Breakfast here was my highlight with so many options available.
Rooms we're comfy, however without air con, so we did make use of the patio doors.
Bar has a nice range of board games available to play.
About a 20 minute walk to the main port, but staff will happily arrange taxis for you - bear in mind there is often a wait for your taxi, so book this in advance.

When we booked the hotel we specifically asked for a quiet room. We were on the ground floor far left of the reception area. The first 4 days the very loud drilling noises, coming from directly underneath our room, which lasted from mid morning until about 4.30 - 5 pm prevented any chance of my partner and l having a conversation. In fairness the assistant manager did compensate us with a bottle of wine one evening after we complained. The last 2 nights we were kept awake until the early hours by parties who seemed oblivious to the fact that this was a 4 star hotel full of guests trying to sleep !! [ We had received a note from the hotel warning us of this but this did not make the noise any easier to contend with ] We booked dinner at the Pavillion Restaurant one evening. Although this is within the hotel building we were told that this is not run by the Hotel. Despite asking for a quiet table we were taken aback when soon after we were seated the waiter showed a couple with 3 small extremely badly behaved and very noisy children right next to us ! The children were allowed to run in and out of the restaurant screaming, shouting banging into my chair and generally making any chance of my partner and l enjoying our meal impossible. We eventually left the restaurant without finishing our meal. On the plus side the breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. Most of the staff were pleasant, especially the reception staff. The room was large and very clean the bed very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at St Pierre Park, we stayed for 5 nights and found all members of staff to be helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a good location for getting around the island. We did walk into St Peters Port - it took us around 30mins but there is a bus stop within a few minutes walk of the hotel with regular buses in the day to St Peters Port and we used this mainly, we also hired a car during our stay which hotel reception helped to arrange. Our rooms were standard rooms on the third floor, extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had the patio doors open at night as it was hot and the rooms had no air conditioning. Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold choices. We also used the pool and gym and found these facilities to be very good. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and relaxing.

A slightly disappointing stay at St Pierre Park given its reputation as one of the best hotels on the island - although it has four stars it feels as though the place could do with a thorough sprucing up. Our room was on the small size with no aircon or fridge. Nice enough balcony however. We were on the third floor and could still clearly hear the noise of the generator outside the groundfloor rooms clearly even with the window closed - I can only assume this would have been fairly distracting for guests on the lower levels.

This is a large hotel and breakfast was a correspondingly busy affair - that said, it didn't seem to be staffed accordingly with orders requiring an age both be taken and delivered, and various items running out on the buffet. In general the staff were a mixed bag - a few were extremely helpful, but a larger number seemed very inexperienced. Checking in and out were annoying protracted affairs.

On the plus side, the hotel is in a lovely setting and sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake was a charming view. The hotel is well located for a 20 minute or so walk into St Peter Port and the residents' bar was decent enough.

Overall this felt like a missed opportunity for what could be a first rate hotel but one that has been overtaken by better options elsewhere on the island.

Just back from a 3 day stay at this hotel, a member of Hand Picked Hotels Group (my favourite chain!) and absolutely lived up to the standard.

No, these are NOT the top most plush 4* hotels in the world but - they are clean, tidy, superbly run, well appointed, staff absolutely first class and always very friendly and relaxed.

We stayed in one of their Junior Suites (the Jethou) - nice large room and living area with a private sun terrace with rattan loungers, seats and a very nice jacuzzi! Perfect!

One thing worth noting - the price of the food in the bar and room service. TBH I was very surprised at how (for a hotel with this rating) just how reasonable it was! Lots of main courses for around £9-£10 and all nicely done. Breakfast was fantastic - massive selection of just about everything you could want and the lady who was the manager there was very helpful and even remembered our name after one day - nicely done!!! They also do a Sunday buffet (salads, roasts, seafood, cold meats, desert selection etc) for around a bargain £17.95 - if it is anything like their sister hotel on Jersey, L'Horizon, used to do GO THERE as i'm sure it will be brilliant!

The hotel is about 1.5 miles outside St Peter Port (nice and quiet surroundings) - the staff reckon a 20-25 minute walk - suspect this is closer to 45 minutes and up and down hill. BUT take the excellent local bus service - 4 services an hour right through the day and evening to and from town - the bus stop is right outside the hotel entrance - flat rate of £1 per journey no matter if you are going right around the island or just to the next stop!

My only comments which are not really negative but would just add some 'finishing touches' - can you please put some hooks on the back of the bathroom doors and also, a small coffee table in front of the sofas in the suites would be very useful.

All staff friendly and excellent - Anderson and Nicky were very friendly and nothing too much trouble, Tom the Concierge who has been there over 30 years was a fine chap and a font of knowledge about the island and a special thank you to the lovely black haired lady on reception (who had 'trainee' on her badge and whose name I have sadly forgotten) on reception - excellent service throughout, thank you. Thanks too to Euan for ferrying us to the airport following a 'taxi ordering malfunction'!

As always, my acid test - would i stay again - absolutely yes, and will be.

We spent a very enjoyable week here in this pleasant hotel on such a lovely island. The staff are first-rate. So friendly, helpful, obliging and yet professional. Jake on reception is particularly good and has an extensive knowledge of the island as well as hotels in the Hand-Picked Hotels group. We were not 100% happy with our room so were moved to a more suitable one as soon as convenient. Can't fault that!
It is true to say, as some reviewers already have, that some areas need refurbishing, but the hotel is aware of this and work is in progress. The grounds are lovely, the breakfast food is satisfactory and substantial, especially the home-made pastries which were excellent. I don't eat pork so breakfast can be limited in many hotels, but not here - plenty of choice and all very good quality. We also enjoyed the 'all-you-can-shovel-down-you' Sunday lunch which is very good value and the beef and turkey were both perfectly cooked. We did try the Victor Hugo restaurant a couple of times. The first evening there as it was convenient and again later; but frankly there are so many fabulous places to eat on Guernsey that this is a bit of an also-ran. (See my restaurant reviews for more info). Whilst it has good food on offer it really is more for convenience rather than a special occasion.
The hotel is probably one of the best on the island and we would certainly choose to stay there again.

Top 4 star hotel just outside St Peter Port very good valve for money. Staff are top notch and very helpful. The only downside is a lower floor room at the back near the lake as there is no air con if you have the patio doors open in hot weather the mozzies make a vist. One of the best breakfast,s ever.

We stayed 5 nights in July and had a very happy, comfortable and delightful stay.
The room was clean and well-appointed, the food excellent, the staff superb and the facilities (gardens, pool, etc.) were well-kept and much enjoyed. (The changing area for the pool is not immediately adjacent, but robes are provided and its only a few steps away.)
The hotel is in a quiet residential location a little way out of St Peter Port, so it is very peaceful, but buses go right by the hotel if you want to use the excellent Guernsey public transport system and if you want a few essentials or a cash machine, there is a Waitrose shop only a short distance away. Every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had a happy, enjoyable holiday - reception staff, restaurant staff at breakfast and evenings - pool staff, in fact every person we came into contact with was so considerate and this really made our short break a pleasure. There were families with children in the hotel and I noticed that the staff were just as considerate to the needs of families as they were to adult customers - which shows good training and thoughtfulness, a pleasure to see. If we return to Guernsey (which we loved) we will most certainly return to St Pierre Park and highly recommend it.

Stayed for four nights, visiting for a wedding which was held at the hotel, staff, grounds, food was all excellent, well worth a meal in the pavilion restaurant, though you cannot charge this to your room as it is run privately, bar meals are good , but a distinct lack of seating when the hotel is busy , which it was.
Only problem with the whole stay was the room we were in was stifling hot, and I am not convinced this was all down to the summer heat and no air conditioning as the whole corridor was a very humid unnatural heat whenever you entered it, this caused problems with neighbours when then leaving doors open to attempt to get any air circulation at all, this did make it difficult to sleep and our three year old woke up every night hot and bothered, therefore would try and avoid the downstairs corridor I think rooms 150 to 165 or something like that, but I have to say because everything else was so good, we put up with it, breakfast is to die for, and overall this is a very good hotel

Good hotel worth the upgrade to a view of lake and spacious clean room. Staff excellent and breakfast good with plenty of choice. Yes the some outside areas are looking tired but it's the first time we have found a hotel in Guernsey we would go back too. Thanks for a lovely stay

We visited Guernsey for a few days recently and stayed in an executive room at the St Pierre Park. Whilst the room was okay I was at a loss to see what extra you got for an executive room. The room was clean and tidy, whilst the communal areas were a little frayed round the edges. We had dinner in the Hotel one evening and the food was reasonable and generally the service from the staff was good.

There was a function one night we were there and I would echo some other comments about the level of noise in the rooms during the functions. The main issue is that the rooms do not have air conditioning and the only ventilation is a sliding door on the balcony which if open inevitably let's in the noise from outside.

Stayed just one night in the hotel but was very impressed with the service from reception staff and concierge. I needed to print documents from email and the computer in the business suite was playing up so the reception staff helped and could not have done more to ensure I had what I needed.
Excellent breakfast, lovely setting, would definitely stay here again
Cost £10 for a taxi from the airport or you can get the bus for £1 if you are not in a hurry

Nice hotel, decent rooms food ok and a little golf course just behind it for a hack. Breakfast is good quality but in a very big room. For a business stay it's a little out of town so you are reliant on taxis not the biggest problem in the world but a minor inconvenience

Excellent hospitality, good food, great position for St Peter Port, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommend this hotel!

The staff were very helpful and made us feel special from the time we arrived. The bar overlooks a lovely lake and grounds and we made ourselves at home sitting out on the terrace.

We were a large party of guests and the only complaint received from 50 odd people was one of our guests wanting a member of staff to go and find a machine for cigarettes at 12am!

Breakfast was excellent, a large hot and cold buffet and dinner on the Gala night was excellent, serving around 150 people, the food was hot and excellent.

Stayed here for one night to attend a friends funeral and overall had a good experience. Breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful. Room was nicely decorated and bed comfortable and more King size than double which was a pleasant surprise.
Downside was the sun beds outside at the health suite which were plastic, cheap and uncomfortable, which is easily remedied by the Hotel.
The real surprise was the quality and beauty of the gardens which were tranquil and beautifully maintained.
Overall a very good experience

We have just returned from a 7 night stay in St Pierre Park Hotel . We booked the Jersey Suite from July 10th thru to July 17 .The suite size was excellent probably one of the best I have stayed and I travel a lot thru out the world . Some of the finishing in the room could have been better such as hiding the tv cables in the wall for the wall mounted TV rather than have them hang loose and pluged into an extension cable placed on top of the lounge cabinet excellent views from the 4 balconys looking over the lake and golf course.
Breakfast was plentifull and good .We had Dinner on the first night which was not really up too much rather disappointing to be honest .Housekeeping was ok except staff never greeted or smiled when you passed by a good morning or hello is no real effort to say.
The cafe terrace bar was reasonable and Tatiana the bar waitress was very pleasant and nothing seemed to be a bother for her .always smiling and knew our drink order after the first night we where there and just automatically brought our drinks when we arrived
Meals there where also hit or miss especially the soup in fact my wife complained about he mushroom soup to Miquel the Bar manager who did not seem concerned and lacked the greet and smile on his introduction to my wife all he said was I will take it off the bill
The pavilion restraunt is not part of the Hotel and has to be paid for separately bill cannot be added your Room
Overall it was a good stay just need to have staff learn to acknowledge guest after all it is the Hospitality industry they are working in and a smile or greeting goes a long way and cost nothing
When I return to Gurnsey I would use St Pierre Park again as suite sizes are excellent

Whilst the hotel delivers on most fronts, there are some serious design faults with the double fire doors at the end of the corridors. They just need some simple adjustment with proper door closers and the constant banging immediately outside my room was infuriating. My daughters two floors above also had a similar problem and were woken in the early hours by banging doors. Luckily the weather was fine so we all enjoyed a nap on the beach. Reception and waiting/bar staff were very helpful however I found the spa/gym staff the opposite

The St Pierre Park hotel is nicely located not too far from the centre. The set up is spacious and the gardens are very well kept. Staff is very friendly and service oriented.

Overall facilities are good. Been watching the World Cup on nice screens in a comfortable setting whilst enjoying good food. The gym is well equiped for a good workout. The spa is ok with a nice pool and sauna. The bad experiences are related to the noisy rooms; banging doors, noisy people in the halls surely did not support a good night sleep but worst was the noisy air conditioning generators placed outside the rooms of our wing. Not sure who thought of that!?

Overall ok experience which could be improved considerably once these issues are addressed.

I had booked to stay for more than a week and had great expectations to enjoy a great holiday stay at St Pierre Park Hotel

I will explain what I felt were the ‘short comings’ of the hotel first and finish with the best bits!

I agree with the term stated in an earlier review of ‘function hotel’ and business–oriented.
Although you are forewarned by a letter pushed under your door of functions, it does not alleviate the problem of excessive noise and people shouting and talking even post function which results in disturbed nights!
If you are ‘noise sensitive’ arrange a room away from the function room.

The main bars are closed to residents on function nights giving a feeling that residents are of secondary importance!

My room had an interconnecting door; I could hear most conversations and in particular every word of phone conversations spoken next door.

On occasions time waiting for ordered food could have been better.

If my company was ‘footing’ the bill or I was attending a function I would be very happy to enjoy the hotel for what it is, I do not personally see it as a holiday hotel.

Now the good bits!

When I arrived I felt the hotel was very impressive, the gardens, lake and golf course are lovely and well cared for.

Every member of staff I had contact with was polite, professional and took time when possible to have a short conversation.
All staff was helpful and did their utmost to be helpful and caring making my stay as enjoyable as was possible.

Breakfast was good and provided for all needs with freshly cooked options from the kitchen available to order.
Dining location is between the Terrace Bar and Victor Hugo Restaurant,
both provide well for all needs.

The leisure centre was well run, very clean and well maintained, the reception team was exceptional, they were warm, welcoming and professional ensuring your visit was well catered for. The pool was lovely, the steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi were all in good order.

My room was spotless and kept that way daily throughout my stay, the good sized bed was extremely comfortable.
A balcony provided a welcome facility to enjoy the lovely weather during my stay.
The bathroom was excellent, again spotless and well serviced throughout my stay.

Summing up I had a really good holiday, loved Guernsey and will possibly return, but although St Pierre Park Hotel is a lovely hotel and I was well looked after and enjoyed my stay despite the comments above my personal preference will be a more holiday-oriented hotel.

We had a short break here just for 4 nights mid week. The room was comfortable and very clean, the food was lovely the staff too. There is a marvellous lake in the huge garden which we were lucky enough to see from our room.
Downstairs there is a spa complex, swimming pool and Jacuzzi all you need to totally relax and we did, only downside is there is no air conditioning in the room we had and patio doors, so not wishing to leave doors open all night we stifled a bit and there was also machine noise which we couldn't pinpoint, however I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Underneath the hotel is the pavilion restaurant and we had a cream tea here was good scones were very good. I notice there are a few comments about noise I imagine as we were midweek that wasn't an issue for us.
Breakfast was really good lots of choice and all hot.

Lovely grounds, but no view at all from our room other than ugly flat roof. Functions both nights took over bars, leaving residents feeling a little like intruders on their own turf. Rooms meticulously cleaned, but initially only one bath and hand towel provided for 2, and pillows thin. Pool and spa area very well cared for. Location is quite a hike from town, so cabs or car hire needed, contributing to the feeling of excessive traffic on this beautiful island. Breakfast average - poached eggs available but not a success for chef on duty. Bar menu offered a good selection, well prepared, but service not always the standard expected in a quality hotel - grudging. The foundations of a lovely hotel, but with scope to improve environment, service consistency and give residents a better experience.

I have stayed this hotel many times for work. Many of the rooms have interconnecting doors which means you can hear everything the person in the next room is saying and doing!
Prices for food are expensive.
Grounds are relaxing

We stayed at the St. Pierre Park Hotel for 3 nights as part of a visit to the Channel Islands in June 2014.

The hotel is located about 25-30 minutes walk from the centre of St Peter Port and has the advantage of being located in beautiful grounds, with a feature lake with fountains and - my favourite - a floating duck house! There is ample car parking and a taxi into the town centre in the evening would be relatively inexpensive if the walk sounds off-putting.

Check-in was efficient and friendly and we had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden, which was nice. The room itself was very clean and spacious, with a good powerful shower and a large, comfortable bed. Tea & coffee facilities included a Nespresso machine.

Breakfast was a buffet affair and the quality was good, with plenty of choice. On one of the mornings they seemed a little over-run but generally things ran as expected. We didn't have dinner in the hotel restaurant so cannot comment on that, I'm afraid.

This proved a good hotel for our stay over a weekend, although I imagine it becomes a little more business-oriented during the week.

A great weekend at St Pierre Park. We were there for a reunion with a group of friends and the hotel was a great choice. We rented a car as we were a little way out of St Peter Port, but the regular and reliable bus service passes right by the hotel so we could probably have managed without one.
We had a private dinner on one evening and were well looked after by the catering team.
