Stayed for 2 nights and what a great place to stay.
Staff were friendly and very helpful they couldn't do enough for you.
Room was spacious and very comfortable with coffee and tea making facilities.
Bed very comfortable slept like a log.
Food in the Garden Restaurant was excellent.
I know it was a 5 star hotel but the prices in the bar were expensive.
Overall I would recommend anybody to stay here for a very relaxing time.

Absolutely stunning hotel with friendly welcoming staff, incredible food and outstanding service. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Karen, Katrina, Barbara, Ricardo and all the staff were a pleasure to meet and made the stay for us. Thank you x The Mirabelle restaurant really was fantastic with the most incredible tasting menu and the Maitre'd and staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Lovely 5 star hotel that whilst very large still retains a very personal atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful including the traditional door man! Parking is free but limited considering the size of the hotel. They offer facilities for private functions and parties and have a range of restaurants and tea rooms.

Considering the price which was over 400 pounds a night I could not park in the car park and had to park on the side roads. The deco was average with carpets in the room needing to be updated and there was minor mess in the room on arrival, no fridge or air con.
The food was good, staff friendly but overall I didn’t feel I had value for money.
It looks great on the outside but very mediocre internally. I think they feel they are better than they are!

Went for an overnight spa break. Lovely massage and beautiful facilities. The indoor pool is rather small so I can imagine it gets rather busy at times. The sauna is divided male and female as they are in the changing rooms but the steam room is next to the pool. Lovely hotel room

Staff are very courteous and service is great. Hotel is extremely comfortable and very lush. Food is excellent, period hotel that celebrates its history everywhere you look. Fantastic place. We really enjoyed staying there. Highly recommended for a stay.

Very special experience in that old hotel, you can literally feel the history. Very good attention of all the staff from Concierge, Reception, Bar, Restaurant and more. Some small things could get more attention (missing Minibar or hairdryer) but could be due to the age of the hotel is not possible. Also nice location to explore the town and the Seven Sisters cliffs.

We drive two hours each way once a year to visit The Grand Hotel for afternoon tea.
Their staff have all been trained to a very high standard to deliver the best experience to guests.
The tea consisting of sandwiches, cakes, scones & strawberries also consistently good.

Enjoyable but difficult to understand how this hotel has 5 stars. Good: very pleasant staff, ideal location, lots of history. Bad: outdated rooms/bathrooms/health facility; stained upholstery in common areas; worn out carpets; no modern amenities (no AC, refrigerators, or USB outlets); while staff is pleasant, service and food quality are wildly inconsistent. Feels like it is relying heavily on its history and not investing much in its future.

Great stay, very welcoming, super rooms, great experience overall, but when we used the steam room the stains on the seating is so bad it looks like someones butt exploded. I almost threw up. Please fix this. Also the hotel is a huge maze, please improve the directions signage.

Went for a girlie spa weekend and it exceeded all expectations! We had a massage which we all 5 ladies came out with a wide smile!! Half an hour in the jacuzzi and swimming pool. Highly highly recommended!! Getting glammed to hit Embassy nightclub!

Booked high-tea here following a funeral; apart from messing up "vegan" with gluten free, everything was excellent. The food was delicious and the service very attentive and professional. The building itself is magnificent. Should we find ourselves in Eastbourne again I expect we'd certainly consider the Grand Hotel for our stay!

We had a really lovely stay here for my boyfriend’s birthday. Although we would have been dissapointed with the initial room, we were moved to a larger, more luxury suite as the internet didn’t work in the first one.
The food in the Mirabelle was incredible, very high quality of service and the spa was lovely too. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a 5* hotel experience!

Gorgeous old fashioned place to stay. Lovely conceiege staff, so friendly and attentive. Parking is ideal.
The view was just amazing. I think it needs modernising but will it lose the effect it has of aunthenticness. I don't know.
I Would not visit in the summer as during February the room was extremely warm with radiators off and windows open. So perfect on a cold evening.

Go in with right expectations and you won't be disappointed. It's Monday lunchtime and there are groups of men in fine tailored suits and a hint of pomp. Gins have already been ordered by the vast majority of the diners and the first groups are being invited through to dine.
It's a grand building with a decent lounge menu, decent internet and comparative peace and quiet. Club Sandwich was a nice variation on a theme with flatbread keeping the scale of the snack down.
Don't expect the modern but you won't be disappointed by what is essentially a hotel stuck in a glamorous past

What can we say that hasn't been said before?
Wonderfully traditional first class hotel that lives up to its name.
Supremely spacious, historic and majestic inside and out.
First class staff, service, food and room.

Lovely hotel, service is great.
Note that when busy you need to book and pay for a car park space.
Rooms a little tired, but very clean.
Would recommend and would stay again.

Good clean site.disabled facilities first class. Train line at the rear of the site a bit noisy but not as noisy as it must be for the folks living next to it. Train traffic stops late evening and starts again just after 5am. Would use again.

We went with two other people for afternoon tea and honestly we were not very impressed. Rather than be seated a table we were shown to a coffee table with settees around which made it difficult to the table, and the selection of food was poor which made it less than expected.

Only went for a wake to a funeral that we had been to but managed to park in the grounds carpark. Friendly staff. Beautiful decor and very nice food. Not sure about prices for rooms but very impressive.

How could it possibly be 5 star? Nothing is perfect is it? Well actually this is as close as it gets. The best you will experience is true service from someone who actually loves his or her job. The worst you will get is great service from someone who is fairly new but intent on making the grade. So they start at 5.5 stars and deduct a half for modesty.

Fantastic service and rooms but Wi-Fi not working in the room and even worse they had run out of Aperol at the bar! Didn't expect a king size double bed to be 2 single beds pushed together either...but service is very good and has gym and pools

A very gracious hotel with friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Lovely comfortable beds and dancing to a live dance band on Friday evening. Brilliant!
