We booked a 5 night Christmas stay and were not disappointed. The food was of high quality despite the high number of servings. The staff were excellent including the men/ladies in suits who mucked in as required. The room was standard fare, adequate but nothing special. Nice large towels though which we appreciate. Minor grumble would be the price of wine and the lack of a real ale in the bar.
Not an issue for the hotel but Guernsey is basically closed during the winter so don't be deceived by the "a resort for all year tourist advertisements".

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas break at St Pierre Park! From the bedrooms; to the food, staff hospitality and organised trips, the entire experience was wonderful.

We were particularly impressed with the level of attentiveness of the core staff, which made the experience all the more special.

The selection and quality of the food at all meals was also excellent.

We will definitely return to St Pierre Park in the future! Thank you for a Christmas to remember!

We have just returned from a five-night Christmas Break at this four-star hotel and the experience simply could not have been better. The rooms are large with plenty of storage, the bathrooms similar. The food was outstanding. Christmas Day buffet lunch included turkey, goose, lamb, gammon, duck, pork and beef so it was very hard to choose. Meals were accompanied by a keyboard player with absolute mastery of the instrument and an astonishing repertoire of songs. His voice was gentle and perfect for the occasion. Above all of this, however, was the incredibly friendly and helpful attitude of the staff. Altogether a brilliant break and in our case outstanding value as the price include our flight from Gatwick and car hire while we were there.

Just spent a delightful five days at this spa hotel. Many thanks to S, F and P and their respective teams whose professional, polished and sensitive approach to their guests ensured that not only was our Christmas break the low key affair we wanted but at the same time quite special in meeting all of our needs. If I was going to 'nit pick' then it would simply be to say this: there was a little inconsistency with the service at breakfast when our toast and hot drinks arrived as we were finishing our breakfast. This only occurred when we sat along the side of the restaurant not in the middle or by the window. Also what is the issue with black pepper? We continually struggled to get hold of it in the first place. Why can't the pepper mills just be put on the table? Minor points I know but the pepper thing became a 'bug bear' as the week progressed. It didn't spoil our visit but for us it was the difference between good and outstanding. I'm sure that these minor inconsistencies can be sorted with relative ease and look forward to returning to your delightful hotel in the future.

Great staff, lovely room and great value. Breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable, spotless room with well equipped bathroom and great shower. I would definitely stay there on my next trip to Guernsey.

Stayed for one week business. Surprised that I could hear the person next door blowing his nose like if he was standing next to me. Restaurant menu is weird and food not very good. Staff is from eastern countries and not very helpful or friendly. Wifi although offered keeps disconnecting every 5 minutes and the hotel in general is falling to paces. However rooms are clean and the beds comfortable.

I have stayed at the hotel many time on business over the past 5 years. Generally staff are polite, the rooms are a little dated and tired (the bathrooms were revamped a while back) but have seen no issues with cleanliness. Location of the rooms vary and can be quite noisy when placed at the back of the hotel (overlooking the car park) as these are close to the air con units, or those that are near to the road.

Since Hand Picked took over little changes have taken place such as irons and ironing board are now in each room, tea & coffee in the room has changed.

Breakfast is a very large selection of fruit, cereals and cooked and is of a good standard.

Having previously had negative experiences with the bar food, I have not eaten in the hotel (with the exception of breakfast), for well over a year.

As this is business I do not get an option to stay anywhere else however I am sure there are better and worse hotels in St Peter Port

Went with the good lady for a quick last minute getaway. Was looking for somewhere quiet, all the spa bits, good food and not over run with convention and business folk at breakfast, or running up and down the corridors at midnight. And I must say, it does the job nicely. Breakfast is superb, fresh buffet, proper sausages and fresh eggs or more fruit and yogurt and warm pastries than you can shake a stick at. Only served until 9.30 a.m. though, so if you're looking for a late one, it's going to be room service which again has an excellent all round menu. The breakfast room is being refurbished at the mo, but you wouldn't know it as breakfast is served in the main restaurant and there is no noise or mess, so don't let the thought of refurbishment put you off. Yes, there are conferences during the day but being a small island I guess most of the delegates go home after. As a precaution I phoned the hotel in advance and requested a quiet room, which was no bother for them and we got one. The bed was brand new, the room clean and for the entire stay, we didn't hear a thing. No banging doors, no snoring in the room next door, no chatter or running in the corridors, no flushing of toilets and no hearing the neighbors conversations..excellent. The pool is great, however I would say the changing room set up is strange and the separate male/female sauna/steam rooms disappointing, I guess if you are a looking for time away from the opposite sex it's ideal. One thing I would say, is that the website does nothing for the setting, it's lovely and peaceful set in the enclosed grounds leading from the lake up to the golf course. The golf shop and clubhouse of which is away from the hotel itself. Parking is excellent also. We went by Condor ferry from Weymouth and left the car at home. You really don't need one, the island is so well serviced by buses and at a pound a trip you really can't grumble. The bus stop is almost outside the front door (outside Waitrose which is useful) and runs every 15 mins into town (5mins). It's walkable but again you may as well jump on the bus. (Tip: If you intend taking the bus trip around the island, keep your ticket from the hotel to the main bus terminal and present it when you board the next bus around the island. You won't pay another pound. That's value!) The only criticism I did have of the hotel was that at dinner they do not ban the use of mobile phones in the formal Victor Hugo dining room. A real shame as a lovely peaceful or romantic dinner is ruined by some ignorant so and so, and the staff when asked, do nothing about it. There is a separate informal dining room area and bar in which to conduct business or chat to friends on the phone. Overall a very relaxing stay, cheerful, welcoming and very accommodating. I would recommend for business or pleasure.

Stayed for 3 nights for a Reunion. The hotel offered special rates and there were about 100 of us staying. The room we occupied was a reasonable sized twin overlooking the main road so a little noisy but with the window closed you barely noticed it. We arrived quite early on the Friday afternoon but our room was ready. On the Friday evening we had a "Meet and Greet" in a private room with a separate bar and an excellent buffet with many choices which was located in a small room next door so that the main room just had the tables and meant it was easy to move about.
Breakfast everyday was a huge buffet again with a great choice not only of cooked food but cereals, pastries and fresh fruits.
We had a full dinner on the Saturday Night and again the food was delicious, very well cooked and serving staff very efficient.
The hotel had a decent swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna and there is a golf course attached. It is only about a mile out of town and is on the bus route if you don't have a car or want to drive in to St Peter Port. There is plenty of parking at the hotel too.
We would certainly stay again if we went back to Guernsey.

Having visited Guernsey several times before and staying at various hotels I decided this time to choose St Pierre Park. I expected a slightly higher standard than at previous hotels but wow was I surprised. It was first class and could not find fault with anything. The room came above expectations and the breakfast was fantastic with such a choice and to have the dining room overlooking the lake was a bonus. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. The leisure facilities were also very good but the swimming pool could have been a bit warmer for my liking. Unfortunately I did not have time to enjoy any of the pampering as it was fully booked and I was only there for a couple of days. \i would certainly recommend this hotel.

Having visited three times previously we went back to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with friends. The staff were very good, helpful, clean and tidy. The room overlooking the gardens and lake was spacious and appeared recently refurbished but poorly finished. Holes in the curtains, badly unfinished tiling in the bathroom, broken door, one towel and robe - we were two and although reasonably clean not fresh. Bed very good. The Victor Hugo restaurant which had a fantastic reputation was very poor indeed. Previously the food had been outstanding but honestly it was beyond disappointing. Breakfast was wonderful. . ~The Staff attentive and really the star of the hotel was the great selection. Hot and cold. Perfect. However the windows were filthy. Thread bare carpets in the lift and curtains hanging down in corridors. Dirty brass and old unclean dried floral arrangements made it seem like a deserted old hotel waiting to be shut down. Fresh flowers in the lobby although someone when delivering had forgotten to take the dead and smelling ones away. The bar area with its two large TV screens which are on day and night constantly playing news one end and sport the other are a total nightmare. There is no where to sit quietly and have a drink or read the papers. To eat in the area you have to either climb up on to the two high stool tables or indeed eat off coffee tables. Its absolutely stupid. The velour covered sofas and chairs are dirty. Sticky in fact. Quite appalling. Please note that my family and i having visited before really can see the hotel in a true perspective. Having been here during all the seasons and at one time over the christmas period we can only say that if action is not taken soon the St pierre Park hotel will be lost as the beautiful hotel it once was forever.

We stayed here for the first time after many holidays in Guernsey, the hotel is very good. There are a couple of things to consider before you choose this hotel. It is about a 30 minute walk to central St. Peter Port, mainly down hill, this can be a problem if you are without a car, it is on two bus routes the 41 and 42 both go into town and taxis are plentiful. It is both a holiday and business hotel. When we stayed there were a number of conventions going on in the hotel, this could affect a stay there. We had no problem with it. Our room was I understand a standard room. It was perfectly fine and every bit what we expected. We have stayed in many hotels that rate themselves above the Pierre Park only to be disappointed. We would stay here again.

Had a wonderful weeks holiday in this lovely hotel. We had a room on the second floor just above reception. The room had a small balcony with a table but could only fit one person out there at a time. Being above reception at times when we had the patio doors open it could be noisy but generally it did not bother us. The nice thing was that being on the second floor meant that at the weekend when there are wedding parties you are not kept awake by the noise from the evening reception, I know some people in other rooms did have problems with noise.
The hotel has a lovely view over the lake from the back of the hotel and the rooms at the back of the hotel do have lovely views but our room was quite adequate when I am on holiday I do not want to spend too much time in an hotel room. As long as the room is clean and comfortable and I can get a good nights sleep that is what matters, and this room fulfilled these needs.
We stayed on the half board option and ate in the restuarants every night except one and the food was great and the staff were really lovely and attentive. One night we ate in the bar and have to say we were very disappointed with the meal that night. All the hotel staff we met were polite and helpful.
We did not use our car at all the week we stayed we used the amazing bus service to get us around, the hotel is on a main bus route with buses every 15 minutes costing £1 a journey so it's easier just to get a bus to get around. The hotel is a little way out of St. Peter Port and although I don't mind walking it is quite a trek into town.
I would defiantly recommend this hotel it has a lovely bar area to sit and relax in although the drinks are a little pricey, but overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday.

Stayed here for 2 nights for an RAF Squadron Association reunion. The rooms were spacious, the bed large and comfortable with 3 large pillows each. The decor was good throughout the hotel.
Being a reunion most of food we had during the weekend was taken at the hotel. The Friday evening buffet contained both hot and cold food including lasagne, pork stroganoff, grilled mullet along with various salads, vegetables and potatoes.
The Saturday reunion dinner I had a crab and avocado tian, this was extremely tasty. Mains was roast saddle of lamb with potatoes and veg, again very tasty. The meal ended with vanilla panne cotte with a spiced plum compote again lovely.
The reunion finished with Sunday lunch - a fine selection of roast meats - beef, Turkey, lamb, pork and fish. Various vegetables and potatoes. A large selection of deserts ended the lunch.
The only little comment I can make is the cost of the wine, it seemed a bit pricy but then this is a 4* hotel.
We finished a stay here with a visit to the swimming pool and spa. The only comment I can make about this is the sauna and steam rooms are in the separate male and female changing rooms so you can't continue your conversation with your partner.
All in all this was a really nice hotel and although fairly expensive was well worth the money and the customer service was exceptional.

A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings, we had a three night stay and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
Our room was well presented, the beds comfortable, with plumptious pillows! We slept extremely well in peaceful surroundings.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, service good and all staff very friendly and helpful.
We had the swimming pool to ourselves, and would have liked to stay longer.

we spent four nights at the St Pierre Park Hotel in September. From the reception staff when we booked in everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The grounds are lovely to walk around.Bedrooms were very comfortable the only thing that was lacking was that there was no fridge in the room which I found unusual in a 4 star hotel.Flavio the restaurant manager really made our breakfast times very entertaining, especially making my poached eggs each morning!!!Would certainly stay again and recommend it to other people.

I only stayed one night, and a very rainy one at that, but this was a pleasant comfortable large hotel. The room was clean, the bathroom spacious, the bed comfortable. The lifts looked a little tired, and some of the corridors were long and bland, but otherwise the place looked well presented. I wondered whether they could improve the security of the patio doors from the balconies, as these could potentially be accessed from other rooms.

The highlight for me was ordering a light meal at the bar, as a member of staff made that feel really special, laying out a table cloth and then serving nuts and olives with my drink and then a tasty moussaka with a well-dressed salad and garlic bread, for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was also good, with a nice range of fresh fruit. The other guests were mainly of retirement age, and appeared well looked after.

I was disappointed not to get to the poor or spa. If I visit Guernsey again I will definitely stay here again.

The St. Pierre Park Hotel is located in the countryside; approximately 30 – 40 minutes’ walk from the main town of St. Peter Port. Bus No's. 41 and 42 run every 15 minutes Mon-Sat – less frequently on a Sunday, and reach the hotel in around 15 minutes. The hotel overlooks attractive gardens and a lake, and there is a Waitrose supermarket conveniently located across the road.

Check-in/Out:
Quick and efficient, staff were pleasant and helpful. It is the first hotel for more years than I care to mention, that I have been handed a key rather than a card for the room!

Room:
The room I was allocated was a little dated and featured dark wood furniture and could do with modernising. Having said that it was nice, clean and functional. I was surprised to find that there was no air conditioning for a hotel of this rating. The bed was very comfortable with plenty soft pillows. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. All rooms seem to have a balcony or terrace with table and chairs.

Bathroom:
Appeared to have been recently refurbished; it was of a reasonable size though the shower pressure was pitifully inadequate. It was clean other than the bath plughole having a clump of hair from previous occupants - yuk!

Wi-Fi:
Good to find free Wi-Fi provided, though weak signal in the room.

Public Areas:
Dated; having said that it did have a certain charm.

Breakfast:
Good selection, though the coffee was a bit stewed. Pleasant staff.

Pavilion Café:
Located on the lower ground floor; nice food and again very pleasant staff.

Spa:
Consists of small gym, pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (steam room seating full of cracks), and a type of relaxation room which had tea and coffee making facilities. Robes are provided as you need to walk back and forwards through the spa reception area depending on the facility you wish to use, showers are divorced from the changing rooms for example. Again this whole area is in need of a revamp to bring it up to modern standards.

Overall:
The hotel is a dated but has it does have a certain charm. Had a comfortable stay and would not hesitate to visit again.

We stayed here in September the location is excellent for exploring the staff were very welcoming breakfast fabulous and the grounds lovely. There was a wedding and a birthday party on the Saturday we stayed which the management popped a letter through our door to advise but we didn't hear any noise. In previous reviews people have complained about the noise made by the air conditioning unit which were outside our room but we were up and about when they set off so this didn't bother us much . Would recommend the spa too had a manicure which was lovely and staff were very accommodating when i had to change the booking time as our flight was cancelled and the replacement delayed overall a lovely stay we will return.

We had a wonderful week here. The hotel is situated in lovely grounds with an artificial lake, ducks and a heron. The food was very good and the staff were excellent. They were friendly and helpful. We had a room on the second floor (400s) with a balcony overlooking the garden. The balcony was very small though and the rooms below (300s) had one twice as big. So next time I would want one of those rooms and always facing the garden. The ground floor ones have a terrace and can be in the shade. It is very easy to get into St Peter Port as the bus stop is 2 minutes away and from the terminus you can get a bus to anywhere on the island. We were glad not to have a car as the roads are very narrow and busy! I would definitely return to this hotel.

Having held our company's 50th Anniversary party at the SPP on Saturday evening I have to say that it was a first class experience. The dedicated staff were attentive, courteous and extremely helpful and Julia in events, assisted by Illica surpassed themselves on the hospitality front. Having been upgraded to a deluxe suite complete with terrace and jacuzzi, it was the icing on the cake and they did everything they could to ensure our evening was a huge success and everyone who attended thought the room, the food, drinks and service was second to none. Would certainly recommend this establishment to others seeking a first class experience.

Booked for six nights at this hotel in June and had a great time. We had a room overlooking the car park and really wished we had one over looking the lake. The only disappointing thing that there was some air conditioning units just below the balcony that started early in the morning and went not until about 11 pm at night which were a bit annoying particularly as it was really warm and we wanted to use the balcony. The leisure facilities were really good and I used the swimming pool every day. Breakfast was first class too with plentiful selections. Would definitely stay here again, but in a different room.

Have just stayed again at this hotel and it was even better than I remembered. The staff were so amazing, I cannot praise them enough. They are so welcoming and helpful and really looked after us whilst we were there. We also tried the spa facilities this time and they were fantastic. We will definitely be returning again.
