Eastbourne Free Walkers are inviting local residents to swap a Sunday morning lie-in for fresh sea air, good company and the chance to help protect one of the area's most beautiful stretches of coastline.

Their Footprints of Change community walk takes place on Sunday 2 August, bringing together walkers, volunteers and environmental campaigners for a relaxed beach clean between Seven Sisters Country Park and the Coastguard Cottages.

Organised in partnership with BHASS Explore, the event aims to show how small actions can make a big difference. Along the route, participants will collect litter, meet new people and enjoy the spectacular scenery while helping to keep the coastline clean for everyone.

A walk with purpose

The day begins at 9.00am outside The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, before the group catches the Coaster bus to Seven Sisters Country Park. From there, walkers will make their way towards the Coastguard Cottages, picking up litter along the route before joining volunteers from BHASS Explore for a larger beach clean.

Depending on the conditions, there may also be an opportunity to explore the nearby salt marsh before heading to the Cuckmere Inn for a well-earned drink or bite to eat.

Everyone is welcome

Eastbourne Free Walkers is all about bringing people together through walking, friendship and shared experiences. Whether you come along to help the environment, meet new people or simply enjoy a walk in the fresh air, everyone is welcome to take part.

Participants are encouraged to wear suitable footwear, bring water, sunscreen and any snacks they may need during the morning.
