We visited The Grand for my wife's 70th birthday treat.
We were greeted with a lovely welcoming. Our room was also fabulous.
Unfortunately, some of the dining experience let our visit down....
During breakfast a few problems occured. Firstly, i had no knife on my side plate.
Secondly and more importantly, my wife finished her breakfast and I was still eating. The waitress came to the table and took her plate away. This is rude and simply bad manners and unacceptable.
It's such a shame for an establishment of your quality to fail with some really simple mistakes.
Let's hope these matters get corrected .

The room was rather small for such an expensive hotel. I can understand that if you don't pay the extra for a sea view, you don't get a sea view. But the view from the room of a rather inspiring courtyard wasn't great.

The staff were all very friendly. The Hotel like its location is stuck in a time warp. But nonetheless is very nice and charming

We stayed for a spa break, extremely comfortable bed and very friendly staff. The service was exceptional. We were served by a friendly young lady called Poppy who really went above and beyond making us feel welcome. It was a very lovely weekend.
The food in garden grill was delicious, great facilities and lovely entertainment. Would definitely stay again

This is a most elegant hotel, where service and professionalism is in abundance. It is quintessentially British through and through, like going back in time to better days of politeness and standards, so often missing nowadays. Relaxed, comfortable warm and friendly. The rooms are spacious, elegant and spotless. The Grill restaurant was excellent both in quality of fare and service. My dinner and breakfast were served on piping hot plates, my tea in silver pots and the table dressed in white linen with silver cutlery. The staff always immaculate in their livery, always ready to serve, help or just say hello. The location as you might expect is the best available at Eastbourne. I was surprised just how lovely the seafront is here, absolutely charming, old England at its best with an unspoilt seascape void of any ugly turbines. Would I return for another visit? Most definitely.

Went for a spa day and lunch, the spa was tiny and is used by all the families in the hotel and so there were kids in the pool too which was not relaxing. We didn't realise either that we weren't allowed to use the outside pool, as that was only for residents. It seemed silly in the middle of summer that even though we paid to be have a spa experience we had to stay in the pool in the basement with the children and not be able to enjoy the one outside which was virtually empty. The spa is very dated as well and it genuinely wasn't a very pleasant experience. We had a massage though and that was really good. We also had lunch on the terrace, which was basically at our own risk as the seagulls circled us above, one even swooped in and took half my sandwich away after scaring me half to death. Overall I really don't think the spa is worth the money. The hotel itself looks lovely though

Just had lunch at The Grand and was very much underwhelmed. I always love the atmosphere there but some of the food and drink was definitely not worth the exorbitant prices. Are they trying to cut costs?

Exceptional hotel, going back in time with a Modern Twist & 5 star service. The warm welcome you get as soon as you walk through the entrance is very special.

We had an afternoon tea, used the Spa facilities as well as a treatment. Special thanks to Alice who did my facial and massage and Tony from concierge who did a showed me around the hotel to help choose our room.

What a wonderful hotel as the name depicts, Grand. Super atmosphere as you enter the Hotel. Great location near to the promenade. Staff make you feel really welcome. Food is delicious obviously depending on what you order. So next time you visit Hastings get yourself along to the the Grand Hotel and have an afternoon cream tea. 😋

The hotel is historical and the service is attentive and friendly. Easy and well maintained parking. British seaside hotels tend to lose their luster over the years, but visibly a lot of hard work is invested here to prevent this. The room and the interiors were clean. The indoors pool is very small and a bit stuffy, but clean and features a nice steam room. The staff were very helpful with our questions about sightseeing.
The dinner experience in the regular restaurant was ok, but overpriced and not all of us liked their meals. The breakfast was quite nice with a wide selection of food and nice service.
We've got a sea view room, but most of the view was on the parking lot that is located between the hotel and the sea. So it really depends on the angle of your view.
It's very conveniently located to walk or take the bus to Seven Sisters.
