We had a wonderful stay at The Grand Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Every interaction with the team felt professional yet personal.
We stayed in one of the suites and were very happy with the space, comfort and overall presentation. The room was beautifully designed, well maintained and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
The location is excellent — right by the beach, which made it ideal for morning walks and easy access to the seafront.
A truly enjoyable experience. Elegant surroundings, thoughtful service and excellent attention to detail. Highly recommend and would happily return.

we arrive quite early wanting drinks in the bar which wasn't a problem,
but it was really really slow service and there wasn't many people about to be honest

Even tried sitting on the patio Service was even worse

we thought we made a serious mistake booking this place for our wedding anniversary, which is 39 years

we got our room and got changed for the evening

as the evening started different staff arrived and things changed.

We had a fantastic evening meal a brilliant piano player during the meal.
(I believe his name is Roy.)

All the food was spot-on to be honest and then we left there and discovered there was a jazz band in the main bar which was absolutely brilliant as well

in that main bar there was more efficient staff that looked after us very well so the evening made up for the slow service in the day
so all in all really enjoyed it was quite expensive though but it is the grand hotel Eastbourne
there was certain members of staff that are amazing
they've been there in a long long time would return for them

Staff were exceptional. Attentive, smiley, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Poached eggs on one day were the best ever. The hotel is a step back in time and the management have organised it well.

The product does not match the price The suites are in a desperate need of a upgrade. Everything looks so tired.

Lovely staff, the property is very grand including the dining room and lobby. Room itself slightly outdated but lovely amenities. Spa area also slightly outdated but enjoyable. Staff were wonderful!

I came here with my family for a 3 night stay. I booked a pregnancy massage and a facial for my daughter. I was very disappointed with my treatment as I was unable to relax as I could here loud talking from close by. I did address this with the masseuse who did nothing about it. I've also addressed this with the mangers PA who tried to blame the talking on my daughter who was having a facial. Firstly my daughter is a teenager and is very shy secondly the manager said the door had to be left open as she is a minor and a parent had to be present for safety reasons. This was not made clear to us so neither myself or my husband was present. I told the PA that I clearly heard a male and female talking loudly. My treatment was over an hour long and my daughters facial was about 20 minutes long. The noise was before my daughter's treatment. The PA has decided to ignore my email stating this matter which is quite a poor show and response for a 5 star hotel.

We enjoyed a spa day at the hotel. We started with a swim in the warm, sizable pool followed by a sauna and a jacuzzi.
We then had a very relaxing massage and a pedicure.
The afternoon tea, which followed was sensational. There were a range of different sandwiches, scones and delicious cakes. We were offered top ups for tea and sandwiches. My sister was also given a small birthday cake, which was a nice touch.
The staff were very pleasant and professional.
It was such a lovely day, which I would do again.

Having read the reviews before booking, I knew that the hotel was worn down and in need of a major renovation so I was not surprised. But the rooms are spacious with a nice view. The lady at the health club was very welcoming and nice to our babygirl. Unfortunately I felt that a few things could be fixed: one of the bathrobes had holes in it, and the staff at the bar seemed way too young and took forever to come to our table. Prices for the room was a bit too high for the quality (GBP157 on a Sunday), a fair price would be around GBP110. Food and drink prices are insane for the quality and level of service: GBP20 for a tasteless cocktail, GBP50 for breakfast! This is not the Ritz, it is an old fashioned hotel which needs to be upgraded! I don’t understand why they have the SLH label.
But we had a good time at the hotel and enjoyed the indoor pool.

Lovely for a special treat. We had to change rooms on arrival as was not suitable. We were charged extra,as the next room was, according to hotel,an upgrade. Very helpful and friendly staff. Especially the concierge, in particular Cole. Most items purchased, have a fixed gratuity added, regardless of service. The slamming of other bedroom doors was annoying. Bill was incorrect, tried to charge us an additional £80.

Whilst I have not stayed overnight at the hotel as I am a local, I am a regular visitor for drinks and snacks. Regardless, the quality of the service and the friendly staff is excellent.
Highly recommended

Our stay was ok and the public rooms very good. What you would expect from the era the hotel was built.
Bar was fine but expensivd and breakfast a bit of a lottery.
We reserved a table for our ladt morning only to find it had been taken by a single person keen to film/ photo his experience - our reservation was of no concern to the staff.
Our breakfast was good and liked the late finish - 10:30 am but service was intermittent.
Like the hotel but expensive.

Massive hotel. Service is ok. Only concierge is helpful even though they have to do multi tasks. Such as parking allocation, helping guests with their luggage to their room and at check out.

I booked a classic superior room according to Expedia but upon check in, the reception said it was a class room in their booking system.

The room size and layout of two rooms have a lot of difference. But the reception gave me 2 rooms to choose but none of them would look similar to what I booked.

At the end, I chose the classic room because it had air con in the room and it was modern and clean. And it was ok.

The Grand hotel is fine with people looking for old fashion hotels and don’t mind overpriced room rate. But one need to be aware of the dated exterior and renovation is underway. The front desk staff somewhat not as the same par as when it’s in busy check in time, they don’t want to spend too much time with you if you have problems. To be fair, there were only 2 ladies at check in desk.

The Hotel is wonderful with as many of the original features on display. The rooms are spacious and in keeping with a period hotel. Excellent bathroom, comfy bed. The windows are old single glazed sash windows and rattle in the wind. However a couple of stratigicly placed teaspoons stopped the rattles. Breakfast is amazing something for everyone. The staff are amazing as the guest is their most important focus. All reflected in the price. Top marks

The Grand is a very lovely hotel which has kept its feeling of grandeur from times gone by without being old fashioned or shabby. It has a quiet elegance with exceptional decor and service.

Loved the Hotel & we upgraded and had a superb sea view. Very good facilities. Excellent breakfast, because the Hotel was quite quiet on our visit, the already huge dining / breakfast room seemed even bigger & therefore lacked a little bit of atmosphere. Could easily be sectioned off during the quieter periods. Would happily return to The Grand Hotel.
