Eastbourne Borough Council has launched an emergency support scheme for businesses in the leisure and hospitality sector that will take immediate effect.

The Additional Restrictions Grant fund (ARG) provides a remaining pot of £380,000 that businesses in Eastbourne impacted by the spike in Covid infections can apply for.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 9 January.

The fund is limited and will be awarded at the discretion of the council based on the number of eligible applications and available funds to be distributed.

The ARG support is in addition to the new Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer. We are now accepting applications for those businesses who are eligible.

Councillor David Tutt, Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, said: “In Eastbourne we are lucky to have some of the best leisure and hospitality businesses on the south coast and I’m determined that we will do what we can to help at yet another incredibly difficult time.

“I’m obviously delighted that we have been able to put this scheme into place so quickly.”

Businesses in the leisure and hospitality sector in Eastbourne should visit the council website for further guidance and register to make an application.
