The hotel is wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help you. The rooms are fantastic and spar facilities great. Molten Brown products in the bathroom and luxurious bedding plus complimentary newspapers in the morning.

We were in a very relaxed mood and were made to feel welcome by the staff. We sampled both restaurants and in fact we were happiest with the Garden Restaurant as the food was just as good as the other and the service was equally good. The table arrangement suited us better.

We spent just one night at The Grand whilst attending a function in seperate hotel. The Grand was wonderful and worth what, to us, the higher expense. We were tretaed very well and have only praise for the staff and the loevly building. Will visit again.

We stayed at the hotel for only 1 night. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and breakfast the following morning. Cannot fault either meal. The bed was softer than I prefer but comfortable nonetheless.

We visited for our wedding anniversary for 2 nights. Service was fantastic and the hotel was a good old fashioned hotel.

The rooms are clean and warm, the pool was lovely and quiet and also very warm.

Make sure you explore the hotel and read the history all around the hotel.

Old fashioned hotel with great service and a good breakfast. Make sure you request a new room. Our old room was not good value for money . Spa facilities are old but not bad. My wife really enjoyed her massage with bamboo sticks!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a weekend.

The gym and spa facilities were on the small side. The gym equipment definitely needs looking at. Some of it was a little dusty and they need to make a few repairs here and there. But the pool was relaxing, and the service was good. Towels, robes and flip-flops were available from the desk. At the time, the steam room was out of action, but I don't know how long for.

The rooms are a little dated, but classically decorated and they had lots of nice touches (like Molton Brown toiletries and Birchall teas). It was a comfortable room and overall, we both enjoyed our stay. This is a classic grand hotel by the sea and it has many charms. The service in the bar and restaurant was absolutely fantastic and the breakfast in the morning was amazing.

We have stayed at the grand many times although it has been a while since we last stayed. It's old style elegance and it's 5* reputation never lets us down. The staff are extremely professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food and service is second to none. Many so called 5* hotels could learn alot from them. It's not a budget hotel, but you get what you pay for.

Last minute booking for 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast. Plenty of parking at front of hotel. Arrived several hours prior to check in time of 3 pm but room ready for us. Had upgraded to executive sea view room as special occasion. Room amenities good with bottled water, slippers and robe, and molten brown toiletries. No iron in room but those could be arranged via housekeeping very easily.
Bars - as the hotel was only half full the bars were really quite with little atmosphere. Cocktails were to die for as were the liquor coffees.
For dinner we chose to eat in the Mirabelle restaurant which was excellent and had a reasonable variation of menu which would suit most palates. Breakfast was taken in the garden restaurant and again was excellent with plenty of choices.
The staff throughout and without exception were warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at ease. I had booked as a surprise birthday treat for my husband and a birthday card handed to him on arrival by the reception staff made a lovely gesture which was very thoughtful and much appreciated.
I would totally recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere special to stay and we will Definately return some time in the future

As always a very enjoyable stay. We were upgraded to a sea view room which was a delight. The old world atmosphere, friendliness of all staff and the excellence of the dining experience all added to the pleasure

We stayed for five nights and regretted having to leave. This hotel was everything we had hoped for. The staff were very professional yet maintained a very friendly demeanour. The room was large, warm and comfortable, and was serviced twice a day. The toiletries provided were of the highest order, and fresh bottles of water appeared in the room each day. Thank you Grand Hotel for your excellence!

I spent two very nice days at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. Well located, very good service and a very attractive building. The breakfast offered a good choice of dishes, as did the dinner menu in the Garden Restaurant.

A wonderful stay from start to finish. We were made to feel very welcome from the start. Our room was fantastic, I loved the sea view and also the quaint windows , love the fact they are not modern and double glazed and you can actually open them. Wonderful experience all over.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with excellent service. The staff were very welcoming and ensured that our stay exceeded our expectation. We were in a Junior Suite with enormous balcony which was amazing. Certainly be returning again soon.

I reviewed this hotel a few years ago and had a few reservations about it, so here’s a new review explaining why we now love The Grand.
Our teenaged children are at school in Eastbourne as boarders and so we occasionally want to stay a weekend down there with them. The Grand is the best place to stay in the town. It is a vast white stucco building facing the seafront with an extremely useful car park in the front. There is a very helpful man who meets you on arrival and parks your car for you. We have learned to ask for a room a few layers up from the most basic option and clearly ask for a large bed. This is vital as otherwise you can end up with a tiny little wooden double bed. A sea view is lovely but not as important as a good nights sleep so we have stopped worrying about asking for that.
What sets the Grand apart are the absolutely marvellous staff who go above and beyond and are always very kind and cheerful. We look forward to our evening cocktail poured by white gloved mixologists. It’s such a treat! The breakfast is an experience set out in the extraordinarily vast dining room. It is honestly like stepping back in time. The clientele are mainly very elderly and all are beautifully looked after by the wonderful staff. As middle aged people in our 40’s/50’s we feel like teenagers at The Grand.
I’d recommend The Grand to anyone needing a bit of R&R as the proximity to the beach is amazing as is easy access to breathtaking downland walks. We’ve yet to eat dinner the their smart refurbished restaurant as we tend to go out to a more informal local place with the kids - but it’s definitely on our list.
There is a small indoor pool and a well heated outdoor pool in the summer. I should also mention the afternoon tea which is definitely worth having. We once saw the amazing sight of a lady playing a violin accompanied by a small band all in 1920’s dress with about 100 people having afternoon tea on little tables around her.

Just spent one night away on a spa break at The Grand with some girlfriends. Our every need was met with warmth and grace and even though the leisure facilities were a little tired, the wonderful service more than made up for it. A beauty hotel offering real quality and charm. I can commend this hotel to everyone.

A grand old building with lovely public rooms. Service was timely, discreet and courteous at all times. Had dinner in the Garden Room and it was very good indeed. Felt guilty that I had not packed a jacket to wear as the food, setting and service marked it out as a little bit more than your normal dining out experience. We had booked a one night stay to be on the coast and so after loading up on the delicious breakfast on Sunday morning we did what we had come for and had a brisk walk along the prom to take the sea air. Struck lucky with the weather and it was beautiful. The only issues were that the mattress was too soft compared to our normal one so we did not have a great night's sleep and, secondly, it suffers like all 'old' hotels (by which I mean ones constructed before the days of gyms and spas being a nice little earner on the side) from having inadequate gym and pool facilities. Always going to be a problem when you have to shoehorn them into the spaces that you have available in such a delightful old building like this rather than having purpose built facilities like the ones I use in my local, and recently constructed, local hotel gym.All in all a very pleasant break away.

Stayed here with my mother for her 86th birthday and it was faultless. Impeccable service and such a great team who are obviously very well trained. I work in HR and I’m sure this is a company who values its people because there wasn’t even one person who let the side down, in terms of service, every detail was perfect. We had a family lunch on the Sunday which was also fabulous. We had a suite with a sea view and it was fine. I was supervised it didn’t have a separate shower (there was plenty of room for one) but maybe I’ve spent too long in the USA!

Stayed dye to an evening event. Room was big and very comfortable. Room service breakfast was 30 minutes late due to card not picked up and no paper delivered. The room was very nice but the marble surround on the basin was not rounded off and was quite sharp; knocked myself a few times.Overall the stat was very good and would recommend staying here.

Very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Seemed to second-guess our needs, as all good staff should. Lovely atmosphere. Clean and well appointed rooms - coffee/tea, tissues, etc, re-stocked without us having to ask. A great place to relax and forget the outside world.
