What a busy week, we have had this week, firstly thank you to the Chestnut Tree House fundraising team for a fabulous weekend out side the store.
Had an amazing morning on Saturday with local councilors and the Mayor and Mayoress, putting the plans in place for a fantastic opportunity in our local parks, to support them all in the green ethos that they have as a town, and a terrific opportunity to work with Hampden Park Shed.
Was a pleasure to meet up with Caroline from 3va this week, to discuss food poverty and what we as a store are already doing to support the people in and around us, and to have discussions about what we could do moving forward to support those on a low income.
Spoke to Alex from Eadtbourne First Responders about the amazing work they do supporting and looking after the defibrillators in Eastbourne and discussing dates for when they are able to come to the store to raise money as this is needed as they do not get government funding.
Saw Loretta at Defiant Sports and discussed how things were with her and the hub, and what they are doing to support young people throughout the school holidays, also met the young Mayor of Seaford whilst I was there, then i had to dash off to meet with Tracy from Wayfinder women and get the information for how we are supporting the vintage festival that is coming up on the 27th August to the 30th this is a free event however you are asked to go to their website to get tickets.
This weekend is Pride weekend and the fair is taking place in Princess Park on Saturday and, having been supporting Hansa from Holding Space to get ready for this great weekend, she has some fantastic raffle prizes and tickets and those are £2 a strip. There is so much going on down there for this party in the park, please go along and see what's happening.
We also saw Nicola that is in the middle of organising a family funday at Hampden Park on the 14th August with a Raffle prize the proceeds from their raffle will be going to Ronald Macdonald House.
We launched a new company initiative alongside the food bank bags we are also doing school uniform ones for the Kids Count Project Hailsham. It's the same process take a bag out of the trolley next to the foodbank cage, add it to your shopping and when you have paid for it place the bag in the box underneath the Champion noticeboard.
You help support us support so many worthwhile causes and we would like to say Thank you .
News about how our Community Champion is helping out in and around Eastbourne.
