I've lived in Eastbourne for 7 years and I didn't realise this garden was here until today. I think it's a hidden gem and I will definitely be back for another visit. I had a great walk round on the well maintained paths with my dog and my 83 year old father in law. The flower beds were all well weeded and it was lovely to see some roses still in bloom in October. The gardens are well laid out around a central wildlife pond and there were several very informative boards providing wildlife and local history information.

Motcombe Village and especially the Gardens are an oasis amongst the Eastbourne Old Town area, which itself is a lovely part of town.

A real jungle in there. The only place worth looking at is the bowling green. The pond is surrounded by high grass, reef, shrubs and overgrown trees. All around the grass us high and dangerous because you cannot see the holes. Visit it at your peril. Hopefully the council will do something soon about the state it's in.

Someone ruined the pond by taking the island away that was in the middle.
The ducks now have no-where to keep their ducklings safe and they are being taken by the seagulls!

It is the perfect slice of heaven, beautiful and tranquil.
Watch the ducks and moorhens. See the Robin Redbreasts dancing from tree to tree, whistling their tune.
Its small but perfectly formed.

A beautiful little park in the heart of Motcombe. Unfortunately mindless vandals have totally destroyed the display platform by the pond, perhaps CCTV should be installed. Lovely bowling green which is now closed due to the pandemic. Plenty of seating for picnicking or for watching the bowling (when it resumes). A small, peaceful, friendly park for us locals. Pond with ducks... the source I believe of the Bourne Stream. Tranquil 🦆😊
