We stayed here for week at the end of May 2015. welcomed by friendly receptionist. Nice clean/comfortable room although carpet by patio door was worn through. Excellent tea/coffee facilities in room and fresh water/toiletries every day. we used the hotel Terrace Cafe/Bar and whilst main course was ok the deserts were extremely small and a bottle of the cheapest wine set us back £20 ! We walked in to the Victor Hugo bar another evening and was abruptly told nothing available for 30 mins(although tables were empty but not laid out) the waitress could have suggested us to have drink and a table would be ready shortly... We also ate at the Pavilion Restaurant..good service/food and much better wine prices - £14.99 bottle ! but only open Fri/Sat. Breakfast was good with a varied selection, but often cooked breakfast items ran out and needed topping up. Whilst there was free WiFi signal quality was hit and miss and non existent in our friends room. Overall a good experience, pity that smoking cannot be banned or restricted to certain areas/floors? as on room verandas smoke from one area blows into another

Nice hotel but a bit dated, nice and clean with nice staff. The food was nice but not spectacular. The bed was really comfortable but the pillows were to soft for my liking. The wifi can be a bit hit and miss. Needs bringing into the 21st century....

Hotels in Guernsey have leapt forward into the modern age in the last few years, Red Carnation Group with the OGH and Duke of Richmond and the Fermain Valley under the ownership of the Derek Coates empire have shaken the foundations and made everyone else raise their game.

I booked the StPP as a 25th anniversary treat, I knew that a lot of rooms here had been revamped and the restaurants have been getting good reviews, the idea was a relaxing afternoon in the health suite, dinner in the terrace restaurant with the kids and then check out the next morning.

when I booked I was asked if it was for an occasion, I mentioned the silver wedding anniversary and the receptionist said she would make a note of it on the booking, I also asked if we could book a table in the terrace, again no problem I was told.

We arrived at the hotel and had a short wait at reception, I wondered if I imagined the receptionists surliness but this was confirmed as having collected our key my wife said "she was a bit po-faced wasn't she.."

the room was supposed to be an "executive" ok only one up from the basic but i'm afraid to say it was tired and a bit cramped, the bed was two singles bolted together masquerading as a kingsize double, could have got away with it if they hadn't been about an inch different in height ;)

I will review the restaurant separately but needless to say there was no sign of either the booking (luckily they squeezed our table of 5 in) or any mention of the fact that it was our Silver wedding anniversary, as I say maybe my expectations were too high.

One final point that might be a deterrent for modern hotel goers was that in the wing where our room was there was no wifi, or at least none showing up on my phone, it wasn't an issue for me, but it might be for others.

The plus points, well the health spa has a great pool and the gym was fine as far as hotel gyms go. Also the breakfast was really top notch and the staff bent over backwards to get us a window seat overlooking the magnificent gardens.

We booked into the hotel, as part of a 4 day break booked through Condor Ferries. On arrival on 21 May we were advised that, due to a function that night, we would not be able to dine in the main restaurant because of a major function taking place in the hotel. Likewise for the following night. This was very disappointing and inconvenient as, already advised to the hotel, my wife is a diabetic and needs to eat at regular intervals and certainly befor that late in the evening. We therefore elected to eat in the bar which proved to be acceptable. The following night we ate in the Pavilion which, although not part of the hotel provision, proved to be excellent. As we had eaten a substantial meal in the day we again ate in the bar on the Saturday night. On the Sunday we also ate in the bar. On this occasion we found the experience to be very disappointing as there were clearly insufficient staff who, although working their hardest were unable to cope with the large number of people eating in the bar and the service was sporadic and slow to say the least. This in no way can be blamed on the staff as they were working as hard as they could to give good service. It was the same at breakfast the next day with a clear shortage of staff trying to cope with a large number of customers. Our stay was also spoiled by one of the major events taking place (the Gaelic football dinner) continuing to be very noisy well in to the night. Eventually my wife fould it necessary to "address" the revellers at 3am and they then quietened down. We found our stay comfortable in terms of the room, facilities and customer service standard of the staff (in particular the reception staff) but as they were under significant pressure, even with the best will in the world, they were unable to cope adequately with the demands placed upon them. In all it was a stay in an extremely well appointed hotel spoiled

I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions (for work) and have always been a little bemused by some of the positive reviews on this site. The hotel is fine, the staff friendly, but the rooms are tired (executive) and in need of refurbishment (non executive). The restaurant and bar offer basic meals at a premium price compared to some of the excellent restaurants in town.

There is a mobile phone mast on the roof and no evidence of shielding (on the roof) for guest and staff safety. Information can be provided by the hotel where the emissions levels (RF) were measured in the hotel grounds only, however, more revealing (and possibly worrying) would have been an indication of exposure levels in rooms directly under the phone mast or indeed at the front reception desk and manager's office (for staff safety). Whatever your views on mobile phone masts (and safety or not) this is worth considering if you have young children, are pregnant or a former/current cancer sufferer.

The main town is only 30 minutes away by foot or a short taxi ride (less than £10), which is very convenient.

There is a supermarket (Waitrose?) about 2 minutes walk from the main hotel.

Okay, the weather was great so that always helps, but this was a perfect long weekend break. From the moment we checked in the staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was great as were the gardens the golf course and the food. Would recommend to anyone. 5 stars😎

This hotel is located just a mile outside of the port and sits in its own well maintained gardens. The hotel offers a vast breakfast and great selection activities from swimming, golf, crazy golf and tennis.

The rooms are slightly dated but perfectly acceptable and the staff are friendly in the main.

The hotel has one weak point which is a chronic noise issue during the day, this is caused by building work or constant gardening activities.

Booked as a two night stay having just been to Jersey we arrived by car. Directions to the hotel were easy. Leaving the port you enter a large roundabout with a ships mast on it. Go straight over and head up ignoring all turn offs to the left. You'll pass a wait rose on your right and the hotel is opposite, about five minutes travelling time in total. The rooms were lovely and clean with a very comfy bed and good value and a large selection on the room service. Breakfast was very good with my wife's request for runny boiled eggs being carried out brilliantly ( believe me that's not always the case) they had a. Lovely large pool with jacuzzi and all the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife was surprised this wasn't a five star and I have to agree it should be

Stayed here with family visiting Guernsey for a reunion. Hotel is reasonable value : I've stayed in worse places charging more. Restaurant serves decent steak, and the breakfast is very good. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

Pool arrangements are a little strange - changing rooms the opposite direction to the pool - but the pool itself was quiet.

Overall we had a relaxing stay - try & get a room on the 2nd floor away from the reception end - as these have nice balconies, 4th floor balconies are really tiny.

Slightly too much furniture in the room, though, if an extra bed is required as it was for us.

We had four nights here over the recent Liberation weekend. Our room was clean and comfortable and offered a quiet night's sleep. The hotel is in a wonderful setting with a small lake alongside. Staff were pleasant and seemed to be enjoying their work. Breakfast choice was good but replenishing items was slow as nobody seemed to be monitoring take up. "Fresh" bread was crusty on day one but soft and rubbery on the following days. Newspaper ordered for our final morning failed to appear and when asked, the staff knew nothing about it.

My daughter and I have been several times to St Pierre Park over the years and have always loved it. Under new ownership since our last visit, and as good as ever, in fact probably a little bit sprucer. Comfortable rooms, heavenly beds, lovely surroundings, fab breakfast, charming staff. It's the most relaxing place I know. On this occasion I was rather unwell and the staff could not have been more considerate if I had been their own mum. Special thanks to Simon (duty manager) and the Scottish young lady on reception.

Stayed here for 1 night, arriving quite late.
On arrival, the hotel looked lively and the girls behind the counter were friendly.
Check in was easy, although they don't take pre authorisation in debit cards, only credit cards. I didn't have a credit card on me and wanted room service. The staff agreed I could order it and pay straight away on my debit card, which was good.
The room was clean and the balcony was lovely. Nespresso machine in the room was a really nice touch and reception gave me a hug of fresh milk as I hate uht.
When my food arrived, I was given the wrong burger but as it was late, I didn't complain as I was hungry. Please don't see this as a criticism, had I felt strongly about it, I would have complained.
Food was nice.
Free wifi in the room but it is slow and kept knocking me off the network for some reason.
Breakfast was very nice, with a good selection.
Sadly, I was only awake at the hotel for about 3hrs, but would love to come back and see more of it.
I travel a lot with work and haven't stayed at a hotel as nice as this for a long time.
Thank you

My friend and I have just stayed here for the past 4 nights. We chose this hotel as it is 1 mile from the town centre and therefore less noisy. We had an executive twin room with tiny balcony overlooking the lake and the golf course and had requested a quiet room.

The room was quite small and a little tired. The beds and pillows were too soft for my taste. One small radiator that struggled to heat the room and had no thermostat. The first night we came back to find a very loud function going on underneath us. The manager was very accommodating and eventually found us 2 different rooms for that night, in a quieter part of the hotel. This hotel does hold quite a lot of functions so can be noisy at weekends.

Nice gym and pool. We turned up for a pilates class, as listed on the fitness studio door, but no instructor arrived.

The staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good and the large dining room overlooks the lake. Complimentary water, left daily, and a Nespresso machine. Reasonable sized towels and dressing gowns.

It is a pleasant walk into town, although the road is very busy, and there are lots of good restaurants to chose from. We hired bikes and toured the island, which was lovely. There is also a bus that takes you round every 2 hours.

Wine in the hotel bar was over priced and mediocre. Would stay here again and recommend.

pleasant hotel in nice surroundings. Food quality and choice good , drinks pricey, lounge service friendly with comfy seating areas. Breakfast service slow. Room with tea water and biscuits, spacious and bathroom good. Reception staff helpful

My wife and I spent a few days here on our first visit to Guernsey. We were not disappointed. Before I review the hotel I would like to congratulate "Channel Islands Direct" who made the arrangements and the bookings. An efficient service and we even had a box of chocolates from them on our return home. Likewise, we were impressed by the Condor Liberation ferry from Poole to Guernsey. The upgraded cabin provides comfortable reserved seating and at your seat service.
Hotel reception was very welcoming and helpful, our room was very comfortable, clean, well maintained with good views over the lake. The Victor Hugo restaurant provided an excellent, varied menu with food to match. All in all a fine hotel and a good base for exploring Guernsey. My only complaint is about the price of drinks which were extortionate.

The Pierre Park has everything, excellent rooms, food, facilities, set in beautiful grounds & exceptionally good staff. It is a pleasant walk to the capital & then easy access to the ferries to Herm & Sark plus the bus stop is nearby all bus fares are £1 so don't hire a car.

We stayed here for 3 nights and found the staff most helpful, friendly and professional - nothing was too much trouble. My room was spacious with a huge comfortable bed - and as with all rooms had a small balcony. The breakfast variety was plentiful and dinner in the Victor Hugo restaurant extremely tasty and nicely presented. The pool, hot tub and sauna were an added bonus and cleanliness throughout very apparent.
Only a couple of (very) small niggles - no room safe and a mini bar would have been nice.
I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We have stayed in Guernsey before but decided this time to stay in the above mentioned hotel as it appeared to offer what we wanted. As it is situated fairly near the airport and not too far from St. Peter Port it is an ideal place to stay. We made sure the reviews we read sounded as though it was what we wanted.

My partner chose this hotel as part of a package and it most certainly a good choice , it is only a 15 minute walk from the main town , a Waitrose across the road and bus stops nearby .

The room was spacious , well decorated had plenty of incoming light and was situated over looking the playground with the golf course clearly visible just behind it .

The hotel grounds including the lake were well kept and really complimented the surroundings .

Be warned they are currently undergoing renovations on the front entrance and need more appropriate signage to warn of trip hazards.

Cleaning was carried out very efficiently , throughly and with minimum disruption .

The staff were very friendly , Anderson ( a scot ) served us most evenings and he and I briefly discussed Scotland's performance in the six nations .

He declined to expand in too much detail however he was always very polite and professional , his manager was also excellent .

The food for the most part was great , the only flaw was getting a nice stake served with McDonalds style French fries which we did mention should be replaced with thick cut or homemade chips , Anderson suggested these could be requested however we had already started eating by then

The St Pierre Park Hotel & golf Resort on Guernsey is well worth a visit for that touch of Luxury. All rooms are spacious and have large bathrooms with crisp laundry and very comfortable super-size beds with tea and coffee facilities and British channel TV.

Now to the Restaurant. The tables are set out in such a way that you are never to close to the next table, then Menu is to die for a 3 course al a cart meal cost me a very reasonable £65.00 with drinks the service is outstanding. There is also a large bar that opens at 11am and stays open until late but apart from serving drinks they have a full and extensive bar menu food is served all day and its a wonderful place for afternoon tea as the large windows overlook the lake and gardens.

The hotel as it said in name has a golf course and spa and gym and shop I would recommend this Hotel if you wish to pamper yourself.

St Pierre Park Hotel is one of the best locations to stay in Guernsey. Situated central, great for catching a bus. Or nipping to town in the car 5 to 10 min.
Great pool nice rooms especially the onces overlooking the gardens.
The hotel is having refurbishment and needs to step up to the mark on a few things. Breakfast self service food is not very warm as the overhead heaters do not seem to be adicuate. When ordering waiter service the poached eggs came hard or 1 hr wait one morning. We complained to the restaurant manager but I am afraid the self service food still was not very warm but he made sure our waiter service order was correct each day and could not do enough to help, very professional.
When we arrived our bed was too soft even though we had asked for boards under the matresses and I am afraid it took 3 trys to obtain a room we had paid extra supp. for to meet our requirements. Either balcony was only for one person to sit on it, one room had a stain on the carpet as you entered ect. But in the end they bent over backwards and we obtained a lovely room bed boards larger balcony overlooking the garden and even found us a fridge. One lovely receptionist, who nothing seemed too much trouble, returned my hair straightners through the post, cannot thank her enough.
We shall always return to St. Pierre Park as we have been visiting Guernsey for 20 years pluss and look forward to our next trip. Maybe offer orthopiedic type matresses if needed. As it is trying to be a 4 star rating.

We booked this hotel due to its central location on the island as it was the most reasonably priced offering by the travel company. Our specifiaction was for an indoor heated swimming pool, which was one of the best we have used in a hotel. From the hotel it was easy to get a bus into the town, and from there around the island stopping off en-route. We hired bicycles for four days and found it very convenient to reach all parts of the island and back comfortably in a day. This is the very best way to appreciate the twisty, very quiet lanes, and there are plenty of them. We got lost several times!
The hotel itself is excellent, and as our room was to the far end we did not hear any noise from the evening functions. We had been pre-warned about the ongoing work outside the front, but this did not spoil our enjoyment of the hotel at all.
In this area there is one thing that could be improved at little cost. The bicycle rack is too small and needs some improvement. It was undercover until it had to be moved so that the workmen could lay paying slabs, but it didn't rain on the seats, but they did get dusty.
The senior gentleman (from Milano) who looked after us at all our 7 evening meals was absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble for him. As we were there for the week we did find that as the main menu did not change we became bored with the choice. Maybe you could consider changing the menu, but we were pleased to be able to order from a much more extensive alternative menu as served in the bar.
We also very much appreciated the attention given to us on our wedding anniversary with several comments from staff and a bottle of non-alcoholic wine and a card. Thank you.The staff on reception desk were all very helpful and met our needs excellently.
Our room on the top floor overlooked the lake and grounds and had a small balcony with one seat and a table. We were told that this was an 'upgrade', so maybe rooms on this side cost more than those on the other side which do not have the beautiful view.
Definitely book a room on the lake side.
The room was of a good size with comfortable beds and pillows, and plenty of toiletries. There was a minor error one morning when we were not topped up with essential supplies, but this was soon rectified.
One negative about the room was the inter-connecting door. It seriously reduced the sound insulation between the two rooms and we could clearly hear the television in the room, especially on our last night. The occupant seemed to have the TV on all night. What was he watching at 4am? We didn't complain as it was our last night, but overall I would definitely come back again if in Guernsey.

Stayed at St.Pierre Park Hotel whilst away on business. Although I have been here before and always have a pleasent experience this time I wanted to write a review.

The Receptionist was friendly and helpful. She advised me that she could book a table in the restaurant for dinner as I was interested in the Restaurant Menu however as I'd rather eat in the bar (as I was alone) this was no problem and my request was accommodated.

I enjoyed a delicious two-course meal served to me on a clothed table in the bar (the gnocchi was tasty and served as a very large portion) washed down with a large glass of Melba which was medium weight and had a pleasent palate. The service was both polite and professional without being overly-friendly.

My room looked over the car park. However there are rooms at the other side of the hotel which look over the lake and these are, in my opinion more to my liking especially in the fine weather months. The external area at the front is being given a facelift in time for the holiday season 2015 and from the stage of progress reached during my visit promise to make a real visual impact to future guests.

The room had a huge bed with the most fantastic pillows - such comfort felt wonderful after a long day. The bathrobe provided was approciated too. The soap and products in the bathroom smell delightful so don't take your own.

I enjoyed a stroll to the beach with a work colleague; it was about 30 minutes each way so if you have time it is certainly worth the effort. The route takes you past many beautiful homes and as an alternative to eating at the hotel you can enjoy fish and chips on the beach or a meal at one of the fine bars/restaurants opposite the bay.

Breakfast at St. Pierre Park is fantastic with lots of choice and a beautiful lay-out for guests to help themselves. There is no reason why anyone should miss breakfast when staying here!

Check-out was swift and I left feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. Thank you.

A lovely hotel, so welcoming - soft décor, friendly, efficient receptionists. The hotel just feels so relaxed, the grounds are delightful, so pleasant to walk around - I would unreservedly recommend this hotel to all. The swimming pool and spa are more than adequate and we also enjoyed a game of crazy golf.
Our rooms were comfortable, clean and relaxing with a balcony where you sit to enjoy your coffee and the clean fresh air. We requested and received interconnecting rooms - with the children this was such a bonus; we all wandered between the two, the children falling asleep feeling safe and secure = relaxed adults!.
Breakfast was good, so much to choose from, I was also impressed with the table full of alternate diet foods. One gripe was the hour long wait for an ordered breakfast meal, it didn't happen a second time therefore I presume it was a glitch that particular morning and it was delicious once it arrived.
We ate evening meals in the lounge area where board games are available to keep the children entertained and you can choose to sit outside on the patio/balcony area which over-looks the garden and pond. Staff are particularly attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and good value. We didn't use the restaurant on this visit but liked the look of the menu and room.
A lick of paint would improve some of the outside areas but I understand this is in order as work has begun. I would love to return in the very near future to see the completed outside entrance area which looks as if it will be a fountain.
