We had a lovely three night stay here during a very cold spell of weather. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the stunning Fermain Bay. The hotel was very comfortable. The bedrooms were well appointed and very clean. We ate extremely well twice in the Valley Restaurant and once in The Rock Garden. We had the cinema to ourselves one freezing, windy afternoon. A nice touch was the hotel mini bus taking us down to St Peter Port in the morning. Very easy to get the bus back with only a very short downhill walk from the bus stop. We look forward to returning when we might be able to look forward to warmer sunnier weather as the outdoor facilities looked very welcoming for dining and relaxing and the beach is just a short stroll away.

lovely hotel, really enjoyed our week there, even in a cool February!
the food in the main restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner (didn't have lunch); nice soups, very nice meat and fish dishes; service was generally very good, nice choice of wines
the food in the so-called "tapas" bar was not so good, and the service was dreadfully slow - we ordered drinks, saw them being made at the bar, then they stayed there for 4-5 minutes whilst we nearly died of thirst - eventually got up and fetched them!
lovely walks, albeit a little hilly nearby - go down the hill to the beach, then turn right for lovely coastal walk, great views; or turn left for lovely coastal walk down to St Peters Port, about 45-55 minutes on this walk (directer via roads about 30 minutes - downhill going, uphill returning!)
local buses very good and cheap! good way to see different parts of the island if you have no car

Stayed for a long weekend and we had a wonderful time. The hotel was superb as were the staff. The manager Robert was very attentive and made us all feel very welcome. The rooms are very nice, comfortable and kept very clean. The complimentary fruit, sherry and chocolates was a nice touch too. This hotel is ideal for walkers or for those just wanting a nice relaxing weekend and I will definitely come back and stay at this hotel again.

This is a lovely, well-run and convenient hotel. The room and the bars, restaurant and food were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and service was, in the main, smart.

The question to be asked, though, is whether the Channel Islands now offer such good value for money. Flights are not cheap, good hotels and restaurants are 'upper quartile' in UK terms, taxis are more expensive than in London, car hire (certainly with Europcar) was a rip-off because we were charged a daily rate for petrol such that we would have needed to drive all day everyday to use it all and with no refund on unused fuel - and on our recent trips the weather has been no different from in England. Gone are the days of bargain flights, cheaper drinks and the real duty-free experience. For what this three-night break cost, we could have had several nights in a good hotel in warm sunshine much further south.

Had a fabulous weekend March 8th ~ 9th.All the staff were attentive and very pleasant ~ our room had a sea view and balcony and was superb as was the rest of the hotel ~ Robert the Manager is a real hands on Manager, he was always chatty and smiley and although busy made a point of having a few words each time he saw you. We would certainly like to return when we have the time.Ideal place for walkers or just to chill out and enjoy the hotel facilities ( see web site for more on hotel facilities )There is also an added bonus of the use of the courtesy bus when available.

Thank you all for making our stay memorable

Just visited and had a fab time, all staff very attentive and helpful from Rob the Manager, Tom the barman, down to the waiters and cleaners. Stayed with Quidsin promotion and it was exceptional value for money. Everything about it was first class, from the personalised welcoming letter, complimentary fruit , sherry & chocolate in the room, clean tidy and comfortable room with good bath and shower, to the Rock Garden themed bar where we had a lovely cocktail per dinner, to the wonderful three course dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and shall definitely return.

We stayed here overnight and had a really great stay. The welcome was excellent and the person on reception explained what the hotel had too offer. We had a really nice room with a balcony which unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of due to the weather. Had a pre dinner drink in the Rock Garden cocktail bar fooled by an excellent meal. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We have just spent a wonderful 2 night, 3 day stay at the Fermaine Valley Hotel on one of their away deals with flights from Jersey included for only £99. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel, we updated to a gold room, at only a small extra charge of £10. pp. was excellent value, we even had our room re-serviced and beds turned down again each evening. As it was our wedding anniversary we ate one night in the Rock Garden Restaurant, again the service, and food was excellent. If you want to spoil yourselves, or just get away for a relaxing break, this is just the place. We will definately go again. As the weather was reasonable we were able to get out and about so we did not use the facilities, so I am unable to rate them.

We stayed in Fermain Valley Hotel for 2 nights - our room was simply stunning (room 14 which is a platinum grade room) with a beautiful view of Fermain Bay. Highlights included a sumptuous afternoon tea, fresh delicious breakfasts, a knockout gourmet lunch and wonderful dinners. We were unable to finish any meal, due to the generous portion size. Hotel is about 10/15 mins from the airport and we found out after is located on the 7/7A bus route if you have the need for it. The hotel has 2 restaurants to choose from - The Valley Restaurant (where breakfast is served, and lunch and lounge food are available from) and The Rock Garden, which is also a cocktail bar, and seems very popular with Guernsey residents. We also had treatments at the hotel (reflexology and sports massage with Georgie Ede-Golightly and we both would highly recommend) The staff were very accommodating and friendly. There is a lovely personal touch to the hotel, it's clean, fresh and cosy - and a real treat to be looked after so well. The real gem of this hotel is its manager, Mr Robert Steen, who takes such pride in the hotel, its staff and its amenities. We witnessed him going out of his way to make people feel welcome and comfortable - it's obvious to see his commitment to excellence. We very much look forward to returning to this hotel and wish them continued success for the future.

We booked in for long weekend based on the travel agents recommendation. The hotel is very comfotable, we had a room with a balcony, included nice touches like sherry, water, slippers and bathrobes in the room. Very helpful friendly staff. The food was good especially in the Rock Garden. Will definately stay again.

We stayed at the Fermain Valley on the weekend of 1st -3rd March 2013.
The room was a silvet room and was located up a short hill through the gardens, we were not told this when we booked but luckily although the weather was cold it was not raining, or it would have been a pain.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, the indoor pool looked good but the water was not very warm, the sauna did not get hot and there was no hot water in the changing rooms or the showers.
The breakfast was really tasty and the meal in the evening was very good.

We took advantage of a special offer through Blue Islands which included flights, two nights accommodation and airport transfers, which was very good value. Everything went perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed our short trip. The hotel is situated in one of the nicest parts of Guernsey with lovely walks into St Peter Port. We upgraded to a Platinum room which was huge, very comfortable, with lovely views over the valley. It was very quiet at the Hotel during our time which suited us perfectly. We had the pool all to ourselves. Their cinema is free of charge to guests and you can either choose one of their dvds or provide your own and they even supply free popcorn! We ate both nights at the Rock Restaurant which was lovely. The staff at the hotel and in the restaurant were brillilant and we would not hesitate to recommend this place.

My immediate impression was one of a clean well maintained hotel, access from the main road is through 'The View' but you can go down the side road. It is situated in a lovely valley and the building uses the steep slope well but there are a lot of stairs!
The staff are superb, helpful and courteous without fawning and I never had to wait more than a few minutes to be seen to. The food was of a high quality and well presented and the included breakfast was as good as I have eaten anywhere
The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. This was out of season but there were a lot of us, some more rowdy than normal but the noise didn't travel
I will definitely go back

We stayed here in one of the Platinum rooms during a very cold week in February. I unfortunately was ill with flu during our stay and the staff were really helpful, delivering breakfast to our room each morning at no extra charge. If you have to be ill on holiday this was the ideal location - warm and comfortable with a lovely view down the valley to the sea from our room.

We travelled via ferry from Poole and took our car which gave us flexibility to see the whole island despite the chilly weather.

Thank you to Fermain Valley Hotel for looking after us so well. We will definitely return!

I took my wife to the Fermain Valley Hotel as a surprise treat for her birthday. We soon realised that I had chosen an excellent hotel in a great location and with staff who were so helpful and efficient.
All the staff we met went out of there way to make things perfect for us. The hotel also has some great touches such as its own cinema, free chocolates and fruit in the room and bathroom robes. The rooms were really clean and to a very high standard. The beds were so comfotable, I have not slept so well for ages. The restaurant facilties were excellent and the food delicious.
I would not hestitate to recommend the Fermain Valley and we will certainly go back, hopefully before my wifes next birthday.

We booked our trip through Condor breaks for four nights bed and breakfast sailing from Portsmouth and returning to Poole. The ferry experience coming over was excellent. The hotel looked beautiful on arrival with lovely flowers and gardens outside and a magnificent view of the sea. Booking in was seamless and we quickly settled into our room No. 23. Beautiful boutique style decor and fab Elemis toiletries in our En Suite. Everything you could possibly want in a room with beautiful views also. The swimming pool area is a pleasure to use and the Sauna too. Breakfast is a vast array of cold foods and also a full selection of cooked food. I would personally recommend the Cumberland sausage, bacon and fried egg. This hotel is a little gem tucked away near St. Peter Port which is wonderful shopping and eating district. We would recommend Mora Restaurant and Grill on the Esplanade in St. P. P.Try the tapas especially the calamari! Will definitely come back here and recommend it to friends.

The Fermain Valley Hotel was originally recommended to us by friends who are residents of Guernsey and we have returned for 4 subsequent visits.
We usually book our visit through Condor Ferries so I suppose we are actually 'Package Tourists' but not that we notice from the attention and friendly service given by the staff who always have time for a chat or to give local advice when needed.
We usually have a room with a balcolny from which we can sea-gaze and on a clear day, normally plenty of these, Jersey can be clearly seen.
The room and en-suite are spotless and comfortable as are all the public rooms and with the choice of lounges and a library, a room to suit one's mood can always be found.
The breakfast and Valley Restaurant meals are excellent both for enjoyment and value, we haven't tried the Rock Garden yet, perhaps we shall in September on our next visit.
We understand from our 'spies' in Guernsey that the Valley Restaurant has recently been revamped, can't wait to savour this.
However, our last visit in late April 2012 allowed the hotel Staff, especially Sara, to really shine. Our return ferry was cancelled due to bad weather, two days in succession, and Sara's energy in accommodating us for those extra nights has to be applauded.
All in all this hotel makes the enjoyable experience that is Guernsey into something quite special.

Yes, this hotel is of a high standard and in a great location. Very close to Fermain Bay,just a few minuets walk away, you could spend a happy hour or so reading and just listening to the sea, or take the cliff walk and enjoy the views. It takes about 50 minuets to walk into St Peter Port.
The hotel has a lovely location with many sun traps outdoors. The food was of high standard, try the Full English Breakfast and you will not have to eat untill evening. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, we had a balcony over looking the grounds and the sea was in view.We took advantage of the cinima in the Corporate Building and enjoyed the leather seating with a bottle of wine all to ourselfs. We only had to pay for the wine but popcorn was on offer.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Without a doubt,I would highly recoment this hotel and will be going back.

We took my mother-in-law back here for her 80th birthday - she originally went there for her honeymoon (husband since passed away). We were really impressed by the hotel and in particular the management/level of attention we were paid. The staff bent over backwards to help my mother-in-law and make her stay relaxing. She has serious allergies and at each meal staff had already marked her choices on the menu. There were 10 of us in all ranging from 12 to 80, we all enjoyed it. We have a private cinema showing of Casablanca which everyone enjoyed - an excellent atmosphere. The pool, changing rooms and sauna were CLEAN - wonderful.

We came here for a break, hubby, myself and our 10 year old for a half term break and to visit friends on the island.
The hotel was lovely, well deserved it's 4 stars. Our room was spotless and very nicely decoated, huge bed (and camp bed for son) and lovelt bathroom. The view over the bay was stunning, more than we expected. The indoor pool was heated to a comfortable warm temperature and m son loved it, the sauna was a welcome retreat for the both of us!
The Brasserie in the evening was good value and the service good. There was a small group of businessmen eating there at 8pm and one of them who seemed to be the host used the 'F' word a dozen times very loudly in his conversation and this was ignored despite us and another couple with children complaining.
The only negative aspect which slightly spoilt our holiday was despite our beautiful room there was no double glazing in it, we had storm force 5 winds on 2 nights and this hotel is very exposed high up on the cliffs and the sound was quite frighteing and did keep us awake. The first night my husband was roaming around the hotel at 03.45 trying to find someone as next doors balcony french doors were banging as it was windy and they weren't secured, again we were lierally awake ALL that night. He coulbn't find any staff at all which made us wonder what if there had been an emergeny as all the phone lines to reception told us no one was available!
The reception were excellent the next morning and wentand shut the door, it ws obvious that who ever they said was staying in the room ws certainly not there on that night!
Would have appreciated one night's accomodtion being deducted from the bill but alas....
Breakfast was also excellent but service very slow.

We have spent many weeks in this great hotel. This is the best 4 star hotel you can get in guernsey( I have seen them all). The hotel is not right on the best but within walking distance. Everything about this hotel is high standard. The room furniture, the breakfast and the staff of course. The swimming pool is on the small size but will do. The hotel is divided into 2 main sections: the venue and the main hotel. The venue is about 3-4 minutes walk ( up hill ) from the main hotel. I found the rooms in the venue are much quieter. However, you to walk back to the main hotel for your breakfast and the pool. We have used the restaurant for evening meal as well, the food were fantastic. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the city centre and airport. It is about 10-15 minutes drive from the airport and 5-10 minutes from St Peter's. The main car park can be busy in the evenings but there is always a place to park in the venue. The hotel staff were so polite and helpful. This hotel is built on a hill so there are so many stairs and uphill walk in case you have some difficulties. We have stayed in this hotel ( both as couple and single) for a total period of six weeks. We have tried other hotels: this is the best.

We took advantage of the Quidsin offer and had a fantastic time from being greeted by the reception staff to checking out. The weather was awful but we started our stay with a glass of complimentary champagne which certainly made the day more cheerful. We were shown to our silver room which was stunning with lovely decoration and many thoughtful extras including gorgeous Elemis products and local fudge! We decided to have afternoon tea in the lounge which was so cosy with sumptuous settees and open fire, fantastic for such an awful day, the homemade scones and Guernsey cream were the best we had ever tasted and we settled in to read books we had chosen from the hotel library. Dinner was an absolute treat, with the pigeon main course and sloe gin jelly and meringue desert being the highlight. Throughout service was attentive. We topped the evening off by with our complimentary cocktails. We slept fantastically in a very comfortable bed and awoke refreshed ready for breakfast, which was great quality. All in all we cannot fault our stay and will certainly visit again.

We were allowed to check in four hours early which was a good start, good view from the balcony of Fermain Bay, the hotel is located at the top of the bay which is a wonderful quite, pebble beach with a small but very nice bistro. Breakfast was A+, for afternoon tea there are better options on the Island. The amenities that you get here are the same as you would get in a good London hotel at double the price. Over all a satisfying experience
