My sister & I stayed here from 30 October - November & had a wonderful, relaxing time. Our booking was with premier holidays which was very easy with further confirmation directly witth via email & telephone. Fermain Valley is in a lovely quiet location near to a sandy beach, and a short walk to the nearest village. We have not been to Guernsey before but despite the weather we had a wonderful time, Guernsey is a lovely Island with great beaches & very friendly people. You don't really need to have to hire a car to see the rest of the island but we did. No where is very far to drive. Even though the weather was not too good for the 3/4 days the hotel staff, in particular Gavin and the restaurant made the stay very pleasant indeed. They were really friendly and a great help, a big thanks to you all. We had a lovely room with a sea view, fruit and nice toiletries. There was plenty of hot water & excellent heating when it got a bit chilly at night. The rooms were bright, clean, with seaview balcony & thoroughly cleaned with fresh towels if you wanted (every day) which we appreciated. We found throughout the hotel the same high standard of cleaniness & the pool a delight, the gardens well looked after too. The food was really very good indeed and healthy with an enormous breakfast buffet with a wide range of fresh hot and cold selection which kept us going most of the day. The three course evening meal was excellent too with good service in pleasant surroundings. We would definately recomment this hotel & hope to 'escape' to Fermain Valley hotel again next year. Good luck you all work very hard to ensure your guests have a wonderful such a lovely relaxing break. Gill & Gail from Lincolnshire & Colchester.

We came here for Sunday lunch with extended family to celebrate my mum's 70th. Great food, great value. Even though we came at the tail-end of a busy Sunday lunch time the service was also very good. And the barman mixes an excellent Bloody Mary. As a group, everyone loved it. One suggestion for improvement: make life easier for the parents and bring the kids' meals out first!

Myself and a friend who was visiting ate here on friday night, being a local and never having been here before decided to try it out after hearing good things about it. We ate in the restaurant upstairs and were greeted and taken to our table straight away. The service was brilliant and we never had to ask for anything, staff were friendly and really made our night. The food was better than I was expecting for a tennerfest. Nothing to fault about this place.

We have recently returned from a three night break here celebrating my birthday. A great success. We were on a special offer which included a cream tea (fab and fattening). The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and efficient and attended to our every need. The room was just as described with a beautiful view down the valley to the sea. The bathroom was rather small but beautifully clean with Elemis toiletries and lovely fluffy bathrobes. Nice touches were the bowl of fruit on arrival and a decanter of sherry (which was replenished each day). It happened to be at Tennerfest time and the hotel was the only place on the island that kept to the £10 menu. Consequently it was full every evening (and also at lunch time I believe). The menu was very extensive and the standard of food excellent. You do need to be quite fit as the hotel is situated halfway down an extremely steep hill, so you have to tackle it when you want to visit the beach or St Peter Port, which is by the way about a twenty min. walk. It is downhill all the way so is easy walking. Advise you come back by bus. There is a very good bus service and you can travel all round the island for £1.

I ate at this hotel only the other week on the fabulous tennerfest menu. I can honestly say hand on heart that the soup was not watered down and my partners fish pie was not 'water with mash' added to it. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, as did I. Yes the restaurant was heaving and I am confident that if the food was so bad as MD (a previous review) had said it was then surely the restaurant would be empty. It makes me so cross when people write such awful things that are simply not true.
The atmosphere was lifted, maybe a little hectic but buzzing. The only corridors I know of are up where the rooms are and I am confident there were no people eating up there.
Well done Fermain Valley Hotel for being so busy and remaining to serve good food for Tennerfest and literally for only a tenner...

Rarely is anything perfect but I have to rate the Tennerfest meal as one of the best for the least amount. Amazingly delicious food, plenty of choice and well presented in an atmosphere of tasteful elegance.
Undoubtedly the best value for money worth telling all my friends and booking for another meal.

We decided to choose the Fermain Valley Hotel for our October break in Guernsey and what a great decision.
From the moment we walked through the door until our departure five days later the staff of the Fermain were outstanding, except one young lady in the restuarant, who I feel could do better with her customer relations. The management, understanding a mistake had been made dealt with it with professionalism you would expect from a four star hotel.
The Valley Restuarant partaking in the Tennerfest, delivered a three course meal for £10 which was excellent value for money, and whilst being extremely busy were efficient and attentive, I can only congratulate you all.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable, even to finding fresh milk in the fridge everyday after requesting it when we first arrived. As for the Sherry, what a great touch.
The gardens were beautiful and if able I urge you to walk through the gardens to Fermain Bay and walk to St Peter Port, plenty of seats to relax and take in the magnificent views. Imagine Bluebell Wood in May!
For the first time to have a break from driving we used local buses, what a great experience, I have never experienced such helpful bus drivers, who went out of their way to ensure you reached your destination and all for a £1, in my experience unknown anywhere else in the UK.
The staff and management of the Fermain Valley Hotel should be proud of their achievements, and I thank you very much for making our stay enjoyable.

A four star hotel set above St Peter Port on Guernsey which boasts excellent views from bedroom windows. Very well presented and is worth every one of its stars. Food in the restaurant is excellent and breakfasts are cooked to order, not sat under hot lights drying out as is the way of a lot of hotels. A car is a must if you wish to see all of the island although there is a courtesy bus to the town and airport. Not a hotel for children as they are not catered for in the sense that there is no play ground etc. The swimming pool is small but adequate for swimming, there is also a sauna. The staff were polite and attentive, nothing too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay, and would recommend to freinds. My only concern being that we felt there should be a warning on the bedroom patio doors to take care when using the decking when wet as it becomes a slippery surface and someone could break an ankle/leg easily.

I booked online earlier in the year, after compiling a list of hotels in Guernsey for consideration, (as I have especially complex dietary needs). This was the hotel that replied more or less instantly, with a very positive response to my query. I am always rather nervous of going unseen/unrecommended so far from home, but I was not disappointed.

We had a wonderful welcome, and a personal chat with the chef of the day, who, with his team, ensured I was well catered for during our week's stay.

All the staff were very professional and friendly in their approach, and genuinely seemed happy in their jobs.

Just returned from this beautiful hotel, set high up the valley overlooking the sea. All the staff could not have been more helpful, they really go out of their way for you. The rooms are spotless and spacious, with added complimentary services of fresh fruit, sherry, and toiletries. The hotel has a complimentary bus which will take you into St. Peter Port during the day, the taxi fare is £7 back or £1 on the number 7 bus. We ate at the Rock Gardens, a trendy restaurant within the hotel. The food was delicious and service once again great and good fun. We managed to hire bikes from Cycleworld who actually deliver and collect from the hotel. The cycle routes are clearly marked and this gave us a great insight into how lovely Guernsey is. Whenever we got lost, someone seemed to be than pleased to help us even coming out of their houses ! We took the boat across to Herm and did the circular walk over there, what a beautiful unspoilt island that is! and with places to eat and drink. We had one meal out that was at Da Nellos once again great service, and super food with great atmosphere. There is so very much to see on this wonderful island... and cannot wait to return and stay once again in the Fermain Valley hotel it covered all our expectations and more thank you so much for a super four days.

We found this hotel excellent in every way - a very well run, comfortable and unpretentious hotel in a beautiful setting. All the staff were helpful and the food delicious. The dining room was attractive and we enjoyed coffee after our meal in the lounge or library.

We too booked in January this year for a 5 night stay and on arrival were allocated a room in the Venue, which is not what we expected. The room was OK but we felt very "out of it". The walk through the gardens is pleasant enough, but a fairly steep incline for anyone less able, with no warning that this is the case.

It would have been good for the lunch and evening menu to be posted in the Venue, to save traipsing back down the garden. Regret that we felt the meals to be overpriced, so ventured out to find superb restaurants elsewhere ( there is no shortage on the island) Also felt that the Restaurant ambiance lacked any atmosphere ( possibly because of its size)

The Hotel promotes its view - but be warned, realistically you can only see a small patch of sea at best.

Regret that we wont be back as we felt a bit "ripped off" on the entire package and I am sure that we could have done a better deal elsewhere.

I know that hotels need to do all they can to fill up rooms but our experience at this hotel has left us a bit put out.
We booked in January because we needed to be sure of the accomodation because we were attending a wedding on the island.
We were quoted £185 per night for a 5 night stay for the only type of room available at the time, one in the Venue building at the back of the hotel.
The hotel website says, "Please note that we operate an early booking policy. The further in advance you book, the more favourable you will find our Best Available Rate."
We were also told that packages were not available. . About a week before we were due to arrive I noticed that a room had become available in the main building so I rang to change and pay the higher rate but this time I was offered a package rate of £975 for 5 nights which included one dinner.
Imagine then our surprise when we read the review by Sheena1962 a local who paid £80 b&b for a room next door to us on Friday 23 August. In fact as we were returning from our night out her partner appeared out of their door in an unbuttoned pyjama top on his way to see their friends in room 19!
Another thing to note is that not all the rooms have bath and shower. Apparently 2 rooms have shower only and one room has bath only. The bathrooms are small and the bath in our room was very short.
The location is lovely apart from being on the flight path.
We thought the food was average, with the cooked breakfasts being the better meals.
We overheard complaints about the noise in the Venue building from a function and were relieved we were not in there ourselves.
Overall we had a pleasant stay but feel that the pricing could be fairer and the room descriptions more accurate.

The wedding experience was wonderful. The guests were impressed by the food and service. Many thanks to April Milnes who has been working with us on this wedding for over a year! and to the General Manager for his help in the run up to the big day. I would recommend the Venue at Fermain as a wedding venue as it overlooks the sea, surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, is picturesque, the food is top class, the service second to none and the honey moon suit is impressive.

A few suggestion - possibly on a wedding day ensure all wedding guests are sleeping at the venue so that any noise from the wedding will not be a nuisance as the guests are also in the wedding. There were a few non-wedding guests who stayed at the venue and am sure they stayed awake due to the music from the downstairs

Possibly change check in time / check out - for honeymoon room because Ideally, the wedding couple would be busy through out the day as its their big day, and they are usually one of the last people to go to bed, so ideally it should be flexible in that whenever they actually are physically in the room is essentially their check in be it 2 a.m. or whatever, and therefore they have the benefit of the room for the next 21 hours!

My husband and I are local and were on a Quids In deal. We checked in, were shown to our rooms by Daniel, who was very pleasant and professional. We decided to walk all around the lanes which was wonderful. We returned the hotel - after walking for over 2 hours - and had our cocktails outside, which were delicious. As we had already been out for lunch we decided to order a sandwich to share and moved to the bar by the restaurant. The sandwich was well presented and the price was little or no more than you would pay in any other establishment. All the staff we came into contact with at the hotel were pleasant and welcoming. The hotel and its staff are to be commended for their professionalism and welcoming natures. This is one of, if not the, best we have stayed in, although we had previously been in a sister hotel - Braye Beach, Alderney which was an equally fantastic stay too. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We have been coming here for our wedding Aniversary every year now for 4 years, it would normally put us off to visit the same place but the experiance here is always first class and the view from the gold rooms that we book are the best on the island.

I managed to book myself and my husband and 4 friends on a Quids in deal for £80.00 per couple for Bed and Breakfast in a Gold Double room including a Cocktail each in the Rock Garden bar on Friday the 24th August.

We do live in Guernsey , but myself and my husband do like to try and stay at Hotels when they have special offers on so when I saw this I did not hesitate to contact my friends to see if they wanted to come.

We checked in at the Hotel and we were greeted by the friendly receptionist who gave us our key's and asked us if we would like her to show us to our room, as one set of friends had already checked in we told her that they would show us where to go.

We went up to room 17 and we were not disapointed , the room was tastefully decorated in pastel colours , with double door's out on to a balcony, it had everthing you would expect of a hotel of that standard including a mini bar with complimentry water, a bottle of sherry, a liitle box of Guernsey Fudge, some fresh fruit, safe , iron, ironing board, they even offered us a turn down service which again they came in and put a little bottle of water and glass each side of the bed with a little card advising us of what the weather would be like for the following day.

We went down in to the bar and ordered coffee and just sat and chatted away ,it was pouring with rain but that did not dampen our spirits, we all decided to go up and get ready and get together for a sherry in one of the rooms at 1800 which we did , we then all went up to the Rock Garden bar and ordered our complimentry CockTail, The Barman was very good and very funny and he knew exactly what everthing was and looked so proffesional when making them. We went and sat out side in the garden under the awning with the heaters until a further four friends joined us for drinks.

I had booked a table in the main restaurant as the Rock Garden was fully booked but we were definately not dispointed. We were given the three course menu along with the a'lcarte and the set menu was so good that we all opted for that at £25.00 per head .

The food and presentation were excellent , the staff were extremely polite and helpful and all together it made for a fantastic night , we went and sat in the lounge with our coffee's etc until our friends taxi arrived and then the rest of us all went up to bed.

We had decided to all meet for breakfast at 0830 and again the staff were very friendly as we asked them if we could have a table for 6 and they kindly set one up for us.

We all ordered our breakfast, again there was everything you would expect , continental, fruit's , yogurt's, meats croissants, you could order smoked kippers , eggs as you like , full english.

We all agreed that we had a fantastic time , again the Hotel, Food,Staff and Friend's Company made it and enjoyable stay and we would definanetly do all over again, our meal and drinks before dinner, wine with our meal, port, irish coffee etc came to £85.00 per couple which was an excellent price.

Well done Robert and your team for giving us an enjoyable stay and making us want to do it all over again, even though we were on a quids in offer we were treated exactly the same as everyone else

Thank You from all of us

This hotel deserves to be at the top of the tree. The staff were very helpful, the food excellent and the facilities superb. Yes it was expensive, but to spend all day in and around the hotel instead of the usual "where shall we go today" says it all. Treat yourself.

I stayed here for business and although it is mainly a leisure hotel I found it surpassed my needs. There are two lovely restaurants, the valley restaurant is great for a more formal dining experience and wonderful food, although you do pay the price (around £20 for a main). The bar next door is more reasonable though and the food is still of a very high quality. I think the rock garden is open every night except Monday, a much more relaxed place to eat and the cocktails are to die for. Overall a great experience, lovely room, attentive staff and good facilities. A walk in the gardens after dinner is recommended.

I was invited to sing at a wedding held at The Venue function suite of the hotel. I was that wowed by how lovely this place was I had to write a little review. After a horrendous experience of having to leave all my toiletries at the airport, the hotel staff were so accommodating and gave me a lift to the nearest supermarket so I could freshen up. They didn't have to do that and it was a really nice gesture by the staff. My room was beautifully decorated, clean and bright. All the staff seemed really happy and very professional and courteous. The (buffet) food was excellent and beautifully presented, the grounds were well kept with beautiful flowers in the gardens between the Venue and the main hotel. So, I'd definitely stay there again if I was to return to Guernsey - hopefully for longer next time - and I would recommend this place to anyone.

My friend and I stayed at the Fermain valley back in April, it has taken me a while to leave feed back but I really felt that they deserved the praise.
I was so impressed by the standard of all the staff we came in contact with, they were extremely pleasant, helpful and most welcoming
All of whom contributed enormously to us having such an enjoyable experience may I congratulate you on the 5 star standard of all your staff.
The food was excellent especially the Lobster and crab ravioli well worth of a Michelin star, the room was very nicely decorated and very clean all the communal areas were spotless, there was also a choice of nicely decorated lounge area to relax in, and our favourite was the study.
The terrace over looking the sea was so tranquil with a breathtaking view, shame about the weather but we took advantage of the private cinema this was available at no extra cost.
There was courtesy bus that took us down to the town free of charge, but for a £1.00 you can go all round the Island by bus
We were on a deal but at no point were we made to feel superior to any of the full paying guests.
I would like to say a big thank you to Gavin who was so helpful when I had a problem with my credit card, also Sarah and Daniel all of whom were a credit to the company.
Fermain valley is well worth a visit.

Recently stayed for 3 days at the Fermain Valley for a wedding in Guernsey and had a lovely time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had a room with a little balcony and the sun shone the three days we were there so we spent plenty of time sat out on the balcony enjoying the sunshine.

We ate in the restaurant for two nights and the food was fantastic. The restaurant wasn't very busy so there wasn't much atmosphere but we couldn't fault the food or service.

The hotel is a short walk down the hill to Fermain Bay which is beautiful and quiet. You can walk along the cliffs into St Peter Port, which takes about 45mins. We did the walk several times and the views are spectacular, although the walk is very hilly so not for the faint hearted.

All in all a lovely hotel and will definitely be back soon.
