I use this restaurant on a regular basis, usually before or after the theatre. The food is dependably good, you can have a quick snack or the full on dining experience . The service is efficient and cheerful and the owner is usually present which inspires confidence.

We would go again because the food is really very good. But not on a Saturdsy night. We waited 20 minutes for a bottle of wine which arrived after the starters. We gestured we were ready to order but the very nice waiter said sorry but we are very busy tonight - like it was normal to wait rather than they employ enough staff to cover their tables. Our starter plates sat in front of us for 20 minutes after we had finished. They are silly really because they are losing money - we would have had more beer, wine and would even had ordered dessert if there wasn't such a bad wait for everything

Excellent food, top service. As always. Every time we visit we are always well looked after by Luca and his staff. Recommended.

I love this place, it's lively and vibrant and most of all, the food is absolutely delicious! Also, the staff are great! If you're in Eastbourne for a few days, you've got to try here!

With so many average Italian chains on offer, it was a delight to stumble across this restaurant on a one night stay in Eastbourne. The staff were very friendly and the food choice was great. We enjoyed pizzas with the thinnest of bases (try the rosemary focaccia - it was yummy) and a delightful 'chef's special' brown rice risotto of prawns and asparagus. The kids hovered up the pancakes with chocolate sauce that came as part of their very reasonably priced set menu. Atmosphere was great as it was the pre-theatre crowd - we even spotted a 'Strictly Celebrity'! Would thoroughly recommend for couples, families, big groups alike - everyone seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere and food. I wish we had a place like this in our home town rather than the uninspiring Prezzo,Pizza Express, Zizzi's and Ask!

I went here with my mother and 3 year old son for early dinner, the staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful, and just so lovely. The food was very good (my son loved the mussels!) and very reasonably priced - 3 course set menu for less than 14 pounds! I would definitely go back and recommend this restaurant.

The most wonderful food, great service, reasonably priced. Also lots of pictures of great female tennis stars like Martina Navratilova and even Caroline Wozniaki making her own pizza. Very highly recommended.

Popped in for lunch and staff really spoiled me, first visit. This will be a regular favourite. Showed to a lovely table but one waiter decided too draughty so moved me to a cosier spot.
l judge authentic Italian cuisine by their MINESTRONE and it was the best ever, full of spices and herbs. So delicious l asked for the secret recipe. Even the "French" bread was extra special - tasty and soft instead of brittle.
The LASAGNE was excellent - fresh and lots of bechamel sauce. The serving so big l couldn't finish it - they packed half to take home for later.CREME CARAMEL for dessert - beautiful - creamy and light.
For anyone driving requiring no alcohol they suggested a BAMBINO non alcoholic cocktail which is orange juice and pomegranate (l think) - very refreshing and looks decadent! and not expensive.
The caring owner and staff, of which there are many, were attentive, speedy and amusing.
My drinks server was Barbara who deserves a mention for making me feel so at home.
They ALL made sure l had exactly what l needed and l felt very relaxed in the lovely Saturday family buzz all around me. Returning soon to try the rest of the menu ......

Always had good food here. Generally busy and lively, friendly staff. If you want something a little calmer try Locanda del Duca next door, same owners. Great venue, consistent good quality and value.

I have visited this restaurant numerous times. The Italian food is always reliable, not so keen on the fish as the one time I tried it was over-cooked. The restaurant is very popular with families so can be rather loud at times.

This is a very good Italian restaurant. The staff are always friendy and helpful, it is spotlessly clean and the food is good quality italian food. I have only stated that it is not the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant as I have had other excellent meals.

Pomodoro is an Italian Restaurant with a difference;
The food is very good and the service is better than average even when the place is full like most weekends throughout the year.
What is distinctive about Pomodoro is the family friendly attitude of the management and staff which makes it a pleasurable outing for parents with children after a long day shopping and sight seeing as a tourist or after hard week's work and graft as a local resident.
It is also a great place for a romantic dinner with your partner or spouse on a Friday or Saturday evening.
Moreover; if you like Italian cuisine; you will love the various exotic choices on the menu.

Very busy, especially at the weekend. Good food of typical Italian restaurant style not that there is anything wrong in that .

One of the most popular restaurants in Eastbourne and a favourite choice with group organisers. Prices are reasonable, the Italian and other dishes first class. The staff are courteous and efficient the only possible criticism being that the restaurant is, at times, rather noisy. However in such a spacious, frequently full establishment, little can be done about this problem.

Unfortunately too many tables for 2 squeezed in on the one night. This made service difficult and the kitchen was having to work very hard. Not our best experience this time.

We have visited several times for informal family dinners. This place can get very busy and then the service goes downhill. The last time we were there we had an hours wait between starters and mains. We were sitting downstairs which is not nearly as pleasant as the upstairs dining area . One of our party did get a complimentary coffee to apologise for the long wait.
The food is fairly good and reasonably priced . A good family restaurant.

We visit family in Eastbourne five or six times a year and my husband has always wanted eat here (as it looks really attractive from the outside) but we've never got round to it before. We just had a simple lunch but it was lovely. It's a large restaurant divided up into about three rooms from what I could see. Decor is very fresh looking being blue and white, not the usual italian theme. We had focaccia bread to start which was some of the best bread I've had, freshly made and cooked, straight from the oven. It was supposed to be my husband's but I ate half of it! I had lasagna which had some of the lightest pasta I've had and a delicious sauce, couldn't eat it all because of aforesaid bread.... husband had parmigiana mellanzana, a huge helping and very good. We had drinks but I also asked for a glass of tap water and they brought a jug of water with ice and lemon, not come across this for years. According to the website they also own the italian next door La Locanda del duca, which looks more like somewhere you'd go for a more intimate meal, we will try on a future visit.
