The ‘Flying by the seats of our bikes’ 30-mile round trip cycle ride takes place on Tuesday 24th September during National Air Ambulance Week (23rd - 29th September), starting at 10am and finishing at Huntsham Court.  Those taking part were tasked to raise a minimum of £300 each and have already raised thousands of pounds.

Two of the Charity’s high profile patrons, Mary King MBE (Olympic Equestrian), and Lady Penny Mountbatten, will be joined by actress and Devon resident Caroline Quentin for the bike ride, as well as many more friends and supporters.

After the cycle ride, a celebratory champagne reception will be hosted for all participants and their guests with a full programme of entertainment including a special performance by Blundell’s School’s parent and teacher choir, The Mamas & The Papas featuring Caroline Quentin.

Subject to operations and weather, one of Devon’s Air Ambulances will also be making a special appearance.

Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “We would like to thank Huntsham Court’s owners Christopher Badham and Damian Llambias for choosing us as their first Huntsham Hotspot; it is a great honour.  To have support with gifts in kind such as this really does make a huge difference to our fundraising initiatives and means that the money raised for Devon’s Air Ambulances goes straight into the pot to keep the helicopters airborne.”

Caroline added “We very rarely request our helicopter to drop into events, due to their busy operational duties, but this event is just that bit out of the ordinary.”

Huntsham Court co-owner Christopher Badham said:  “We look forward to welcoming Devon Air Ambulance Trust and its guests to Huntsham Court to mark the first Huntsham Hotspot and we’re delighte that, through our scheme, they have been able to arrange such an innovative and dynamic fundraiser which is certain be a huge success, raising a lot of money on the day.”

Damian Llambias added “We selected Devon Air Ambulance Trust from a number of applications based on the creativity behind their proposed event.”
