Arrived and checked in easily. Room was very large and comfortable but decorations rather old and tired. Bed rather small for a room of this size. Nice sea view. Ate in Mirabell one night and was excellent cooking - definitely worth a visit

Traditional proper British hotel. Given interior room without ability to open blinds- somewhat dark. But overall it was “an experience “. At 65 years old, we were the youngest in the hotel!!!
Excellent breakfast!

Check in staff member was not welcoming and said every 5 star hotel insisted on payment upfront making us feel perhaps we had never stayed in one before! The room was probably fit for 5 stars in the 70’s but not today. A tiny tv, broken blinds on windows that needed painting, an old style shower curtain and two single beds pushed together with a very large gap down the middle.
Dinner choice and quality also would have been great 40-50 years ago, we were typically English and just carried on but the American on the next table did not stay which was probably the right thing to do.
There were a couple of positives, the bar staff were friendly and breakfast staff and food were good.
We would not return.

Breakfast service was very slow, but otherwise a lovely stay.

Classic hotel but room needed some TLC. Stains on the wall and odd smell in the room doesn't reflect a five star hotel. Staff were lovely and attentive. It needs some money spent to bring it up to modern standards.

What a beautiful hotel, the perfect setting for an afternoon tea. The staff were attentive and the quality of the food was as good as The Ritz in London and half the price! Would definitely recommend.

A lovely hotel, with some really great staff and facilities to make your stay a good one! A Grand Hotel in every sense of the word, with outdoor and indoor pool, fitness and beauty facilities, two restaurants, a lovely bar area and main hallway too! What’s not to like? We will definitely be back!

Old fashioned Grand hotel with old fashioned excellent service. A porter greeted us, found a parking space and swept our bags away to our room. Reception courteous and helpful. Nothing too much trouble for dining room staff. Garden Restaurant food quality excellent

I enjoyed a delicious lunch in the garden room at the weekend. Food was awesome and the staff were welcoming. Only thing I would say was a small negative is that the service took a while. There weren’t many of us in the room but it seemed to take a while for the food and drinks to arrive. However it did not ruin my experience, and I would definitely come back for seconds!

We visited for Mother's Day and had the Champagne Afternoon Tea.. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The sandwiches, cakes, and Scones were all decadent and delicious, we would have loved more of the sandwiches! Beautiful decor and so comfortable. Located right on the seafront. This was perfect for a special treat!! The staff were so friendly and fun!

Stopped here for a lunch on a bank holiday weekend. Booked into the garden restaurant. Good choice of food. Very attentive and good service. Compared to other locations this is lovely and quiet and you can hear your partner. Relaxing piano music was playing too.

Lovely place with great view and stylish decoration. The only dissatisfaction is the poor wireless signal. Our room is the middle of the second floor and the WiFi signal is so poor that streaming is very unstable and some times fail to connect. By comparison, the signal in the lobby as well as in the restaurant on the back of the hotel are much better! Oh, one more thing, continental breakfast mostly meets our expectations, but hot dishes may have a little more seasoning.

We came here after a mishap last year and was offered a day out at the grand Hotel with spa and treatment with a cream tea, me and my wife chloe absolutely loved it and the staff were amazing and very helpful. Couldn't fault the hospitality. And the hot chocolates were amazing.
We Will definitely be coming back again soon, it just topped our weekend off

A brief visit to the spa . The facilities are small but peaceful although it was busy.
There is a small pool of chest high water level. Entrance has accessible steps. There is a small whirlpool and a steam room. The changing facilities have 2 cubicles and 2 showers in the female designated space.

A great hotel for a break and excellent location and as ever friendly staff and always a warm welcome. Nice to be able to order a good range of cocktails- not always the case in some hotels these days.
I have been staying here for over 25 years and always enjoy my visits.

A wonderful stay at the grand with attentive staff who are friendly and approachable especially Tony at the main entrance to the hotel who is a great asset to the team by being very courteous and helpful at all times
The executive room was very spacious and had wonderful views looking out to sea from all angles the bed was very comfortable and gave us both a good night's sleep
The breakfast was exceptional with a wide choice of fresh fruits pastries smoked salmon and various cold meats with a choice of fresh juices and teas the cooked breakfast was again unfaultable with eggs cooked to your preference with perfection and accompanied by endless tea and coffee all served in silver pots and jugs!
We used the swimming pool and steam room and had a wonderful experience spoilt with lovely laundered bathrobes and complimentary slippers will definitely stay again xx

Aged but still maintains character in the grander rooms. Nice to see the historical structure of this grand building but the history could be maintained with a few more finishing touches around the edges. Stayed here for one night on the weekend and it's has hints of the Outlook lodge (Shining film hotel). Had a very nice spa treatment which I would recommend but the 'health club' needs updating as it was very old and tired in my opinion, with a strange layout.
Had a great tasting menu dinner in the Mierrabel restaurant with lovely live piano and great service. Wine accompliant exceeded expectations and Ronnie was a very friendly character, presenting us with some new and delicious wines.
Very much enjoyed our stay.

A lovely surprise Valentines Day dinner in the Garden Room. Delicious food, beautifully presented and very nice wine. Afterwards, we sat and listened to a harpist, who played beautifully, whilst having coffee in front of the fire!! Bliss!!
