This was a first time visit and just a single night on business at that. Everything worked exactly as you would expect - even the WiFi was consistently reliable. The rooms were clean, attractive and spacious, albeit a little chilly. The bed was certainly comfortable enough. The bar was quiet on the Thursday evening, a good selection of beers and the bar food was quite good. The cooked breakfast despite being a self-service buffet was excellent - especially the enormous local sausages.

This hotel totally deserves its 4 star award and even comes close to 5 star facilities in many areas.

The hotel was kept in an immaculate condition and we found its décor to be maintained to the highest standards, and even exceeded our expectations. The rooms are very large and well appointed. The only improvement that I felt could be made would be to include a fridge in ‘every’ room, rather than just offering one by request. The hotel is set in large attractive grounds and benefits from a number of outdoor terraces that must be a delight to use in the warmer months. There is a spa facility and hairdressers (both of which we felt was a bit pricey) and a lovely swimming pool.

Our room’s double bed was a magnificently comfortable super-king size and the bed linen was replaced every day of our 3 night stay, so we got to enjoy that ‘fresh bed’ experience every night. We also found the bathroom towels equally wonderful, all white and fluffy and they were replaced every day too - without asking. The bathroom provided a good selection of quality toiletries including shower cap etc and the shower (over bath) with glass screen was modern - if a little fiddly when we tried working out how to divert the water flow from bath to shower function.

The room came equipped with the usual furniture one would expect, with its wardrobe providing more than adequate coat hangers, a hair dryer and a 28” flat screen TV showing Freeview channels, including radio - but unusually, no pay to view movie option. It was nice to have FREE wifi in all of the rooms for a change instead of just the foyer, and we also found the signal to be very good and reliable. We were lucy enough to got a (low season) free upgrade to a room overlooking the gardens which meant that we had a balcony too with table and chairs. Free parking is in abundance, so there were no issues or problems finding anywhere to park our hire car.

We found that most of the staff are younger eastern Europeans, but they were ALL very professional with a friendly warmth and confidence befitting this type of establishment. They were all extremely polite, courteous and attentive. We even found the service/maintenance staff always gave you a pleasant greeting and acknowledgement in the corridors too.

We cannot begin to praise the standard of buffet breakfast at this hotel high enough. It is beyond belief and probably the largest selection of hot/continental and ‘other’ I have ever encountered. It offered the best quality of ingredients and produce that I have ever experienced and actually goes beyond what is already laid out before you. It will leave you salivating. There is also an additional printed breakfast menu with a ‘made to order’ selection too - offering all the quirky less popular bits like kippers, pancakes etc - the choice overall just goes on and on. We were lucky enough to have breakfast included in our room rate, but it costs £13.95 per person otherwise.

The hotel is set a bit out of town and while it may not look far to walk (as the crow flies) it feels a long way ‘uphill’ to the half way point - and then it goes even steeper downhill again leading into town. Bear in mind that the pavements are narrow and you walk along a very busy road. It is not suited for the unfit or elderly and took us as a 50+ unfit couple about 40 minutes. You can take a bus instead however, which for non residents cost £2.00 one way, or you can get a day ticket for about £4.50. We used the taxi a few times and the cost each way in and out of town ranged from £7 to £9.00 one way.

Some earlier reviews make reference to the “Dog House Pub” conveniently located just up the road from the hotel. It is a clean, well managed pub but most people fail to mention that as a live band venue, it’s really geared up to the under 35’s and they didn’t even have any Bitter on tap when we paid a brief visit.

We had a great time at this hotel and the only ‘blip’ we experienced occurred on our last evening when the hotel hosted a boxing dinner. This meant that residents weren’t allowed to access the full bar area and we had to make do with a smaller restricted part that was divided off for the early part of the evening. The thing was, we then also had the boxing teams ‘entourage’ put in with us, to separate them from the ‘black tie’ event guests.

The event was hosted in the main dining room which also meant that we had to use another of the restaurants for breakfast on 2 of the mornings. Anyway, we had planned to eat in and ordered a bar meal from the ‘restricted’ bar and the service started off wonderfully, but as the boxing guests started to arrive, their presence took priority over the residents. This became a nuisance when we and others tried to get served at the bar and later when it came to clearing up everyone’s dinner plates. It left us and other diners resorting to clearing up our own crockery and cutlery and depositing it on the bar so that we could have some space on our tables, and we were disappointed to see the (busy) waitress deliver more meals, but walk back to the kitchen with an empty tray past all of the empty plates without any attempt to clear the bar or tables. It let the hotel down I’m afraid as did the lengthy wait at the bat to get served, until the event got under way and the staff had time to serve the resident guests. The bar food was nice, but you won't put on any weight when it comes to the portion sizes unfortunately. After the dividers were removed and we had access to the full bar again, we then had to be witness to some warm up sparring with a boxer and trainer - fine if you like boxing, but not really the right place or time for that sort of thing I'm afraid!

A note on the bar area; Why do we have to constantly endure large TV screens everywhere, how about some subdued background music, dim the lights and create a nice ambience for a change?

So in conclusion we’d highly recommend this hotel but check if there are any events on first, I’d hate to think what the service would be like if there was a wedding on - but apart from that, it gets full marks. Now the bit the hotel doesn’t like, it cost us £238.00 for 3 nights which was made up of one couple paying for 2 nights and getting the 3rd free, with breakfast included.

I stayed for three days last October. A very good hotel indeed. The room was warm and comfortable; the food was excellent; the Guernsey cider was delicious. Very conveniently placed for everywhere on the island. Highly recommended.

so enjoyed our stay here...
main plus was the very comfortable and soft bed, so rare these days, everyone believing "firm" is somehow good, when its actually loathsome.
Bathroom well designed and our room was all round of fine quality.
we had the half board deal from Avios in order to make the most of our surplus, but the restaurant was not one we would have chosen to go back to each night had we been either staying longer, or on a B&B basis...
Some of the menu was fine I guess, but chef had some odd ideas such as old potatoes shaved to look like new, boiled and stuck on the plate...

breakfast on the other hand was the most complete buffet set of choices I have ever seen, and we both enjoyed, so all round I'd say food was a plus.

The service all round was good, very pleasant and attentive staff, traditional hotel values abounded, so I do recommend, but possibly best to use alternate evening restaurant facilities for choice.

As a birthday treat for my wife, we hopped over from Jersey to stay a single night at the St Pierre Park. Thanks to the excellent assistance of Sandra in reservations department, I'd been able to book The Alderney Suite. Simply stunning with a very large lounge, bedroom and an excellent en-suite.

However, the best part was the suite had its own enormous terrace with extensive comfy seating, sun lounges and a great hot tub. We were lucky as weather was perfect and actually were able to sit outside as well as use the tub.

Leisurely 20 minute stroll in to St Peter Port with its quaint streets and abundance of restaurants and bars. We had lunch at the Crows Nest which overlooks the marina. Great staff and excellent food.

Back at the hotel, my wife had a manicure late afternoon and she said that the young lady who did it was extremely friendly and very professional. Afterwards we met up in the bar for a drink and the staff here, too, were great.

We were on a half board basis and decided to dine in the Victor Hugo restaurant. Food was of a very high quality and all the staff were very friendly - only downside was that it was very quiet, it was early January, so certainly not down to the fault of the hotel.

As we had a suite, we had breakfast in our room and it was really good.

We would certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Next morning an excellent breakfast that had everything you would want to get your day off to a good start.

Our first visit to Guernsey, and we made an excellent choice of hotel. All the staff here are polite and most helpful very pleasant. Before our arrival we received a call informing us of the staff party held on the Saturday and was invited to attend, we were so glad we did, we were made to feel very welcome. An excellent gesture from the hotel to its staff.
The room was marvellous clean linen every day and so very clean.
Breakfast was fantastic so much choice of unbeatable quality food.
The bar meals were great value and more than enough, would recommend the local bitter, Bailliwick!
To all at the St Pierrre Park, thanks for making our stay so good.

Excellent staff and well run hotel. Rooms a little tired but great value at 70quid a night. Did not try restraint but breakfast good and can recommend the sausages. Also the staff have great knowledge of local restaurants and do not try to push the in house options on you.

Will defiantly return.

We have stayed here many times over the last fifteen years. Sometimes two or three times a year. It is a really good p!ace to stay, the staff can't do enough for you, the hotel has had a total re fit over the last couple of years. Breakfast is to die for buffet style but you can get everything you could want.Has its own fitness and leisure suite including indoor pool aand jacuzzi which are all free to hotel residents. So all in all can't find enough good things to say about staying here other that do it.

We stayed in room 427 for new year and had a lovely stay. The room was quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable. We made use of the swimming pool which also has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. It is about a 20 minute walk to St. Peter's port or there is a bus which runs every 15 minutes.
The breakfast is excellent with friendly staff and every variety of food imaginable.
We caught a bus from St. Peter's port to travel around the island. A day ticket costs £4.50 per person.
In the evening we celebrated new year in the Doghouse, just a five minute walk away. A lively pub with good food and live music.
Due to the bad weather we could not try the golf course!

I stay in one of the hotels suites which has a separate lounge, kitchen and. Jacuzzi in the garden which is gorgeous after a hard day.
My only concern is that the Jacuzzi isn't very private the screen between the rooms needs to be more substantial.

We spent a long weekend here at the end of the autumn half term. The boys really enjoyed the excellent spread at breakfast, the swimming pool and the gym. Also managed most of a set of tennis between rain showers! The staff were all exceedingly helpful. We had two adjoining rooms, very comfortable, both with small balconies. We thought the hotel was overall very good value, but did not try any of the restaurants other than for breakfast as they looked a bit out of our price range. We had a hire car, which was great given the weather, but it would be possible without as the island is small with reasonable public transport. The only issue during our stay was loud live music for private functions on two consecutive evenings, however we were given written advance notice of these and the music did stop at or before the expected time on both occasions. It did not spoil our enjoyment. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds, with stunning autumn colours at this time of year.

We stayed her for two mights as a special birthday treat, the staff were so friendly and helpful, we had a bar meal one evening which was very good, I accompanied my other half around the golf course which was really well planned out as it was a lovely day it was excellent. I enjoyed a winter warmer pamper treatment which included a hot stone massage, a mini facial and a file and polish.
The hotel is well located there is even a waitrose tucked away just over the road which is really handy. The only negative comments are that there was an iron burn on the carpet in our room and it could probably do with the bed being replaced as a couple of the springs had gone.
The lobby and dining areas are really impressive and I cannot emphasise enough how lovely the staff were. We had a truly wonderful and memorable time in Guernsey and would love to return. I have left a review also on the Petit Cafe in St, Peters Port the steaks were out of this world!

The hotel and spa facilities are excellent, with good service from friendly and efficient staff, the only drawback was that they need a little more communication between colleagues. It had been agreed at reservation and confirmed upon check in that I would have a late check out, however, was woken up by housekeeping wishing to clean the room, and within ten minutes of normal check out time was called by the front desk to ask when they could expect me to check out. Other than that good facility, nice breakfast buffet, swimmig pool and jacuzzie were correctly heated.

This was my 1st time visiting the hotel and Guernsey and was very impressed with both. The hotel was very welcoming and provided an excellent level of service. The rooms were really comfortable and we had a nice room with a view over the beautiful grounds. The free breakfast was very impressive and included everything from fresh croissants, cereals, fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast. Also made use of the spa facilities and relaxation room which was a nice treat. The walk into St. Peter's Port only took about 20 minutes (at a brisk walk). The only downside is that we were hoping to have a round of golf but wasn't allowed to as was wearing jeans which was a shame but understand this is normal practice for golf clubs.

It is not often I give 5 stars on a hotel, but we could not really fault our stay in any way. (My wife thinks she spotted a small cobweb in a corridor-will take her to get new glasses next week). All recently refurbished we had a room with a Balcony overlooking the gardens. Loved the room, especially quality cups, npresso coffee machine etc and quality toiletries I bathroom. All details were well considered. Good quality bed and furniture. Breakfast buffet was top quality and well presented. All staff very friendly and obliging. We ate some meals in the bar, food quality was good but perhaps a little pricey. Only real downside was very noisy group in bar one night, (duty manager came over to apologise!) and a round party on Sunday night for which we had been forewarned. Loved the atmosphere and hope to return soon.

Have not been here for a few years but nothing has changed. It's still a good experience. Very nice roomes either looking out over the fountain, to the front, or the gardens at the back. A very good fitness area with attentive staff. One criticism, why do they not open the breakfast restaurant earlier at the weekends, Not everyone wants a lie in and some have planes to catch. Up to 8 am, the only choice is a continental breakfast in your room. Some might find it a bit far from the main town, St Peter Port, but taxis are plentiful and not expensive. Would liked to have played their nine hole par 3 golf course, but the weather was not brilliant..

The hotel could do with a makeover, but overall very good vale for money. The beds are comfy and rooms very quiet. Staff are all very friendly and helpful - great welcoming atmosphere - this was a business trip, i am a female travelling alone and felt very safe. I'll definately go back with my husband for a holiday, he will enjoy the golf and there are some great spa treatments that I will be able to take advantage of. Breakfast selection fantastic.

This was the second Hotel we stopped in on our trip to Guernsey,we only had two days in here but I wish we had longer, the rooms are very spacious with a large bathroom,we were on the ground floor so had a lovely balcony which opened up onto the fantatic gardens, complete with resident Ducks and Moorhens!!!Breakfast was great with plenty of choice,we felt the baon was a little to bit salty for our likings....The health room INDOOR pool and salon are great,a real plus, overall a really good stay,i would use this place as first choice on any return in future, well done team!!

This is not the sort of hotel we normally stay in but we chose it for its location and because we got a good deal. Although the hotel is quite large and hosts a lot of corporate events, we loved it! The setting is very tranquil with a lake and large grounds as a result of it having a golf course. The room was scrupulously clean and very comfortable with a King size bed and decent sized bathroom. It was nice to have a balcony to sit out on even though the weather didn't allow too much of that on our visit. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful - and this applied to everyone! Breakfast, to suit all tastes, was plentiful and delicious. We ate in the terrace bar one evening and the food was very good. Location superb being away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre but with a bus stop (and Waitrose!) just across the road, making a trip into town for dinner very easy. Well done St Pierre Park!

The food at the Victor Hugo restaurant was out if this world, it was the Sunday lunch we went for the starter main and desert was as nice as each other, I would defiantly recommend eating here. The staff were lovely too, really happy and very helpful.

The St Pierre Park is a large hotel but the service feels like that of a small country hotel. All the staff are extremely polite and helpful. Our room was a good size for a standard room with a very comfortable bed, good quality furnishings and a spacious and well appointed bathroom. We had a tiny balcony with one chair and a table with a partial view of the lake and fountain.

In the restaurant the service was excellent until our final evening (a Saturday) when there were two birthday parties going on at the same time which made the service extremely slow. The food was generally good, especially if you like fish, which was excellent. We found the meat dishes a little bland and vegetable selection predictable but at least it wasn't over spiced or laced with garlic. Starters and desserts were very good. A special mention should be made of Lydia, the Manageress who is very efficient and friendly, and two of the waiting staff - Linda and Gabriel - who were very attentive and friendly, and made our meals more enjoyable.

Breakfast is buffet style with a huge range from fresh and tinned fruits to cereals, local breads, pastries and toast, and the usual cooked selection. Service was excellent too with nothing too much trouble.

Some of the rooms suffer from noise from the busy road, the air conditioning unit and the entertainment areas.

There is a large indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a spa.

The Hotel is close to a bus stop for buses into St Peter Port, or you can walk to the harnour in about 30 minutes. The location is on a busy road, about a mile from the sea, in a very busy and congested town, which you could never describe as picturesque. There are regular ferries from the harbour to Herm and Sark, which are both worth a visit.

A flight cancellation meant we got to stay at the St Pierre Park for 1 night. We'd been at another hotel for 4 nights.....but wish we'd spent all our Guernsey nights here! The hotel is elegant whilst not being fussy and the public areas very spacious. The double room we had was perfect with nice views over the small lake and fountain. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We ate in the bar rather than the main restaurant and found the choice and quality of food excellent. Breakfast was buffet style with excellent selection of fresh food to choose from. We had time to make use of the indoor pool which was most welcome. The spa area is extremely nice with a choice of treatments at reasonable prices. There is a top class 9 hole Par 3 golf course adjacent to the hotel. The hotel is well situated about 10 mins from the centre of St PeterPort and on a main bus route. When we come back to Guernsey, we'll definitely stay here.

A pleasant enough hotel where the staff were more than helpful. Service was good and bar food was very good and adequate.
Bedroom was spacious and well equipped but in need of some redecoration.
Buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of fresh food to choose from.

The hotel is very well located with plenty of parking, and is more or less opposite a Waitrose where there are cash machines and you can get provisions for a day out. The staff in the hotel are friendly and professional, the breakfasts are superb and for 2 nights of our 4 night stay we ate in the Victor Hugo restaurant in the hotel and both meals were memorable for all the right reasons. Really would struggle to fault this hotel - excellent!
