Thank you, Expedia for the Booking. The only reason we regret is that we lost 2 to 3 days because we booked through Expedia, but I guess that can’t be help.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. Very impressive
imposing building. Loved the outdoor swimming pool and the spa. Live music and singer in the evenings was a bonus! Doesn’t quite meet 5 stars for me though, perhaps 4 star more appropriate. Had to chase up for bath towels. One tiny bar of soap between the two of us for 4 days, cleaner left duster in our room, had to chase up toast at breakfast etc. Upon arrival we were allocated what must be one of their worst rooms - very small overlooking roof! Asked to change room and was allocated a better one quite promptly. Inside the hotel needs a refresh. It got very warm and stuffy in dining room and in bedrooms which don’t have a balcony.

This was a present to my wife and I for our anniversary. Amazing sea view from our 3rd floor room. David the concergirge was really helpful - He needs a pay rise to make sure he stays at the Grand.
Restaurant was quiet when we had dinner, about 7.00pm. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, we had an excellent meal and are looking forward to the next meal.
On the face of it, the costs seem a little high, but as soon as you take into account the meals (we booked bed, breakfast and dinner), it looks very competitive. Not cheap, but very good value.
I've marked the rooms as 4 star, but in fact, it's more like 4 1/2 stars. They are well presented, clean and tidy as you would expect. The loss of half a star is my personal impression that the rooms are a little traditional. Having said that, they are in keeping with the rest of the building.
Well done to the Grand Hotel, you have a very satisfied client, we will be back soon.

Very lovely hotel in an excellent position. Service was exceptional. We had breakfast each morning which was delicious: a choice on continental plus a reasonable choice of cooked options, all freshly cooked. I’d suggest booking an early breakfast slot - we picked 8.30 which was perfect but people seemed to be queuing to get in when we left.
The car park is small but one of our party had a disabled badge and we were in an EV which we had informed the hotel of well in advance and as a result we were allocated an EV charging point/space for the time we were there which was sectioned off and ready for us when we arrived. Helpful and informative porters on hand. Lift to all floors.
We had a twin room - however the beds, whilst being very comfortable, are touching so you need to be quite friendly with your travel companion. Room was a good size with coffee machine, kettle & tea facilities, biscuits, a mini fridge, robes, slippers, safe etc. good size bathroom with a walk in shower. Everything spotlessly clean.
There is an outside pool which is a good temperature and I should imagine beautiful to sit around on a nice sunny day (sadly the sun was a bit rare on our weekend so we didn’t get to enjoy fully). Indoor is another pool, hot tub & steam room. The pool area could do with a little bit of TLC - a few tiles around the edge need replacing, some flaking paint and a roof tile missing plus the costume spinner is currently out of order and has been removed. There is also a gym with running machines and weights etc but we did not use.
All in all very happy with our stay & would definitely recommend.

A wonderful few days away. Superb location!
Very helpful, friendly staff, beautiful room, food and drinks delicious.
The room was serviced regularly to a very high standard.
Service at breakfast occasionally slow and a couple of mix-ups soon put right.
Pool and pool area small and changing rooms a bit untidy. Didn't use the treatment rooms as they were fully booked.
Concierge deserves a special mention, went above and beyond, as did the bar staff. Very knowledgeable. Delicious cocktails!
Overall a very enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend.

Booked an outside table for lunch so that we could enjoy the airshow.
Service awful. There seemed to be a lot of staff around but no-one specifically to serve us.
Had to ask for menus and drinks list.
Had to then find someone to take our order. When we wanted another drink, we had to get it ourselves from the bar only for them to charge us 10% service charge!
Finally, we had to ask for our table to be cleared as we were inundated with wasps and flies.
London prices and more.
Maybe they think that being 5* means the customer will accept poor service but this is not the case.
Please look at your staffing levels and training.

26.08.2024 Wir kamen auf Empfehlung extra aus Hastings um hier in Eastbourne den Afternoon Tea zu genießen.
Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht!
Dieses Hotel ist wirklich "Grand!".
So viele ineinandergehende Räumlichkeiten, so elegant.

A superb hotel, in a central location. Highly attentive and thoughtful staff. The interior areas were luxurious and felt like a historical discovery lay at every turn. Good choice of vegetarian and non-veggie food at breakfast. The only minor downside was the view from our room was over the inner side of the hotel which overlooked service areas - though at least it was blocked by a blind. Be prepared to pay extra for a sea view.

Great stay at The Grand Eastbourne.
Huge room, friendly professional staff, great service, good cleanliness everywhere. Staff overheard that it was our anniversary & they kindly left a card & chocolates in our room.
Lovely stay!

Whilst this hotel is expensive it’s a truly lovely experience to step back in time with the traditional decor and service, comfortable, clean rooms with both an indoor and outdoor pool, breakfast offers great variety, quality and service, dinner menu looks great for adults but not really for children.
