This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. since my first stay, the hotel has become a part of Hand Picked Hotels Group, It would appear that no updating has been done, the hotel decor is tired, the Rock Garden restaurant is drab and needs brightening. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities are as described. The staff are attentitive, friendly and will look after your every need. The breakfast is of a good standard, and does not involve my pet hate hot buffet breakfasts.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Fermain Valley. The fresh water and sweets in reception were a lovely touch. We stayed in an incredible spacious room (12) in the main building. It was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was AMAZING with a selection of fresh fruit, pastries and juice followed by a chef made meal of your choice. We tried as many dishes as we possibly could on the list. On our final morning we walked down to the bay and spent a few peaceful hours there before flying home. We will be back!

It is 5 years since my Wife and I have been to stay at Fermain Valley. In that time much has changed and I am happy to say that most of it is to the good. The staff seem to be entirely new (I assume many left during the pandemic) and their quality and professionalism was very impressive. The location is pretty much perfect in my opinion (yes, there are many aeroplanes coming in to land at Guernsey airport during the day and they pass close overhead, but that didn't bother us at all). The food: well that's a personal preference, and there are 3 restaurants - The Ocean Bar & Grill serving mainly seafood dishes which was very good, The Rock Garden which is a steakhouse and was just ok, and Buho which is latin-themed and not something we found appealing. Breakfast is served in the Ocean Bar and was absolutely superb.

On to the accommodation then, which is the only complaint I have really. 5 years ago we stayed in the main body of the hotel, and it was perfect. This time round we were in a 'gold' standard room which was located in the same building as the Buho restaurant - this is a very bad idea indeed if you are over 50 years of age. The restaurant is open most nights and closes at midnight and whilst the music isn't too loud ALL the time, once service has finished and the staff start cleaning down the equipment it is like trying to sleep in an industrial kitchen: banging, scraping, dragging and dance music thumping through the walls. I didn't enjoy that at all - the first time I have had to sleep with ear plugs in a 4 star hotel. In fact our room was definitely not that of a 4 star hotel, the main panel of the window - looking towards the sea - had blown it's seal and so was internally fogged all the time. Not great.

That said, however, the overall experience was a very good one and I would definitely return - my Wife is not so sure, purely because of our room.

If the hotel read these reviews, it's a bad idea to accommodate guests in the Buho building, it really lessens the experience.

Staff nice and helpful, breakfast great.
Rooms are sufficient but not ****. Narrow Queen beds. Balcony with beautiful valley views. Nice gardens.
Unfortunately the rooms sit above the Hotel terrace. So you get early bird guests chattering away over breakfast from 7 a.m., continuous music playing for the entire day and late bar guests talking until the early hours. Not the best setting for a relaxing vacation and certainly no invitation to spend time on the balcony.
The views are spectacular, the road to town is narrow and busy, so that you will rather take car or bus than go by foot.

We had a lovely stay. The staff are genuinely fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. Pool is inside but I had it to myself both mornings. Breakfast is amazing with a wide range of dishes to choose from. Sweet trolley is a nice touch. Beautiful walks into town and down to the beach - however very steep!

The hotel is well situated on the bus routes for easy travel to all parts of Guernsey. The beach along with an excellent cafe is about 400 yards from the hotel either by a path through the hotel garden or a public road just outside the hotel
The hotel rooms are excellent with varied views depending on the type of room delected
Food is very good and the included breakfasts are excellent

Top class stay in May 23. 5 mins to the beach cafe. Perfect facilities. Lovey room. Had issue with broken phone and room services left door open, but rewarded with ice cold bottle of wine. Best hotel stay for years. Watch out for service charges included at the bar and restaurants not cheap
