Join Our Christmas Cheer Box Appeal for the Homeless
21st November 2023
... Comments

Our yearly Christmas Cheer Boxes/ Shoes boxes appeal officially starts today.

Boxes will be distributed to our homeless communities on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day.

The homeless children will receive theirs on Christmas Eve.
Some of the children are also going to the local panto, organised by George Rodrigues.

George organises this every year at White Rock Theatre in Hastings and Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne.

Most of the kids have never been to panto so we are taking them! It’s a great event and extremely rewarding watching their little faces.
The first year we set this up, I sat next to a little lad, no more than 5. The fairy Godmother made a dramatic entrance, dressed in the most beautiful gown. The little lad said “ Miss, she’s beautiful. Is she a real fairy?”, his eyes full of incredulous innocence. “yes sweetie, yes she IS real” was my reply. I couldn’t burst that wonderful moment. A moment that he forgot about the cramped conditions he lived in, living by means of our food bank , bullied at school. It will stay with me forever ( and yes I cried when I got home) !

I know so many people are facing a difficult year this year and if you can, please support us with our Christmas Box appeal. You know where it will go to and the difference it will make.

Drop off points are here or we’ll happily collect;
