the hotel is clean, and facilities are good- Except for peak times it represents good value. It was wonderfully quiet the last time I stayed and I rather liked it.But as the other reviewer pointed out it caters for business/inclusive tours/airlines and can suddenly fill up, as happened on a previous trip, which leads to queues at front desk and a busy bar and restaurant. In my previous experience service in the bar and restaurant did not suffer but front desk struggled to cope.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel, with its pretty garden and lake. Very good welcoming at the reception, and the room was clean and pleasant, provided with good quality of coffees and teas. The breakfast was great, the food excellent and served by a very pleasant and efficient personnel. Would return with great pleasure!

Stayed for four nights September 2014 with my husband and two friends. It was a very pleasant hotel. The rooms were large and the super king bed was extremely comfortable. Large balcony. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Bottles of drinking water were supplied and replenished without charge. Bathroom was large with plenty of toiletries and clean fluffy towels. Made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. No complaints at all. Towels and bathrobes were always available. The location was good. Buses to St Peter Port pass by regularly and more or less on time and there is a flat fare of £1,anywhere on the island. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the restaurants as we didn't eat at the hotel. Breakfast, however, was excellent with lots of choice at the buffet and items you could order from the menu. The drinks in the bar were very expensive so we didn't linger too long. However, when we did have a pre dinner drink or a nightcap light snacks (olives, wasabi nuts, peanuts) were always supplied. Overall if you are going to Guernsey and want a good hotel in a good location you won't go far wrong with this one. There are so many restaurants to choose from outside the hotel that it isn't really an issue.

Another great stay here last weekend. The staff and the food are excellent. Cannot fault this place and always get service as nothing is too much trouble. Angela on reception 'stood out' from the rest and was extremely helpful and charming. Will deffo be back next year.

Avoid eating at The Terrace Bar, waist of money. The best thing about this hotel was the very comfortable bed. There was also sparkling and still water, a nespresso machine, free wifi and a bathrobe which were nice touches. The room was generally very clean apart from an unfortunate carpet stain. The reception staff seemed efficient but weren't very friendly and my wake-up call never arrived. My only concern about my first floor room was that the balcony opened up on to a roof terrace which meant I couldn't open the patio door to cool the room down as anyone would have been able to walk right in. So as there was no air conditioning I had a rather warm and stuffy night. The breakfast was very good. A good choice on the buffet supplemented by a range of other dishes you could order. I enjoyed my pancakes and a mouthful of my colleagues delicious kipper. Another had Eggs Benedict.

Generally, the Hotel was very good, we asked for a quiet room, and after getting used to the Air Conditioning Unit outside, its wasn't too bad, although we had to keep the balcony door shut or it would have been too noisy!. Long walk into town, and even longer back, as the first part is a very steep hill! Beakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. We ate once in the Restaurant on the Early Bird Deal and with the discount it was a reasonable price, with very nice food. The second time we ate there, there must have been a different chef.. The starter was 3 very small scallops ( The previous time we had 4 large scallops ) and the main course was and extremely small and dry piece of pork, 3 new potatoes and about half a dozen green beans. We decided not to try the desert! Very very disappointing and expensive...Didn't eat there again- most guests must have known, as both times the restaurant was practically empty!
However, the Hotel itself was fine, rooms good, beds very comfortable, grounds very quiet, staff generally friendly.

We have recently returned from Guernsey, the Hotel itself is on the outskirts of St Peter Port, definately not walking distance, even for the fit and able.

Unfortunately it is right on a very busy road and we were unlucky to be allocated a room right next to the road, which for us was extremely noisy. One of the reasons we choose this hotel was becasue it was not in the centre of St Peter Port where we thought it would be noisy.

On Arrival - we were dealt with efficiently, but not with any warmth. In fact the whole time we were there - we didn't feel particularly welcome.

The bar staff were always extremely courteous, but again, not particularly engaging.

We ate in the hotel one evening at the bar, which was OK, but the tables are to low for comfortable eating.

Our room - although noisy was very nice, very clean and well kept.

Overall - would we go back - possibly not, having stayed in Jersey at the Pomme D'or, where the staff were amazing and extremely welcoming, we now feel very let down by our experience here.

We stayed in the Alderney suite for one night for my birthday and loved it. We didn't really leave the room as we obviously specifically came for what the suite had to offer, more specifically the garden and jacuzzi. The staff who brought our (numerous) room service orders were really friendly and professional. The room was very comfortably kitted out. I think the decor is a tad out of date though and it was a little weird for me to see that there weren't really any toiletry supplies (there was a note saying we should contact reception for this). I also didn't think the food was great (both dinner and breakfast). However, the overall experience of our night in the suite was fantastic!

What is the point in offering early bird restaurant deals between 6&7 if there are no tables available as they are all booked for 7 and later! At 6.15 the restaurant was empty!!!! Not great for customer service or relations!

We have just returned from a superb stay at this hotel. The accommodation was very clean, the breakfasts were very good with a good deal of choice and the leisure facilities were once again excellent.
We ate in the bar one night and the restaurant for another. Both were very good.
The reception staff were very helpful and the bed was extremely comfortable.
We will definitely stay here again.

Arrived here late in the evening, very tired after a number of flights the same day. Reception were very courteous as was the concierge. I checked in and all appeared to go smoothly. My room was lovely. Huge bed, tea coffee facilities, hairdryer, water both still and sparkling in the room as well as the usual bathroom supplies. Found the room to be very comfortable and there was also a balcony that you could stand out on. This was a bit dangerous as there was a step down off the bedroom floor onto the balcony. I went to the bar for some food. It was very nice and service was very good. I paid and went to my room. I found the hotel quiet. Next morning I had breakfast which was a bit hap hazard. To find the butter it was in another area. It was difficult to know was it self service or not as I was not told this when I went in despite waiting to be seated. Tables were quite near to each other. It was a basic buffet breakfast nothing spectacular. I was disappointed with the breakfast as I thought with the price etc it would be a fresh cooked breakfast. I checked out and left again reception were very nice to deal with.

I guess the second issue I have is that I hadn't realised that I was on a dinner bed and breakfast package and was charged accordingly. Reception had not said and perhaps with all my flying that day it completely escaped me. Therefore I paid for a dinner in the bar that actually I could have had in the restaurant which was included on my rate so Im out of pocket.T trying to contact the hotel since has been impossible and there does not appear to be an email address either for it. I know on one hand I am saying that reception were very good but on another side they neglected to mention anything about dinner.

Definitely a mixed experience.

Breakfast here was my highlight with so many options available.
Rooms we're comfy, however without air con, so we did make use of the patio doors.
Bar has a nice range of board games available to play.
About a 20 minute walk to the main port, but staff will happily arrange taxis for you - bear in mind there is often a wait for your taxi, so book this in advance.

When we booked the hotel we specifically asked for a quiet room. We were on the ground floor far left of the reception area. The first 4 days the very loud drilling noises, coming from directly underneath our room, which lasted from mid morning until about 4.30 - 5 pm prevented any chance of my partner and l having a conversation. In fairness the assistant manager did compensate us with a bottle of wine one evening after we complained. The last 2 nights we were kept awake until the early hours by parties who seemed oblivious to the fact that this was a 4 star hotel full of guests trying to sleep !! [ We had received a note from the hotel warning us of this but this did not make the noise any easier to contend with ] We booked dinner at the Pavillion Restaurant one evening. Although this is within the hotel building we were told that this is not run by the Hotel. Despite asking for a quiet table we were taken aback when soon after we were seated the waiter showed a couple with 3 small extremely badly behaved and very noisy children right next to us ! The children were allowed to run in and out of the restaurant screaming, shouting banging into my chair and generally making any chance of my partner and l enjoying our meal impossible. We eventually left the restaurant without finishing our meal. On the plus side the breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. Most of the staff were pleasant, especially the reception staff. The room was large and very clean the bed very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at St Pierre Park, we stayed for 5 nights and found all members of staff to be helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location for getting around the island. We did walk into St Peters Port - it took us around 30mins but there is a bus stop within a few minutes walk of the hotel with regular buses in the day to St Peters Port and we used this mainly, we also hired a car during our stay which hotel reception helped to arrange. Our rooms were standard rooms on the third floor, extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had the patio doors open at night as it was hot and the rooms had no air conditioning. Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold choices. We also used the pool and gym and found these facilities to be very good. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and relaxing.
