The Polegate Scarecrows Community Fund is very proud to be able to run their annual charity fundraising event again this year. The Polegate Scarecrow Festival 2021 is the fourth in Polegate and is running from 10th - 24th July 2021 supporting SERV Sussex and St Wilfrid's Hospice.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice Say -“Our mission is reaching out to transform end of life care for the people of Eastbourne, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield and all the points in between. We provide specialist care for people with any progressive, advanced life-limiting illness. We thank Polegate for their support raising funds towards the running of St Wilfrid’s Hospice which currently costs over £16,000 a day.”

The Polegate Scarecrows Community Fund was founded in November 2019 by Nathan Dunbar and was set up to empower community efforts to support those who need it. The successes have now raised over £4,000 for local charities, community groups and projects.

Nathan who, in recent years, has generated over £10,000 for good causes nationwide said "We support local community groups, charities and projects whilst organising events for everyone! We are proud to support SERV Sussex as we have been since 2019, Polegate Scarecrows have raised over £1,000 for their amazing services provided by emergency rider volunteers."

It is great to see over 20 amazing handmade creations pop up all over the town. These Scarecrows can be found all over Polegate including the High Street, Victoria Road, West Close and Central Avenue to Levett Road and many more local roads where you can find a Scarecrow!

The Polegate Scarecrows Community fund seeks one final push in charity donations to its beneficiaries and has set up a JustGiving page which is accepting donations (www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/polegatescarecrowfestival2021). There is also a special Scarecrow in New Road, BN26 6ER which has a Charity Wishing Well for members of the public to donate their loose change and cash donations!
