Mixed bag. I was a huge fan of LF when it launched... and in terms of speed to router they are unmatched locally.

But i've not found these support to be that great when things do go wrong. They never pick up the phone, will never speak to you and sometimes replies take days. With broadband SO critical now with working from home this could be a deal breaker.

(I the issue its an easy fix they are pretty quick, more complex issues can take weeks to not resolve)

Now no doubt they will comment and tell you about how we've had multiple engineer visits and the like and they found nothing wrong. And it's true. But yet there has and remain issues. The default is to blame my equipment (even thought I get consistent reports on all devices across Apple and MS on the same software - 7 devices all similar readings)

Case in point we had a faulty extender that was causing devices to only connect to guest network. I was told multiple times it was my kit. It wasn't. The extender failed and now replaced and issue has been solved.

Wifi speeds around the home are variable. I can get 300mbs wireless one second and then 30mbs the next. Again they don't guarantee wireless speeds but they are so variable (even in the same room) that it almost negates getting fibre (Previously with Sky id get consistent 50mbs wireless on a 60mpbs connection).

Even to line test I've not seen up/down to be the same.

Ultimately my tip is this - get LF. The pricing is good, the speeds to router good, they ARE local and hardwired connectionss are great BUT invest in some better kit. The supplied routers/extenders are pretty poor and I'ms are thats where a lot of the issues come. Also if things go wrong expect the fact that support doesn't/isnt willing to really look past the obvious. If you can live with all that then worth the purchase.

Invest in local they said. They are great, they said. So how do we rate them? Well, ... there were some teething problems that almost drove us to eat some humble pie and go back to our previous (way more expensive) provider. BUT ... man, did LF come up trumps, their support by email, chat and phone was amazing, monitoring our line and eventually changing over one of the 'faulty' parts.
We are now up and running, LOVING the speed and VERY PLEASED with the overall service.

Great installation when team attended. Arrived as agreed ad was very prompt and answered all the questions. Fantastic local company that I will support and offering great speeds and price. 1gb up/down and fairly decent Zyxel modem as well. Thumbs up.

Ryan and Charlie arrived just as they said they would and got to work immediately. Very courteous and polite, they listened to the way we would like the cable to enter our house and made an excellent job of ensuring it was neat and tidy. Everything was left clean and tidy when they had finished. The usage was explained and even I {as technology limited as I am} was able to understand it! and WOW.. when i started to use it I couldn't believe how fast it was. Many thanks to Ryan and Charlie for making it a pleasant experience .Would recommend to anyone.

After years of being with another provider and getting maximum of 20mb download speed in my 80s built property it’s been a breath of fresh air to now be getting over 900mb download speeds! Damian & Matt of the installation team were very efficient and professional and had my home install done as well as making sure it was up and running within a couple hours at a time that was convenient for me. We are a family of 3 and up until now we couldn’t download multiple things at once, play online games without disconnecting or it being so slow it became unplayable , stream anything without it buffering constantly or use/view our CCTV effectively. Now with Lighting Fibre we are able to do all these things at once at the same cost as we were paying with our previous provider. I cannot recommend Lightning Fibre enough.

So happy with our fibre optic internet now. The guys arrived promptly in the morning installed it no time and were friendly. Can’t ask for more than that 😁👍

Excellent job done by Dom, Ricky and Fion. When the installation at frst didn't work due to an issue with the installation from the road, they persevered rather than just leaving it for another team to solve and got our service up and running.

From first inquiry to installation and use of product, I can not fault Lightning fibre.

Fully connected within 6 days of signing up. Ash & Damian arrived on time, Explaining everything they were going to do whilst keeping me involved with options as to where i wanted equipment to be placed.They were very courteous and took great care when entering and leaving property. They tidied up before they left, Apart from now having superfast Internet i would never have known they had been here.

Very helpful engineers who were polite and respectful of working in the house. Got the job done with the minimum of fuss

I Contacted lighting fibre, Connor looked after me with the sales process and I had engineers ready to install in just 6 days! the installation couldn’t have gone smoother, Dom, Fion and Ricky explained everything clearly with no complications at all, couldn’t recommend more! my only negative is the routers are pretty poor, luckily I bought my own and the experience has been second to none ever since!

Just installed today, Stuart and Owen did a great job. Tidy and professional. Got some good speeds on my connection and the mesh WiFi extender seems to work really well.

Matt and Damien installed our new Lightning Fibre system. They were very polite and after introduction suggested the route the wiring should take, fully consulted at every stage. Neat and tidy work in appalling weather. Top blokes.

We had Charlie and Ryan round this morning to upgrade us to Lightning Fibre from our existing Sky broadband connection. They were polite, tidy and super efficient, the entire set up was completed quickly and now we have speeds that just cannot be matched by Sky, the wired Playstation is now pulling in 928.3mbps instead of the shoddy 42mbps Sky gave with the same connection and with Lightning Fibre’s Black Friday offer it only works out about £4.50 per month more than the sluggish connection Sky was costing us each month but more than 20x faster. Fantastic service, cannot fault it or recommend them enough!
