It is estimated that there are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK and in a report by Cancer Research adults aged 50-74 account for more than half of all new cases, and elderly people aged 75+ account for more than a third. Here at Age UK East Sussex we work with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide practical and emotional support to local people, affected by or living with cancer. Over the past year our Macmillan Home Support Service have helped 140 clients and 15 carers. We have also signposted and referred 296 clients on to other support agencies. But, with an increase in need for our services we are asking for support to help us to continue. Whether by monetary donation or your time as a volunteer we would greatly appreciate any support.
