Lightning Fibre have been great even when things are not always working the way that they might. They have been quick to rectify issues as well as always friendly and very helpful. Today we had a problem accessing Disney + and Sam in the Support Team got onto it straight away. Despite the complications - which was nothing to do with Lightning themselves and more of an issue for Disney, it has all been sorted. Am so glad that we have switched to Lightning!

LF have been great from the start. Plenty of notice in digging up the the pavement (they actually improved and removed a dip in the tarmac which always collected water). Then once the connection was made we signed up to the basic package which is frankly four or five times as quick as my prior contract. Excellent installation and the lads had to work-around some tricky obstacles. Overall very happy, thanks.

I subscribed and booked an appointment on line receiving a confirmation e mail.Nice and simple.The crew were polite and professional.The engineers dug a small very neat trench across my garden,maybe a foot wide and 18 inches deep.They even took the trouble to avoid key plants in the garden that I wanted them to work around.A small black box on the outside of the building is the only tell sign but this has been placed low down and is unobtrusive.The cable enters my house through a tiny hole in the wall which is neatly sealed and enters the house where I wanted it located.
The kit even came with a free booster to boost the signal around the house.All very good.
Customers should however be aware that wifi speeds will not be as advertised.I bought the 500mbps service. Immediately after installation,next to the router I was getting get about 140-180mbps,in the same room 90-120mbps and else where in the house 80-90mbps.A wired connection to my tele was receiving 85-95mbps.I would expect some signal degradation due to distance from the router but this felt too low.
Here is my only complaint with the service so far.I used the online contact form to ask why the speed over wifi was no where near the advertised 500mbps.The reply I got felt like the typical contact centre push back.The reply arrived quickly.There was no offer to investigate the low readings.No acknowledgment that these signal strengths were to be expected.The reply ran something along the lines of 'When using wifi your device flicks between 5Mhz frequency and 2 Mhz frequency.Your device tries to find the most effective frequency.5 Mhz is the faster service but lacks penetration,so is more effective at shorter ranges.2 Mhz frequency is slower service but has greater penetration.When you are further from the router your device selects a signal frequency that penetrates better but may give a weaker signal'.I know all this.What this explanation did not address was why the signal strength was so weak,even next to the router or why even a wired device didn't achieve a strong signal strength.I was disappointed.

This was a 4 star review. Now downgraded to 3 star due to Lightning Fibre (LF) response to previous Trustpilot (TP) review.
Immediately after installation,when the signal was reasonable,LF phoned and asked if I was satisfied.I was.Installation was good and signal strength on installation excellent.LF then sent me a link to the TP asking for a review.
The request to complete a TP review prompted me to check my signal speeds.I wanted to present an honest review.Oh ! The signal strength had dropped significantly since installation.It is true.The wifi signal on day one was good,430Mbps.But then it dropped significantly.'same device','same conditions','same frequency',slower signal.I asked for an explanation privately via the LF web portal.I was hoping LF would investigate,fix any problems or at least give a reasonable explanation before I finished my TP review.
But I received a less than helpful push back.
So I posted the original 4 star TP review.Good but not perfect.
In response to the TP review LF pushed back again,publishing parts of the original private communication that suit them and missing out chunks which didn't suit them.
By way of an excuse LF talk about 'older devices'.There are 6 people in the house,we have more than 15 internet capable devices.They are all either nearly new or brand new.All are regularly updated and operate on the latest software.I told LF this yet they persist with excuses about older devices.
LF also persist in waffling on about wifi frequencies. All of the tests I have conducted have been on the 5Mhz frequency 1 metre distance, to get the very best results.I listed 10 internet speed readings in my original web contact to LF,using 7 different on line speed tests,to avoid claims that some Speed Tests are more accurate than others.Some of the tests were carried out on Lightning Fibres own speed test link.I told LF this.To be fair to LF I even double checked the readings using two other devices and got even LOWER test results.The results listed in my complaint were the highest results.
Even these 'best' results only range between 84Mbps -178Mbps and the 2.4Mhz -v- 5Mhz wifi argument put forwards by LF is an irrelevance.
In relation to LF's last TP comment,about the complaint handler asking me to get back to them if I had any further problems.Is LF suggesting that I'm being unreasonable airing my views publicly on TP? LF asks for a TP review.I make some observations privately looking for answers.LF try to push back, using an excuse that does not stand scrutiny.I then comment publicly but factually.I think that's reasonable!

The work to install the fibre into the house was carried out professionally and the work men were on time and very polite / socialable. The accommodated putting the .open in the position within the property where I actually wanted it and no mess was left afterwards. The only criticism was I did not realise the size of the modem coming through the wall otherwise I would have had it right tight in the wall corner rather than 24 inches away which dose make it a bit harder to conceal. Would of been a good idea if lightingfibre had a photo & size of modem on their website so new customers get a idea of we're to place it whe n the istallers come. Otherwise it's much better and faster then BT or Sky who just use the old copper cable

Great service from the team. Appointment brought forward which suited me better. Install team Etienne, Oscar and Matt polite and patient. They arrived a little earlier than planned so I needed them to wait 15 minutes until I was ready for them to start the install. Etienne explained the installation process and where the box was going to be positioned on the wall etc. chatty and personable. System working well, excellent all round.

I was so fed up with BT - when you work from home, having a reliable broadband is crucial but my current broadband with BT was just not doing what it was meant to be.
However I couldn’t move to other provider as it would leave a period of time without any internet connection during the transition period.
Lightening fibre was readily available. Initial consultation with Rob Miller had gone incredibly smoothly and he found the best deal for me and organised everything promptly. Within two days of the order I had a visit from 2 engineers who has installed the set up box within couple of hours. No mess was left behind and the engineers were extremely friendly and professional.
My internet speed has gone up massively.
The best broadband I have ever had!!

I was going to wait for a few months to see how the service was, but unfortunately, I had an issue with a Streaming provider thinking I was in Germany and geolocking it's service,

I contacted the support team using the very straightforward portal at nearly 11pm and by 7am the next morning the support team were on it working to resolve the issue which has to be the fastest and considering normal working hours, that response time is phenomenal.

Combined the above with the quick and tidy installation, steady and consistent speeds, the hardware Lightning provided doing a fantastic job of covering my entire house with a strong wireless signal, and the fantastic price I can honestly say this is one of the best utility purchases decisions I've made in years.

I am happy with the service from lightning fibre. They came highly recommended from a neighbor. Their response and service has been great so far. They are affordable and the cheapest I have come across so far. Broadband works fine without hitches. One service provider I truly am happy with since I arrived the UK. The whole experience of dealing with lightning fibre has been very easy and a very pleasurable experience, from the minute I made the phone call I was treated very politely and professionally ,the engineers that came and done the installation was very professional and very respectful of my premises .

My local Lightning fibre team are awesome. Great installation on time with no mess, the tech backup is also 100% can't fault in anyway. I am new to FTTP full fibre and speed difference is outstanding. Now I can see how slow BT actually are compared to my new full fibre connection. Will be with Lightening Fibre Eastbourne for many happy years to come makes a huge difference to my Internet work etc. Keep up great work LIGHTENING FIBRE doing a marvellous job.

A great crew Luke and his team attended my property advised how they would install Lighting Fibre and advised all the way all over in just over an hour! Great speeds non-stop!! I must have Eastbourne people due to BT cannot do fibre broadband till 2025 and 26 which is unbelievable, will lightning fibre row strength to strength and take over the complete area well done everybody at Lighting Fibre.
