Sunday Supper Club for the homeless in Eastbourne

It is with enormous pleasure after a 2-year search for a venue, I can announce we are opening our first Sunday Supper Club for the homeless in Eastbourne on May 22nd.

Sunday Supper Club is a “drop-in” session rather than the more traditional outreach we know and love and both are very different to each other. Drop-in sessions provide a hot sit-down meal ( with pudding), we will provide a book/ DVD Club, the chance to reduce social isolation, mix with others, see our resident hairdresser, podiatrist, wound nurse and other services. Most importantly, we can check on their welfare whilst our homeless community are with us as there is a lot more time to chat to them individually.

It’s also an opportunity for us to emulate a “restaurant experience “ so our guests can gain confidence to eat out instead of huddled in their room or tent over a pot noodle.

Our Hastings club has already enjoyed a huge success in their drop-in sessions, Saturday Kitchen and Sunday Supper Club. It’s time to expand to Eastbourne!

CAN YOU HELP?

We are looking for a volunteers to help out on our new drop-in session running every other Sunday, the second and fourth Sunday in every month.

Doors open at 4.30pm. Supper at 5pm. Doors close at 7.00pm.

A DBS will be required via our agent, a short safeguarding training course provided by East Sussex County Council ( unless you already hold a current safeguarding certificate ) undertaken and our professional boundaries training. All costs will be absorbed by the charity.
