It's still raining, but beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the shops

Christmas, love it or loathe it, comes round with alarming speed every year.  Each year I put the Christmas tree and adornments back in the loft (sometimes as early as 31st December!) and think "that's it for another year"..... except that it isn't.  The shops send us into a premature frenzy almost as soon as the kids have gone back to school .. well, after hallowe'en anyway!  No sooner have your bonfires burnt and your last sparklers fizzled out you are encouraged to get to it, turf out your trash and make room for the next round of pressies.

It's exhausting.

But there is an up-side to all of this pre-festive nonsense - Christmas carols and festive tunes (even if they are jingling all around in Asda rather early)

Choirs get into it all way before everyone else.  Choir practices for Christmas concerts invariably start in early September.  As they did for Concentus.  We have been hard at it for our two "Concentus Sings Christmas" concerts - one in Seaford, one in Eastbourne - since 5th September, and we are fast approaching the need for polishing and perfecting our performance!

There is something rather heartwarming and cosy about a choir singing Christmas carols and the like in the run up to the Main Event.  If you fancy a feel good evening with us, then by all means do your Christmas shopping, get your sprouts on and stress about the lack of dining chairs, but do get your tickets for one of our concerts before they sell out!

I'm off to write to Santa......
