Tasting menu and wine flight experience in the Mirabel restaurant. A very enjoyable and customer focused experience. The food and wine was amazing. We never felt rushed and when extra time between the courses was requested this was not a problem.

Wow!! A beautiful hotel. Lippers and dressing gowns provided. The staff couldn't do enough. Some of the rooms with a sea view are top class. The rooms are very luxurious. The linen ,duvet and bed are the most comfortable. There is coffees , teas and pods for making deluxe coffees. There is a swimming pool outside and massive decorative rooms for events. The drinks are expensive but service is outstanding.

Breakfast was top quality and there was plenty of variety . Smoked salmon to avocado. Small croissants and yogurts and a variety of drinks such as grapefruit or cranberry.

Only negative is there isn't sufficient parking out the front unless you pre book. Alternatively park on the road at the side or at the back of the hotel.

The location is just opposite a lovely beach . A five min walk with a few steps.

I will be back, the Mirabelle restaurant was a particularly delightful part of my stay with unbelievable food served in style, congratulations to Benjamin & the restaurant team you were awesome-best meal I’ve had for years THANK YOU (a special mention to all the staff on the doors esp David a fellow Wiganer who had us laughing & the waitress in the bar who had a sore foot - didn’t catch her name - she was brilliant & deserves a raise)

This was my second visit to The Grand Hotel Eastourne and on both occasions I found our room clean and comfortable, in fact I can say the same about all areas I visited in the Hotel. All the staff were kind, attentive and always helpful, the food was good. I used the outdoor swimming pool which I enjoyed. An enjoyable and relaxing stay.

I'm just back home after a weeks's stay at The Grand Hotel Eastbourne. My late wife and I have visited The Grand a few times in the past. This time I was visiting on my own.
This is an amazing place to stay. The staff are so attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The customer careat The Grand is second to none. The food is excellent whether you dine in The Garden Restaurant or have something in the Chatsworth Lounge. The breakfast menu offers a very wide choice as you would expect from a five star hotel.

On arrival you can’t help but be wowed by the overall impression of this hotel. All of the staff were amazing giving an excellent service. Special mention to Chris who works front of house for his help in securing a parking space (top tip, you have to pay to reserve a space but if you turn up and one is available then it’s free). However if you look beneath the veneer of the overall impression then this is not a 5 star hotel,

Tired furniture in the public areas
Worn carpets
Chipped surfaces throughout
Bathrooms need an upgrade
Indoor pool area was tired and jacuzzi not very powerful

Breakfast was excellent on both days and we had one dinner in the Garden restaurant which was expensive but good my only criticism being there was no pianist.

As a treat we wanted cocktails before dinner however were unable to sit in the bar area due to it being monopolised by a loud wedding party who were between the ceremony and wedding breakfast. We therefore sat in the lounge trying to ignore the noise until the party began to overspill into there with children running around, not very relaxing. We then moved to another area in reception to finish our drinks only to be confronted by one of the bridesmaids sobbing loudly (I fear drink was a factor) so all in all we paid £35 for 2 drinks we couldn’t enjoy. I understand that weddings are very lucrative for hotels however we are all paying customers and one should not have a better experience at the expense of others.

Overall I paid nearly £400 for 2 nights in one of the cheapest rooms with breakfast included and although we had a good time, this was not 5 star luxury as the hotel needs a massive refurbishment to bring it up to standard.

A 5 star service yes, but a 5 star hotel, no.

Just returned from an overnight spa package weekend and we had a fabulous time. The customer service is of the highest quality - nothing was too much trouble. The location is great with the seafront so close. The food was amazing and breakfast was also good with lots of choice. Spa was good and had the basic facilities of a pool, steam room and jacuzzi. Some reviews have said the hotel decor is dated however I think it’s part of the charm and the service etc outweighs that - everything is clean and tidy which I think is the main thing. I would 100% stay again and recommend to friends

Fantastic stay at this wonderful seafront hotel. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food was delicious! Due to a door lock issue we were upgraded to a gorgeous junior suite. Thank you to Jason for his assistance and getting us moved swiftly. We look forward to returning to The Grand very soon

We had the most amazing stay. The deluxe rooms are so spacious and nice. The rooms and entire building is clean and lovely. The spa was immaculate and I had a best massage ever. Reece in the spa is amazing and was really helpful. We will definitely be back

Ok , so we are in Eastbourne and we’re passing by the Grand Hotel opposite the Beech and fancied a coffee . The entrance is very Grand and the concierge open the door for you , it’s a very nice introduction to the Hotel .All the staff were very helpful polite and gave a first class service. Now I’m afraid this is where it kind of comes to an end , the reasons are maybe down to taste and this is not really mine . Don’t get me wrong the architecture in and out is really nice it just seems very dated and very beige plus was full of …let’s just say fuddy duddies and old people, it could really do with a good updated makeover whilst still respecting the Architecture and History. Another gripe of mine was poor week tasting Cappuccino, although the shortbreads served with it were outstandingly good and considering the environment you were in was fairly priced . Hope you enjoy the pics 😊 x

My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon tea with live music from a classical quartet. The staff were fantastic, being very attentive asking if you wanted more tea etc. Carmen in particular was a star 🌟. Will be back again and definitely recommend.

There were eight of us for Afternoon Tea on a Tuesday and it was a good job we had booked as the place was almost full. We were shown to our comfortable armchairs and sofas and left for 10-minutes or so to relax and look around before our order was taken. The Afternoon Tea was excellent - 4-finger sandwiches (ham, cheese & pickle, smoked salmon and cucumber and 1-egg finger roll; 2-scones (plain and Fruit) with strawberry jam and clotted cream and 3-small cakes per person and as much tea or coffee you could want. The service was impeccable, the service staff attentive but not pushie. The room was nicely decorated, light and airy with some lovely views across the promenade to the sea. A really lovely setting for a celebration..

An amazing sight as you pull in to the driveway of this magnificent building. Living up to its name Grand. From the moment you entre the doors. The friendly staff are there, taking bags and showing you to the room.
Yes there are places the decor looks a little tired
Room was great comfortable bed, bathroom cleaned an replenished each day along with the tea and coffee.
Staff were friendly and attentive, food is superb and service was quick and with a smile.

Certainly lived up to the name of The Grand. Restaurant and bar service was slow, waited 20 minutes for a drink in the bar and over 30 minutes for cooked breakfast. When we asked how long our orders would be each of them came almost immediately.
Staff were clearing tables and setting up for the next meal whilst we were eating and it was not as if we were late into dinner. Our table was booked at 20:00.
At breakfast they were setting up for lunch and dirty table cloths were being removed and I can only describe it as dumped on a cabinet at one end of the restaurant.
Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise but the room 307 was a bit tired rivets where the foldable shower screen rested in the edge of the bath were broken. I used the bath jacuzzi, a really unusual experience, and found it released dirt into the water, so I anticipate it has not been used or cleaned recently.
Overall we had a lovely stay for my husband’s 60th birthday, staff were very helpful pleasant and friendly, attention to detail could have made our stay exceptional as one would expect for 5 star hotel.

Stayed for two nights at this renowned hotel, which mainly came up to our expectations . Hotel had plenty of lounges and public areas but requires a bit of tlc especially to the woodwork and panelling.

Service was impeccable in the hotel with excellent parking which can be reserved if you are disabled. The porterage and concierge service was perfect.

although we did not use the spa facilities we took a look and were surprised that the entrance passageway was very poor and in need of a serious uplift.

The hotel is in a great position close to the town centre and the major facilities. the promenade is just across the road. We dined in the Garden Room Restaurant where the food was of a very high standard. (see separate report)
