I don't like giving 3 stars but the food was very average. Neither of our coffees were great, have had much better at other places but it was the food that was disappointing. I had the pancakes which were very stodgy and under cooked. The compote that came with it was so sweet that it ruined the taste of the dish. I mentioned this to the waitress when she cleared the table but no answer was forthcoming. My husband had the veggie breakfast which was 'alright'

Lovely visit here after my workmate recommended it during my birthday weekend.
The service was attentive and there was a nice atmosphere, we had a great seat - in the window.
All of our food and drink was delicious and I’ve already booked for my next visit to Eastbourne and can’t wait to return.

We booked an outside table for lunch and boy were we glad we did! Lovely outdoor area, the sun was shining! We both had the Pollack with jersey royals, sapphire, pearl onions and pesto, absolutely delicious!! Couldn't fault it. Then for pud we both had the affagotto and chocolate torte to share, soooo good! Super chocolatey. Yum yum! Will definitely come again. Thanks to all the team.

We booked a table in the courtyard garden for lunch and a very nice lunch it was! We both had the Pollack with jersey royals, samphire, pearl onions and pesto. It was absolutely delicious! Then for pud we both had the affagotto and chocolate torte to share. Scrummy! The torte was super chocolaty. Really lovely sunny courtyard an friendly service. Thanks to all the team. We'll be back!

A truly wonderful meal - the food, service and setting was perfect and have been recommending this restaurant to all friends and family. I would return to Eastbourne purely to go back to this restaurant, a must visit if you are in the area!!!

A delicious meal served in an environment and cozy back garden. The tables are spread apart and offer privacy of conversation. The service was a little slow but we were not rushing. The food was expertly cooked and fresh. If you find yourself here ask for the back garden and enjoy a great meal.

Visited here for breakfast with my partner and we thought it was amazing. Everything was so tasty and fresh. It was my first time trying French Toast and I was most definitely not disappointed - my new favourite! The waitresses were really friendly too. Definitely recommend and will return when back in Eastbourne.

The dining experience for me, and the three people who accompanied me, was one of the most wonderful dining experiences. The visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was the topping on a perfect day. Excellently cooked food, superbly presented by polite and efficient staff. Well done, and I hope to dine at Skylark when I next visit Eastbourne.

Almost looks like a cafe but the atmosphere is great. Had beautiful food and something different to my usual order. Great wine and superb desserts too.

Hubby and I went to the Skylark for dinner on Saturday night in Eastbourne. We were looking for somewhere with food which was a bit more "gourmet". The Skylark absolutely delivered. Hubby had sirloin steak (the best he's had in a very long time, he said) and I had the 3 beetroot starter as a main course (with goat cheese). It was brilliant - wonderful flavours and textures and looked great too. We enjoyed super desserts too, with lovely, attentive and friendly waitress service and a good location. I would throughly recommend. Support this super small restaurant as Eastbourne is lucky to have it!
